Your Co-op Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-school Dewsbury and their children love playing outside in their science garden, complete with a bug house, compost bins and space for growing plants and veg (don't worry, they'll clean them up before it's time for home!).

They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They also have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children, such as encouraging them to express their feelings and making a difference in the world.

They hold the Green Flag Status Award (the highest possible) in the prestigious Green Flag Eco-schools programme which is an internationally recognised award where children lead the way in making a difference to the environment.

Their ParentZone app keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery and includes photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They have three bright and spacious rooms; one room for younger children up to two-years-old, one room for two to three-year-olds and a final room for more active three to five-year-olds. All rooms have direct access to the outdoors allowing children to freely move between their rooms and the garden whenever they wish.

My Son loves going to nursery, he has learnt how to use his knife and fork at nursery. He sings 'Wind the Bobbin Up' when we pull into nursery and gets excited. The staff at the nursery are brilliant with him, I see him wanting to cuddle the staff when he is leaving just like he does with his family.
It is very reassuring.

My son is now in his last month of Preschool at The Co-operative Nursery after over 3 years there.


I currently work in education and I can agree completely with the Outstanding grading but outstanding every day. The staff are superb and a special mention to my son's key worker, who is brilliant.

He has come on leaps and bounds with his learning and is now ready for primary school. The staff are superb and I will certainly be sending my next child there and recommending it to my family and friends.


Thank you for The Co-operative and the brilliant staff.

I can not recommend this nursery highly enough. My little boy has been going here for 3 years since he was 9 months old, and I knew from the initial visits and settling in days that this was the nursery for us. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly, approachable and professional and the play spaces/rooms
are all bright and colourful and well equipped for play and learning. Even from day one, there have never been any concerns with leaving our little boy there as we know he will be well looked after and have his needs met. Communication between the nursery and parents is excellent - always a quick bit of feedback at pick up time to say how the day went plus regular parents evenings to go over progress and a chance to see their files. My son loves going and has progressed well with his learning over the 3 years. He has a good relationship with his key worker and I know we will all be sad when it comes to leaving for school in September.

Superb communication and support from staff. I have especially enjoyed the advice provided to help me help my 3 and a half year old at home. My 5-month daughter will also start soon and the registration etc has been stress-free, quick and very reassuring. We have been blessed with this nursery and I
would recommend to any new parent.


As a way of improving support, I would ask for a more coordinated approach to homework for pre-schoolers. It is provided, but a more structured programme to support activities taking place at nursery would be very helpful. I appreciate the children are young and it is better not to place pressure on them to complete but my daughter enjoys the activities and looks forward to presenting her homework. The weeks we have submitted homework, the nursery has been very supportive and complimentary and I know this really helps develop my daughter further. We thank the nursery for these opportunities.

I was naturally very anxious looking for nursery provision for my little boy. After all, I was making the all important decision of moving him from the daytime comfort of grandma's house to the hands of an external care provider. They say first impressions count. I instantly knew on our first visit
that The Co-operative Childcare Dewsbury Moor was the one or us! It was clean, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere felt happy, calm and safe. The building is neat and smart and all rooms were well organised. The toys, equipment and furniture were all good quality and good condition. All members of staff are always pleasant, professional and caring. There appears to be a good staff to children ratio. Overall I'm impressed with this nursery.

My son attends the nursery and he absolutely loves every minute of it ... he has a really close bond with his key worker which I think has really helped with his moving from the baby room and up. His speech has developed a lot since starting at the nursery and they provide so many activities for him
to try and do and when I pick him up they inform me straight away of all the things he's done and it makes me so proud.

I did a lot of research before sending my children to a nursery. Given the fact I was working, The Co-operative Childcare Dewsbury Moor Nursery facilitated the hours I wanted and offer a very flexible pick up and drop off the other nursery restricted.
I felt it was important my children would receive
outstanding learning in a stimulating and healthy environment. The Co-operative Childcare Dewsbury Moor Nursery is very structured in how it interacts with each class and has a set routine which is highly important yet delivers learning to each child tailored to their interest. I sent all 3 of my children to this nursery because they were fed nutritious food and snacks (full of variety), they have amazing staff that love their job and really show an interest in each child's development. Furthermore, it's parent-led! The feedback after each day places confidence in the organisation and the staff.
