The team at Kirkby Day Nursery are passionate about children’s development, and want to nurture your child’s love of learning, fun, creativity and exploration. Ofsted has recognised their commitment to exceptional childcare and education with the achievement of a consecutive 'Outstanding' in their latest inspection (February 2017, December 2022).

Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool was established in 2000 and is based in the David Lloyd Club in Knowsley. The nursery is designed to support your child’s development from 3 months to 5 years, and the team are dedicated to delivering the best possible childcare to local families in the community.

They pride themselves on providing a safe, exciting and enjoyable nursery where children thrive as they learn. The nursery is all on one level and has a separate entrance from the David Lloyd Building. Each of the four age-specific rooms has been lovingly crafted into an inspiring and stimulating learning environment with a variety of resources and activities available.

There is a large, recently refurbished garden, which offers lots of opportunity for digging, gardening and imaginative play. Your child will love exploring the variety of areas, such as the mud kitchen hut, the cosy reading shed, and the popular outdoor water play.

Honestly could not recommend this nursery enough! Both of my daughters have attended Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and have both had such positive experiences whilst attending. I believe the staff and facilities gave my oldest daughter the best start in life to go on to be a confident, bright little
girl when starting school. A home away from home setting that gives me such comfort when dropping my toddler off with ease who currently attends the nursery. Making my life as a full time working parent much easier!! From the managers to the staff each and every person that works here are very welcoming, knowledgeable and treats your child like family! Wouldn't dream of putting my children anywhere else, 10/10 service!!

We don't have a single bad word to say about Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool, which I think speaks volumes about the staff and the service. There have been absolutely no issues whatsoever which is just incredibly relieving for us because it's very important that we're confident in how
our little boy's being looked after while at nursery.
The staff in the baby room, in particular, have really gotten to know our boy personally and the communication throughout has been spot on. They're very attentive and constantly feedback a lot of key things to us. Even staff members I didn't know would be in contact with him that much seem to know loads about him and what he likes and doesn't like.
We love the app, we love during a work day getting a picture of our boy getting involved in activities that seem to really be bringing his development on a lot. Since starting, we've noticed benefits in how he socialises etc.
I have recommended Bright Horizons Kirkby to family and friends, some of those plan to register.

My 1 year old daughter has been in attendance of Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool for three months now. I am overwhelmed with the service and care from every member of staff in regard to my daughter starting. She has grown up so much and settled in very well, due to the excellent service
provided by staff. The care that has been provided is above and beyond; communication home is exceptional and you are made to feel like part of an extended family. I love sending my little girl here and couldn't imagine her being anywhere else. Thank you so much for making such a big moment in my daughter's life so much easier.

You won’t find a better nursery than Bright Horizons Kirkby, my grandson attends 4 days a week and my older grandson previously attended. The staff are fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The level of care provided is amazing and I wouldn’t trust my grandchildren with
anyone.

The staff at Bright Horizons Kirkby Day Nursery and Preschool have been very supportive since our daughter joined in June 2023. Our daughter has medical needs which the staff have been brilliant with and have taken on extra training to make sure her needs are met. We are grateful to all the team at

I absolutely love this nursery for my little boy. The staff go above and beyond, the handover is always detailed and linked with the app. I always feel involved in my child’s learning and wouldn’t send him anywhere else. If I could rate the care and staff more than 5 I would.

We are over the moon with the nursery since our daughter started here in June 2023. We have been consistently impressed with the care shown for her by all of the staff and the way she has developed over the last few months. She really loves going the that is the best compliment we can give! She loves
the food, often eating all of whatever she is given, the food is healthy, varied and clearly very tasty. We love the app and the info we can get from it every day. All things considered, we are extremely happy we chose this nursery for our daughter.

I would highly recommend this nursery. When my little girl started in April at the age of 2, she was a little unsure and unhappy about being left as all she had known was family. Although she had a settling-in period she was still a little shy and would get upset when I left but the staff would comfort
her and make her feel safe and settled. They would also send me a picture so I knew she was happy. Now 5 months later she is happy when I drop her off for the day and is always excited at the end of the day to tell me all about it. She also eats really well and tries different foods at the nursery that she wouldn't normally at home. The nursery is very clean and tidy. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and one thing I did pick up on is they all know the names of each child individually. I have always felt supported by the staff when it has come to changes in my child (potty training) and there have been occasions when I've needed extra hours and if they can accommodate they will.

