Our experience at Busy Bees at Brooke Street has been fantastic, my daughter started in September 2020 and has loved every minute. The nursery do very well with reporting to parents what activities and meals our children have done and had throughout the day. I contacted nursery about my child having
Autism and they have been amazing with the process regarding helping and arranging extra help for my daughter. I am extremely grateful for this and it goes to show how much they care for the children they look after. The staff in themselves are fantastic, always helpful, always smiling, very approachable and make every process throughout nursery easy and helpful, making me very happy to leave my child with them due to the level of trust they have shown.

The staff are nothing but amazing, from workers in the rooms to management, I was extremely anxious about my daughter starting nursery and they reassured me in every area I was concerned with. They are all over her development and making sure she is happy, safe and learning. She fits right in and they
are happy to take my calls when I’m worrying, updating me via the app with what she’s doing and involving me in her nursery development. I’m overall really happy with the choice I made.

We have two daughters who attend Busy Bees at Brooke Street. They love being at nursery and look forward to their days there. They attend three full days a week. We love the updates and the pictures that we receive on the app. It is great to see that they are having fun whilst we are working. All the
staff are so caring with our girls and this is evident with how settled they are. When my eldest is asked who her friends are at nursery she also names the staff which I think is lovely. Thank you for all that you do.

Busy Bees at Brooke Street Chorley is a lovely, friendly nursery, and we have always felt that our little boy is safe and cared for here. The daily activities are varied and keep them entertained and making developmental progress. As a parent, it is hard to leave your little treasure in the hands of
people that you don't really know and feel comfortable with it. However, the staff at this nursery quickly feel like friends and have made us feel at ease in asking as many questions as we need to, and getting full updates at the end of every day to ensure that we know exactly what has been going on that day. The parent zone app is updated regularly so we can keep up with how he is getting on throughout the day. The staff really get to know the children and the parents and the care received is really personalised. The food is varied and healthy, the building is purpose-built and super clean. We would thoroughly recommend this nursery!

We started our little boy here at the beginning of October as I was going back to full-time work. We were very dubious as he has always had separation issues. But he has had a few cries, but the staff have always managed to distract and keep him busy. The center Manager is very helpful and has been
able to answer all our questions and concerns we've had. The staff in the baby room where our little boy is, are all absolutely lovely and keep us updated regarding any issues with him. We would highly recommend Busy Bees at Brooke Street.

My daughter started nursery this August just after the COVID-19 outbreak, and throughout registration of the nursery, we were put at ease for our daughter starting. She has settled in really well and enjoys her days within Brooke Street. We originally were only going to enrol a few days a week, but
have now increased to four as she loves it that much. The staff within the Baby room are so attentive, calm and reassuring and our daughter goes in with open arms in a morning. Her day is always fed back on pick up and the staff are so informative of her daily activities and fun play. The manager and admin are always on hand and have smiles on their faces at all times of the day. We monitor the I-Connect system where we can see her daily food, and activities and she looks like she is having a blast. The different meals our daughter receives is also a blessing, as she has helped support her through the weaning stages. Great first term within Busy Bees.

My experience of Busy Bees at Brooke Street has been excellent. My daughter has been coming since she was 10 months old and always skips into nursery with a huge smile on her face. The staff are extremely helpful and kind, nothing is too much trouble for them. The flexible hours option has been excellent
for us and very helpful with mine and my partners shift work. The facilities and activities the nursery provides are excellent also. Overall my experience with Busy Bees at Brooke Street has been very enjoyable and stress free.

My son has been going to Busy Bees at Chorley for nearly 3 years now and I can honestly say they are fantastic. All the staff are very enthusiastic and do an amazing job of supporting my son. All the rooms have plenty of activities appropriate to their age. The staff keep you fully updated to your child's
care and development with regular feedback. They have made us feel at ease from day 1 and I am confident that he is being given appropriate support for his development. My son looks forward to nursery and tells me all about his day. The days he does have a 'wobble' the staff show lots of affection to him and give him the confidence he needs. I feel the nursery is very well managed and nothing has been too much trouble for them.

