My son attends Busy Bees nursery 3 mornings a week. When I drop him off we are greeted with a lovely friendly welcome. The staff are always pleasant and happy. My son is always happy for me to leave him. He has a good bond with his key worker and I am impressed with the care he receives. There is always
a variety of activities both inside and in the garden. When I pick him up he always has a big smile on his face and is always clean, with a fresh nappy. My son has a daily communication diary, which I think is great as it lets me know how he has been and what he's been doing as well as what he has eaten and nappies etc. I am very happy with the quality of care and would definitely recommend it.

My daughter does 2 full sessions at the nursery and I am impressed with the care she receives. She is always willing to go to her key worker and feel she makes an effort with her and me to ensure she is settled and happy. Creative work is sent home in her diary and communication is good. If I have any
request for the key worker she is more then happy to do. There is always equipment provided to explore and needs are always met.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.372) out of 10 for Busy Bees Wigan, Marylebone is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.880 for Busy Bees Wigan, Marylebone is calculated as follows: ( (98 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.88

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.492 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Wigan, Marylebone is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.592

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Zoe Davis

Job Title: Centre Director

Hi I am Zoe and I am a Qualified Early Years Educator. I have attended numerous courses surrounding child development and staff management. I truly believe in allowing and encouraging staff training opportunities. Every child matters, every child achieves and develops at their own stage of development and in their very own unique way. By attending ongoing training opportunities allows not only myself but my staff team to also reflect on the day to day practice being delivered and continually learn new techniques of helping children to achieve and develop to reach their full potential.

I am a true believer that children are only young for such a short space of time, so allow them to learn and develop through play, by providing a variety of exciting learning opportunities for your children to explore.

As a setting, we work very hard to ensure we are a fully inclusive nursery and believe we have excellent, warm and welcoming parent partnerships. We also have great partnership links with the Local Authority allowing us to offer friendly advice and support for children with additional needs.
