Bradley House Nursery was established in 1990. With over 20 years' experience, their philosophy is 'to provide a happy and safe environment with a range of stimulating activities which encourage the children to learn through play.' The nursery has an experienced team of fully qualified staff.

Set in detached premises in a quiet, leafy residential area of Huddersfield, Bradley House Nursery is spread over two floors, the ground floor accommodating babies and toddlers and the lower ground floor accommodating children aged between two and four years.

Both floors offer a wide range of learning experiences and outside they have a large garden space with plenty of opportunities for the children to investigate and explore. The setting is truly unique and has become a home away from home for the children.

Take a look at the Bradley House Nursery Facebook page to see all the fun the children have at nursery, or call to find out more.

My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery at Bradley House. She can't wait to get inside when I take her out the car!
She has a fun filled day while she learns and develops.
I love the updates and photos I get on the app daily and am very impressed by the dairy free menu provided in the baby room.
I
would highly recommend Bradley House Nursery to everyone!

Our daughter has been attending Bradley House Nursery since July 2023 when she was 9 months old. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. Our daughter always goes in with a smile on her face and leaves with an even bigger smile. The staff have been amazing in helping her settle in and have made the process
so easy for us as first-time parents. Her development has come on leaps and bounds since attending and the activities and meals are always excellent and fun. You can tell the staff love their jobs and the children as they make everyday so much fun and keep the parents up to date with the goings on in their children's lives. I cannot thank and recommend this nursery enough!

Our experience with Bradley House Nursery has been exceptional. My son has really flourished while being in the care of quality staff members who have gone above and beyond for the children.
Information gets disseminated quickly and if I have a question, the response comes back in a good time frame.
My son's progress report is written well and I am able to understand what the focus may be or improvements in preparation for school in September.

I couldn’t thank Bradley House Nursery enough for helping my son develop more with his speech and communication. He has come along so much more with their support! They are so accommodating and the meals are so nutritious! I looked at a few nurseries before I sent my child here and by far the best experience.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.691)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.691) out of 10 for Bradley House Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.767 for Bradley House Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.767

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.924 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bradley House Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 number of registered child places is 11.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.8 = 0.424

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I joined Portland Nurseries in 2023 as Nursery Manager for Bradley House. I started my childcare journey in 2010 when I enrolled in a childcare apprenticeship with Shipley College. After qualifying in 2013, I spent 6 years working in nurseries and taking on many different roles from room senior to deputy manager, SENDCo, outdoor play lead and everything in between. My experience with different nurseries provided me with a depth of knowledge on child development and supporting children’s learning through play. I took a break from nurseries to travel and spent 4 years working onboard a cruise ship as a Youth Activities Manager. Although I enjoyed travelling the world and being able to explore some amazing places, I realised I missed working directly with children and being able to teach those key skills in their early stages of development.

Outside of Nursery I have a passion for travelling, I love to explore new places. Whether it's sightseeing, tasting local delicacies or just soaking up the sun in beautiful surroundings, I can often be found on a plane venturing to different places around the world. When I remain in the country, I continue to enjoy being outdoors and exploring the lovely scenery England has to offer. I have been known to tread the boards in amateur pantomime and for 11 years raised money for a range of charities whilst entertaining on stage.
