The nursery was established in 1990 and features an extensive outdoor area and well-resourced indoor rooms. The rooms have been carefully planned and equipped to maximise children's enjoyment of playing and learning.

My little boy loves nursery days, he recently moved into the toddler room and has built a lovely relationship with all the ladies in there! He used to get upset in the morning going in but now he’s in the room and sat down having his breakfast before Dad has even had a chance to put his coat on his
peg. Staff are 10/10, really informative, kind and helpful. The nursery setting is also a lovely environment, lots for the kids to do and learn.

My daughter started nursery here in October 2023, I cannot recommend it enough! Their staff are absolutely outstanding, my little one has learned so much and come so far within such a short time. From crying when first started to now walking in excited to start her day, they also keep you updated and
send pictures throughout the day. It’s honestly the most amazing nursery. Thank you to all staff for the amazing care and learning they provide.

My son absolutely loves his nursery, he can’t wait to get back again once he’s left. All the staff are very friendly, caring, helpful and always update you on your child’s day. There’s so much for kids to do, my son’s favourite is the big garden. My child’s confidence has gotten better and his speech
since he started nursery just over a year ago, plenty of friends made too. Glad I chose this nursery for my son.

Everyone at the nursery is amazing and friendly.
Very accommodating nursery in every way.
My 8-year-old went to this nursery and now my 2-year-old attends.
My 2-year-old is very challenging, he has severe eczema and multiple allergies. They apply his cream multiple times a day and ensure he is safe
in regards to his allergies. The cook is also amazing in terms of providing him fresh safe meals daily.
I can leave my son and know he will be safe, learn and have lots of fun. The staff look after each child as if they were one of their own.
I recommend this nursery to everyone.

Amazing care and learning experiences for my son, the staff go out of their way to make the children happy and ensure they have the best experience at nursery every day.

The staff at Bluebell Lodge were amazing over the years my son was there. They provided fantastic support not only to my son but also to us as his parents through the difficult process of getting my son into the correct school in relation to his SEN but also the amazing work they did with him throughout
his time there.
All staff are warm and welcoming, and you can tell how much they love all the children who walk through the door.
As much as my son is doing amazingly at school, I still miss him being at Bluebell.
Honestly cannot recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter joined Bluebell's baby room in 2023 and is now in the toddler room.
I could not ask for a better nursery for her! The staff are absolutely incredible and she runs in every morning with a big smile on her face ready to spend the day with her friends!
They are always busy doing fun and educational
activities whether it be painting in the toddler room, playing in the nursery grounds or visiting the local shops and library!

My little girl has been going to Bluebell Lodge since July 2022, she has come on leaps and bounds! I love hearing about her day and what adventures she has been on. The fact that she is being taught phonics now to get her used to a school setting, I think is brilliant, she's using numbers more and more.
We
love story time and talking about the book we have read, I also know nursery implement this too.
I'm kept up to date with her day via the app.
It is definitely one of the best, if not the best, nursery in the area. If I could keep my little girl there forever I sure would.

Although my child sometimes gets upset going into class in the morning she has always got the biggest smile on her face when I pick her up. She enjoys all the activities and feels comfortable with all the teachers. I feel happy and at ease knowing my child is safe and happy when she is there.

We are so happy with the nursery, the staff are so friendly, welcoming and really supportive. They go above and beyond and we couldn't ask for more. My little boy has so many opportunities when he is at nursery, he has learnt so much. The meals are also really nice and he eats a lot more at nursery

I was so impressed with the level of care both my girls received whilst they attended Bluebell Lodge nursery. The staff were all so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate my daughter, who has additional needs, putting in all of the support necessary for her and making her time at nursery enjoyable and adapted to her development.

My daughter has been very happy at Bluebell Lodge and has developed amazingly well with the help of all the staff. We have good and bad days when we arrive but the staff are brilliant at encouraging her into the room and making her feel safe on the bad days. My daughter has made lots of friends and
always talks about them outside of nursery. I'm always being kept up to date during the day with all activities and food that she has or hasn't eaten. I would not recommend any other nursery.

We cannot thank Kids Planet Bluebell Lodge enough. They have worked alongside us with our gentle parenting and let our son do things at his own pace which has worked wonders. They have always been there to support us. The children’s days are filled with fun and laughter and so much thought goes into
the different activities that are set up for the children. They are extremely privileged to have a forest school teacher and they spend lots of time outside in the extensive garden. My child couldn’t be happier and supported, and the same for us as parents. A wonderful, wonderful place for your children to be loved and nurtured.

My daughter has been to Bluebell for about 10 months now. I'm happy with everything they did. Took a bit of time for her to settle, but now she absolutely loves to go. She has developed her language communication really well, with a very good manner, and lots of activities they have every single day.
Definitely recommend to any parents.

Excellent nursery very professional at all times. My child has been at the nursery from a very young age, I was very nervous, the relationship with the nursery and staff help me with my compassion in my work career and I opened my own business. I could not have carried on without nursery, I had lots
of medical appointments with my child and nursery and all the staff were always there to help. My child has made lots of friends in the nursery and lots of Aunties and Uncles. My child has made lots of friends and is ready for next stage of primary school and hopefully, most of his nursery family will be joining his next journey in life. Thank you, Bluebell Lodge. Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2014

My name is Nicole Trafford. I have worked at Bluebell Lodge since May 2014, in that time I have worked my way up from Early Years Practitioner to Room Leader, Third in Charge, and Deputy Manager and I have finally achieved my goal of becoming a Nursery Manager in December 2024.


I have a BA Hons in Family Support and Wellbeing as well as a Level 3 in Early Years.
I have a little girl called Forrest, who also attends Bluebell Lodge Nursery, so I am very grateful to be able to still see her whilst I work Monday to Thursday.


In my spare time, I like to make memories with my daughter, as well as go for long walks in the lake district with my partner, Forrest and our Cavapoo Luna. I also love baking, especially baking cookies and decorating birthday cakes for my friends and family.
