Farthing Wood is a friendly day nursery situated in the centre of Skircoat Green, near to the Copley site Lloyd's Banking group and the general Hospital. The nursery is owned by sisters Claire Westwood and Emma Hand and managed by Adele Carney.

Farthing Wood Nursery prides itself on the quality and consistency of care they provide. Each child in the setting will start a Learning Journey of their time and their Key Person will provide a safe, secure and supported environment to ensure your child benefits from their time at nursery.

They acknowledge that children's childhood experiences are crucial and assist them in their future transition through life. Highly qualified staff are positive role models to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.

Fantastic nursery. My daughter attended for three years and now my baby boy has just started there.
The staff are pleasant and make you feel totally at ease leaving your child there.
I know my little boy has a lovely time whilst he's there. The nursery provides lots of stimulating activities for him.
The
food is great I've never known him not to finish a meal there! Great choice of food! Would highly recommend.

This is a very good nursery, friendly staff, and good facilities. Gave my child a good grounding before school, I have had two children at Farthing Wood nursery now and would highly recommend this nursery.

Excellent nursery. All three of my children have attended this nursery and my youngest still attends. The staff are genuinely caring, approachable and very accommodating. Well done to the team for all their hard work.

I have 3 children who have all attended and still attend Farthing Wood Nursery and now the out of school club. The staff are always friendly and happy and go that extra mile for the children. Including learning to look after a child with both medical, sensory and educational additional needs. I can
fully trust leaving my children with the staff and have no reason to worry. They are very flexible especially at short notice and my children love going to Farthing Wood.

My daughter attends Farthing Wood and she absolutely loves it.
I looked around 5 other local nurseries and Farthing Wood just gave me that feeling. The staff are warm, friendly and go above and beyond to nature my daughter.
I couldn't recommend them enough.

A really great nursery for my kids. Both my daughters have been there and my son is now receiving care from there. The staff are really good and listen to the parents and support you including running many themed days and events.

As a teacher, I spent a lot of time weighing up what the right childcare options were for my family. From the moment I visited Farthing Wood, I felt nothing was too much trouble and no question was too daft!
The nursery isn't too big so you soon get to know all the staff (as well as many of the other
parents and children). The staff are all warm and friendly and really put us at ease from our very first visit. It is clear from when you walk in that they have a fabulous rapport with each and every child. My little boy (now 2) has been attending since he was 9 months old and it has been great to share his experiences through the daily routine sheets, learning journey and Farthing Wood Facebook page.
My family and I are grateful for all the hard work of the nursery team and would definitely recommend this setting to local families.

Two of my daughters attended Farthing wood. They were very happy going there and enjoyed the time they spent there. I found the staff very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and kind. My daughters spent time doing many fun activities, a lot of these were in preparation for EYFS at school but never beyond
what the child could do. I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

Farthing Wood nursery is excellent my daughter she is coming on and learning things all the time, she in the toddler's group and she can't wait until she back in the toddler group. She only goes on a Wednesday and Thursday all day she started going before her first birthday. She is learning new things
all the time and you can tell has her conference has grown. The staff are excellent with my daughter and the rest of the group

I would highly recommend Farthing Wood Day Nursery. We first started using this nursery 8 years ago for our daughter. After looking around a few at the time we decided this was the one, the staff were really friendly polite and welcoming. We were really apprehensive about leaving her at first but this
soon passed and she settled in brilliantly and she loved it. She is now 8 and excelling at school and I do believe Farthing wood played a huge role in her learning and development.
We are now back at Farthing Wood with our son, 3 years on and we didn't feel the need to look elsewhere, he has also really settled in.
The staff are slightly different but as always, welcoming and friendly. No complaints at all, very understanding and flexible if they are needed to be.
We currently have a 3-month-old son now too and there is no doubt he will follow in his sibling's footsteps to the door of Farthing Wood.

I would highly recommend this nursery. My child has been attending Farthing Wood for 6 months now and I couldn't ask for a much more happier environment for him to be in. He is always really excited to go and always looks like he has had a great day when I collect him. I never worry about him throughout
the day as I know he is in good hands. The staff are very lovely, polite and caring and always make the time to tell me about his day. Every time I collect my child from nursery, he always talks about his time at nursery and what he's been playing with! I am really happy that I have found this nursery for my child! My child enjoys playing out in the outdoor area. I am really happy with all the care my child's getting from Farthing Wood! Thanks!! Thumbs up guys. Would recommend this nursery to everyone out there who's looking for a place for their child!

Myself and my children love this nursery. We travel from Boothtown as I thought the facilities were great. It's an excellent nursery, very clean. They also have an outdoor play area, with lots of toys to stimulate the children! The staff here are brilliant too. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Farthing Wood are an astounding group of women who do everything I could ever ask for my daughter and more. They're flexible, kind, caring and above all else, my daughter wants to go to nursery each day! As a father, I can ask for little more than knowing, 100%, that my daughter is safe and happy while

My two nephews come to this nursery. They are extremely happy and settled really well. The staff are very friendly, approachable and professional at all times. I am kept up to date via a daily routine sheet. My nephews always talk highly of the staff and can't wait to tell me all about their day.

Every time I visit Farthing Wood I am welcomed into the nursery by the staff members who are extremely polite and welcoming.
My niece has been attending Farthing Wood since she was 8 months old and is now in Pre-school preparing to start Primary School. I am kept up to date with her progress on a
daily basis and she has a learning journey with overall details. I couldn't be any happier with the care received at Farthing Wood and will always recommend them.

My 17 month old daughter has attended the nursery for 8 months now and had really developed in this time. Her character is starting to shine and I'm sure the staff at Farthing Wood have contributed towards this. They are very friendly and my daughter seems to get on well with them all which makes the

My daughter has been going to Farthing Wood for four months since the age of 7 months old and has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are all very friendly and loving and my daughter enjoys going to see them twice a week. The facilities are excellent. she is always fed good, healthy meals and often
comes home with mementoes of the day's activities. I could not recommend Farthing Wood highly enough.

Adele

Adele Carney

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2007

Adele is the manager here at farthing wood. Adele has been with us since 2007 where she began as an apprentice. Adele was then promoted to manager in 2012. She is currently qualified to level 4 in Early Years. She has gained a breadth of experience and knowledge through various additional training courses. She updates her knowledge annually.


Adele is the designated safeguarding officer and SEN-Co-ordinator. Adele is a mum to one little boy.
