Sir Leslie Martin Day Nursery is an amazing place! The care and attention our children get are second to none. We’re extremely happy with everything the nursery offers our children and are lucky to have such a wonderful nursery available to us in the area. We currently have our eldest two boys at the
nursery, who are 4 and 3 and will also be sending our baby girl to the nursery in May. The staff are amazing; they go the extra mile to look after us as a family. The children always say how much they enjoy nursery, and our boys love the show and tell sessions! The extra work that goes on behind the scenes to bring special occasions to life such as Christmas time is unbelievable; the staff, children and parents of the children are all one big family. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic nursery. My older teenagers attended this nursery, my toddler now attends and some of the fantastic staff who taught my older two are still at the nursery. Well run, always welcoming. Wonderful tasty food menu. Could not fault this nursery.

I have had 2 children already graduate from the preschool room in the last 5 years, my third child is currently in the preschool room and due to start school next September.
My children have loved this room and the carers who have helped them reach their full potential in a kind, considerate and caring
way. My 3-year-old has made some lovely friends and thoroughly enjoys his days at Sir Leslie Martin Day Nursery. The carers have a good balance between being fun and firm, expecting good manners and behaviour from the children. The outdoor explorers is amazing, my son loves being able to learn in the outdoors and the big room garden is fantastic for him. He learns soo much in nursery, when learning numbers, letters and colours it’s all achieved in a fun way, he loves the arts and crafts and has a lot of fun with his friends. The carers are very loving if he is ever feeling sad and they’re full of joy to laugh with him when he’s happy. I couldn’t recommend the nursery and staff enough.

The nursery has been fantastic for my daughter - the staff are the real shining stars; they approach everything with such enthusiasm and warmth that my daughter would be skipping into nursery every day. There is also a real variety of activities that are done on a daily basis, and the development in
my daughter's speech, language and overall mannerisms has been great. The nursery is bright and cheerful and a real learning environment - also, the fact they pride themselves on being a small, independent day nursery is evident - the fact they are smaller than some other nurseries definitely enables my daughter to build some real relationships with the staff, but also with the parents too.

Our little boy started at Sir Leslie Martin in April 2021 aged 3.
Having been through lockdown, missing key socialisation and not having been in a “nursery” environment before, he was very shy and fretful of being left alone without me there.


I was extremely nervous about him starting but knew it

would be for the best in order to prepare him for school.


After a couple of sessions, the transformation was incredible, he was asking to do more days, and when out and about, he was no longer the child clinging to me - but excited and confident to mix with others!


The most comforting part of this development was the fondness in which he spoke of his room leader - speaking of her on a daily basis and excited to see her again, demonstrating the utter trust he has so quickly developed for someone outside of our family.


Most mornings start with “is it preschool today?” - a true testament to the quality of care at Sir Leslie Martin.

Our daughter has been going to Sir Lesley Martin Day Nursery since she was 9 months old and loved it from the first day she was there. The ladies in the baby room were absolutely amazing and she adored them all. She couldn’t get in there quick enough every morning - leaving me for dust! I noticed her
development came on leaps and bounds as soon as she started.
She is now in the toddler room and throughly enjoying it. She took a little bit to adapt but I think it was just the change. The girls were fantastic with settling her in and every time I pick her up she is smiling from ear to ear saying what a fun day she has had. Any issues that have ever arisen have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. I have complete faith in everyone that works there and I know my daughter is in great hands.

My daughter has been at the nursery since the age of 14 months and in the short time she has been there, I can honestly say she has flourished! Naturally, we were anxious about her starting nursery after spending so much time as a lockdown baby but the smaller class size has suited her so well allowing
her to rapidly develop in confidence and social skills. The staff are warm, friendly and very approachable. I would highly recommend the nursery to other parents.

Why did I decide on this nursery? First of all, they are small, so the transition from home to nursery seems less scary, and I was super correct. My little boy started his learning journey at 11-months-old, and although there was some crying, it was so little, and every time I picked him up at the end
of the day, he was so happy, and I felt he was safe and everyone was caring him so well.
Another important thing was how inclusive and diverse the nursery is. See I am Portuguese, so for me, it is very important to have a place where I know he will learn English and English culture, but there is space to learn other cultures and languages, and staff at Sir Leslie are super open to learning about Portugal.
Also, the team has a male member as a teacher, which is pretty uncommon, and I thought it is great for my baby to learn how males also are part of raising a child, and it is not only mummy.
It has been super incredibly months, and he is developing in an impressive way. Highly recommend Sir Leslie Martin.

