Off the edge of the leafy Birchwood Park, you’ll find a beautiful Georgian House with a garden gate. A little path leads you past the Holly Trees and into the beautiful grounds of Heathfield House.
Heathfield House Day Nursery is one of two family run day nurseries, owned by mother and daughter. They offer full and part time places for 0-5 year olds, in a caring, home from home environment. Priding themselves on delivering high quality childcare and pre-school education, which is reflected in their most recent Ofsted report.

A special place for children to learn, grow and play.

As a family run setting, they aim to emulate the home whilst still offering a wide range of activities. Teaching and learning is based on the 'Reggio Emilia' approach, where children are given the opportunity to develop in stimulating environment, rich with learning opportunities. Heathfield House Day Nursery staff are particularly passionate about children enjoying the outdoors and have a stunning garden area, where children can truly thrive, and develop socially, emotionally and physically. In addition, the children are regularly taken on outings to explore their local environment.

They believe children should be active participants in their own learning, so a child-led approach to planning is adopted by practitioners and activities are often spontaneous and child initiated. Both of my children attend Heathfield.
I am unbelievably happy with the level of care that my children receive. They have been hugely accommodating and very supportive.
There are great resources at this nursery. I really feel that my children have been able to spread their wings here and get to
explore their interests as well as working on areas where they need a little more help. The staff go out of their way to come up with great activities for the children.
The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The outdoor area is brilliant. My children love it.
Staff moral at Heathfield seems to be very high.