I am really delighted to recommend this nursery. I first contacted them last year and attended for a walk around with the nursery manager. I was impressed by the experience and commitment of the staff, and the cleanliness and organisation of the nursery itself. I was pleased to enrol my son to start
in October and felt really well supported by the settling in sessions. Staff are friendly and helpful, and create an atmosphere that is happy for the children and reassuring for parents. Having been here for almost 5 months I have been so relieved at how well my son settled in. He is clearly happy here, enjoys his day, eats well and remarkably he actually does nap! I always receive an update at pick up as to how the day has gone and follow along via the app whilst I’m at work. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent nursery to other parents.

As a family we love Kirkby Day Nursery, my nephew is 20 months old and has been attending for almost a year. My 19-month-old son has attended Kirkby Day since he was 12 months old and I've been delighted so far with the care he has received throughout this time. The staff are fantastic with him, they communicate well with myself and I find the nursery app really beneficial, as it gives me all the information
I need about his day. My older son who is now 8 years old attended the nursery when he was younger and I didn't hesitate to go back, the standards have been consistently high. I would highly recommend this nursery.

I have been attending this nursery over the past five years with my children and would highly recommend it. The rooms are kept clean and fully equipped for all the appropriate ages. All the staff have been amazing, especially through the pandemic and care for the children as their own. My children's
social skills have improved and they thoroughly enjoy all the activity-based learning, that is provided. Communication from the nursery has always been good and has improved with the introduction of the app.

This nursery is just outstanding! No words can describe the level of care offered by the staff and the relationship and trust they have built with both my husband and I, and most importantly our daughter. She has been in nursery for 3 and a half months which was a difficult decision at the time and
made so much more manageable due to this nursery. She is so excited every day about attending and speaks about activities she has been part of every day. I can't recommend this nursery enough and I'm just thankful I found it and hope when she leaves we can find a school offering the same standard of care. I love that they are passionate about my daughters education and encourage learning and development on a daily basis she has progressed so well I'm so proud of her and so thankful to the staff.

My children have both loved coming to this nursery and have made amazing progress. My son has been at Kirkby Day Nursery for nearly a year now since he was 11 months old. It’s an amazing nursery and all the staff are lovely. My little boy has come on so much since he’s been there and loves going. It’s a great setting and they're always doing different activities daily with the children.
Always kept up to date about things which is good. Good variety of healthy food for the children too. And it’s open long hours and all year round which is good if you work long hours etc. I couldn’t fault the nursery at all. Perfect in every way! If you're looking for a nursery for your little one definitely consider here!

Both of my children absolutely love coming to nursery. My little girl is almost three and looks forwards to her days at nursery each week. She loves the staff, has formed very good friendships with the children, thoroughly enjoys the range of activities each week (especially all of the amazing activities
they do in toddler room linked to stories and themes) and goes in and comes home each day smiling. My little boy is almost one and only joined the nursery after Christmas. I was particularly worried about him settling because of the lockdown situation and lack of socialising since birth but he has settled very quickly and also goes in happily and has quickly formed strong bonds with the staff in the baby room. I am so very grateful for all that each of the staff at the nursery do for my children to ensure they are well cared for and happy. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the management team also do a fantastic job. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone with young children.

I have my own little boy Sam who also attends Kirkby Day Nursery, so he gets to experience all the wonderful things we provide. I truly love working with children and families and sharing all the wonderful things that the children do on a daily basis.

I started my journey with Bright Horizons in 2013 and I have over 17 years’ experience working with children. I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 17 where I gained my L2 & 3 in childcare in early years. From a nursery nurse practitioner, I developed my skill by working with amazing children, families and practitioners which supported me to become a part of the management team. Since working for Bright Horizons I have truly excelled in my practice and knowledge on how to support practitioners to become outstanding members of our team.


By the age of 32 I was given the opportunity to take on a deputy managerial role, which I am truly thankful of.