I am extremely happy with the level of care my baby has received since he was 11-months of age. All the staff are amazing, and he developed incredibly well in the past 5-months. He really enjoys the 3-days a week he stays at Sir Leslie’s, and he’s always willing to stay there in the morning without
even crying. Don’t hesitate if you want to choose this nursery for your child. Amazing people, amazing activities, and genuinely nice and emphatic staff. Thank you all.

Our daughter has attended Sir Leslie Martin Day Nursery twice, first when she was very young and latterly in the year and a half prior to her starting primary school. We chose to return to the nursery due to their high level of personal care and attention to the children in the nursery. From both the
management and care staff they are very friendly, and the children always look to be having fun. All staff are great, and we would have no hesitation in strongly recommending the nursery to anyone with children in the area.

We have two children, 2 and 4 at the nursery and I have to say we have found it to be a great nursery, both kids really do enjoy it and the staff have always been great.
It’s not been an easy year with lockdown and isolation rules, it must have been a logistical nightmare but the nursery has seemed
to take it in their stride and has taken appropriate steps when required.
We have had to take our two out of nursery for a period due to having to shield, the nursery has always accommodated our requirements. The kids have sometimes found it hard to settle in due to the time out of nursery but the staff have always made a special effort to help their transition back to regular attendance.

We recently started our daughter in the baby room at the nursery, and in doing so, transitioned our 3-year-old into the preschool. We have been so delighted with the move, and thanks to the amazing, happy and helpful staff, the transition and new start have been seamless. My son is like a new boy after
starting; he loves it there so much, and his confidence has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are all so welcoming and really supported us, going out of their way to help with any concerns and settling in. We noticed how truly passionate and caring the staff are treating each child uniquely and really getting to know them rather than them being lost in the numbers. It's a true home from home feel. We're so happy we made the change and would really recommend the nursery. Additionally, I'm always amazed by the quality and variety of the food, and how they make the most of the fantastic outdoor space they have.

We initially chose this nursery because of the fantastic reputation it has within the village and surrounding areas. We were really impressed with the warm welcome, transparent communication and fantastic set-up when we visited to look around. I knew as soon as I met the staff, saw the baby room and
discovered the offer of childcare available that this was the nursery for us! The baby room allows for lots of adventure, a quiet sleeping area and access to a safe outdoor area. As the baby grows, they move into different more appropriate areas of the nursery. The location is ideal for us living in the area with helpful opening times.
Since starting the nursery, my daughter has developed her social skills, physical strength and confidence. She enjoys the great meals offered, which is a large variety of different foods. The nursery has worked within our daughter’s routines in order to assist with an easier transition.
The staff all take the right approach towards the children.

Our little girl has gone here from 10-months-old, and she’s now two and a half. She started in the baby room and absolutely loved it from day one; there’s no better feeling knowing your little one is happy and content to go into the nursery. The staff in the baby room are absolute angels. Being in the
baby room with those girls made our child flourish into a strong, confident and caring little girl. She’s now moved on to the toddler room, and the level of care and attention from all the girls in that room is still second to none! Our toddler struggled with the transition, which is completely normal and natural, and the staff really helped work with us to make sure. She began to understand and enjoy her new surroundings, and now she bounds in every morning, not even a look back. Thank you to the owner and manager for creating a safe environment full of love and respect. They’re not just a nursery; they’re family.

Our son adores going to nursery and literally runs in every day! (Toddler room)
All of the staff go over and above in every situation, and having a child with allergies, makes us feel he is in such safe and capable hands.

Our little girl has been in the baby room at Sir Leslie Martin Day Nursery for the past year, and she has loved every second! From the minute we walked into the nursery, we knew it was the right place for our little one. Sir Leslie Martin is a warm, friendly, loving environment, and the children are
happy and at home there. It really is a home from home, as the girls look after the children with such love, and they genuinely care about every single child.
Meals are nutritious, and as our little girl always seems to eat all that is offered to her, delicious too!
I would recommend this nursery to anyone and everyone.
