Nuffy Bear Day Nursery Cottingley is a high-quality early years childcare provision based on the site of Nuffield Health’s Cottingley Fitness and Wellbeing gym. Babies from 3 months to 2 years, toddlers from 2 - 3 years and pre-schoolers from 3 - 5 years are all welcome to enjoy their first-rate facilities and stimulating environments, which provide fun and learning for inquisitive little minds.

The nursery benefits from enclosed outdoor garden, freshly prepared home cooked meals and snacks (special dietary requirement are always catered for), brand new resources, free swimming lessons, free all day parking for nursery parents who may commute to work and a free gym membership with every full-time place.

They accept standard free childcare (15 hours funding) and the extended 30 hours free childcare (funding).

We send both our 4-year-old and our 11-month-old sons to Nuffy Bear. The staff go out of their way to care and nurture them. They tell us stories each day about how the boys get on. They are quick to respond to queries and get to know our children's personalities. We are really grateful for all their
support.

I can't thank Nuffy Bear Day Nursery enough for everything they do for myself and my son who attends, the staff all go above and beyond for every child. My son loves attending the nursery, especially when I was so worried about him starting and being away from me as he has additional needs, they were
very understanding and listened to my concerns. I never expected the experience we have with the nursery, my worries and concerns went away after seeing my son settle in so well. I would highly recommend to everyone who is looking for a nursery to put their children in.
A big thank you to all the Nuffy Bear Nursery staff.

My son loves coming to Nuffy Bear Cottingley. The staff are absolutely fantastic with him and his needs. Nothing is too much trouble. At the start of his nursery days it was a worry (mum anxiety) how he would settle in. Thank goodness he had the loving care of the nursery staff who always reassured
me. I'm so happy he is taken care of in a nurturing way.

Our son has settled into the baby room so well and the staff have been amazing with him. His development has been great and the environment is very welcoming. He can't wait for the summer months to be able to play in the outside space and go for more walks around the lake.

Excellent nursery.
Provided extra settling-in sessions when my daughter struggled.
Moved her up to the toddler room early when she clearly needed it, and she loves it.
Very flexible and accommodating, if possible, for extra ad-hoc sessions.
Sensible approach when a child is unwell.

My daughter has been attending Nuffy Bear for the past two years, and my 14-month-old for the past three months. They both love all the staff at Cottingley, and they are all so incredibly supportive. They all always have a smile on their face, which makes drop-off that little bit easier! The staff work
so hard in helping the children learn and develop through guided play, independent play and conversation. Any points in my little ones' development that I have been working on at home, I have mentioned to the staff, and they implement ways to help them at nursery, which is definitely helping with their progress. They all go above and beyond for the little ones, and it is reflected in how happy they are at nursery. Thank you to all the staff at Cottingley for all your hard work.

My daughter joined at 10 months and she’s now just over 2 - she is so excited to go every week, she squeals as we enter the car park. They do so much everyday! Staff are great, communication is really good. The rooms, equipment and whole environment is spotless - would highly recommend.

Our son has been at Nuffy Bear Day Nursery for 7 months now - we can see the care that every person at the nursery puts into his well-being and time there. He loves going so much that we never have any tantrums at drop-off - he’s straight into playing. We really like the regular development updates
that we get from his key worker and that we get requests for input into his education every month. We can see how he is developing and being around the other children is really helping him progress.

My little boy started when he was 6 months old and I was very nervous about him settling in. The ladies were absolutely brilliant with him and now one month later he is all smiles during drop-off and pickup! I am kept updated by the app and I get photos and videos throughout the day so I can see what
he is doing which really helps calm my mama nerves down!

Helpful and friendly staff, who genuinely care about my daughter.
The setting is very welcome with lots of toys and activities.
Lovely grounds. The pond makes for great walks and my daughter likes spotting the geese that nest here each year.

Our son has always enjoyed his time at Nuffy Bear. We looked for a nursery which could offer our child lots of activities because he is always on the go! He has attended for 2 years now. Recently, the manager and staff have been working super hard to get a good Ofsted following a shocking result from
a previous inspection. As a parent I was shocked at the result because I know that my child is very happy there, so felt the previous result was an unfair reflection. Ofsted result now is good following a recent inspection and this reflects the environment. The staff really care about the children, plan lots of activities to keep them entertained and the food options are very good. Our son has some allergies and the nursery work with us through the process of elimination and tailors his diet accordingly. He is always happy to go to nursery, has made some lovely little friends and loves the staff, in particular his key worker. Great little nursery.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I have worked in Early Years for the past 18 years. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to work with young people. So when I left school I knew exactly which path I wanted to take. I qualified as a Level 3 practitioner, I found work here in Cottingley and I've been here ever since. I have always been passionate about supporting babies and young children with their learning and developing, paying particular attention to patterns in behaviour and for what each child needs individually to thrive. I love watching the children in our care grow and being a part of that support network for their families.
18 years I have worked at Nuffy Bear previously known as Cottingley Manor and I have enjoyed every minute.
As I progressed through my career I knew that I wanted to share that knowledge I have gained during that time with other practitioners so that together we can achieve great outcomes for all children.