Our eldest son attended Busy Bees full time from the age of 2 until he started school. Our second son, who is 2 years old now, is currently attending full time and has been since he was 7 months.
Every single member of staff is fully invested in making sure the children are happy and developing well
in all areas of learning. We couldn't be happier with our decision to send our children there.
Admin and managerial staff always respond to queries, questions and general chit chat with their full attention, details, justifications and a warm, friendly manner.
The safety of the children in their care is paramount.
Food is superb.
We are both teachers and we felt more than happy with how our son was prepared for school and the way in which transitions were managed was excellent.
They are always happy to work at the pace of each individual child, support parents in their approaches to sleep, food, toilet training etc. As well as providing advice when necessary.
Could not ask for more.

Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since attending Busy Bees. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Payments have been easy and staff have knowledge of 15 hours/30 hours etc. We as parents have been very impressed with busy bees.

My little boy started in the baby room in January when he was just 8 months old. When we come in in the morning every member of staff warmly greets him and my little boy just beams and gets all excited. Whilst we are at work myself and my husband are kept regularly updated on what he is up to through
the parent zone app. We also put home observations on the app so the staff can see what he had been up to at home, it's a great way of communicating. The standard of feedback at the end of the day is excellent, we love finding out about his day.
Another plus about the nursery is they offer extra activities, my little boy loves going to his Jazzy babes class which is run by a professional dance teacher.

Both my boys (2 and 4 years) come to this nursery and absolutely love it! My youngest was a bit unsettled when he first started but the staff in his room made a special effort to settle him asking about his likes. He was settled quickly and now runs into nursery each day. They both ask to go at weekends
too. They learn so much and always surprise me with the things they’ve learnt at nursery. Cannot praise the staff enough for the work and effort they put in everyday!

My eldest daughter came here in March 2015 to September 2016 with her younger sister starting in April 2017. The reasons for choosing this nursery over others due to its separate rooms for different ages/stages and large outside. At other nurseries, they can group 2-4-year-olds together.
At Busy Bees
at Brooke Street, children are with their peers and group activities are not limited.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Our daughter started nursery at aged 18 months, we were extremely worried about her settling in at this age, however, the nursery accommodated us throughout a settling in period and it was tailored to our child. She absolutely loves going to nursery and relates really well to her Key Staff in the room.

We can see what she has been learning by using the Parent Zone app and as I work away sometimes, as a parent, this really reassures me too.

My daughter has been attending Busy Bees at Brooke Street since she was 5 months old. She has an amazing bond with all staff, particularly her key person and is always happy to go to nursery. She has made leaps of progress in her development since going to nursery and having the Parent Zone app to see
photos of her at nursery and receive daily information about her throughout her nursery day is brilliant. I am very pleased with the level of care and service we receive and couldn't recommend the nursery enough.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.263)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.263) out of 10 for Busy Bees Brooke Street is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Busy Bees Brooke Street is calculated as follows: ( (108 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.263 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Brooke Street is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 124 number of registered child places is 24.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 24.8 = 0.363

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Danielle Lomax

Job Title: Centre Director

Hello, my name is Danielle and I have worked for Busy Bees for over 15 years starting out as an apprentice gaining both my level 2 and then level 3 qualification in childcare. Following this I progressed in my career within the company moving from room manager to senior and assistant manager over 3 of our Centres whilst also completing my leadership and management qualification with Busy Bees.

In January 2023 I became the Centre Director at Chorley Brooke Street and have since enjoyed working with and leading the long-serving and dedicated staff team we have here. We pride ourselves on our passion and dedication to all our children and families and our curriculum focuses on providing every child with the experiences, environments and care that supports them not just throughout their time with us but as they then begin their journey onto school.

The children are at the heart of everything we do here at Chorley Brooke Street and we can’t wait to show you around our centre.
