Nursery Rhymes is located on the edge of Fartown in Huddersfield and has been providing high-quality childcare since 1994. The nursery offers full day care and out of school care for children under the age of 11.

The nursery is a converted house with a number of vibrant and inspiring rooms which allow the children to explore, develop and learn in a diverse environment.

An on-site cook prepares healthy, nutritionally balanced and enjoyable meals for the children from fresh, wholesome ingredients. The menu is checked by the environmental health department to ensure the meals are well balanced, providing the essential nutrients to support child growth at a crucial time.

Staff at the nursery have a real passion for the outdoors and offer an enhanced curriculum with forest school sessions available. Children are given lots of opportunity to get creative, with woodwork, loose parts play.

Nursery Rhymes has embedded the curiosity approach, where modern toys and technology are removed from the learning environment and replaced with everyday items to encourage children's natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create.   

The nursery works in close partnership with parents and carers, maintaining strong, open and honest working relationships and good communication through regular newsletters, email updates, parents zone electronic journal, child's learning journals that can be accessed in the child's room and also parents' evenings.

Funding & Fees Guide for Nursery Rhymes

  • Nursery Fees from April 2024:


    Under 3's: Full time (Monday - Friday) £300 / Full Day £63/ Half Day £37
    Over 3's: Full time (Monday - Friday) £295 / Full Day £62 / Half Day £36
    Hourly Rate £8.50

  • Morning session - 7:30am - 12:30pm / Afternoon session - 1:00pm - 6:00pm. They offer 15 Hours funding for two and three year olds and 30 hours funding for 3-4 year olds.
    Fully Funded 30 hours places are subject to a sundries charge of £1.50 per hour for example 23 hours £34.50 10 hours £15.

I am very satisfied with your service and my child has improved in many ways, for example learning fast, listening, behaviour and less fear playing with other children. He has also learned songs and picked up words very fast. Overall, I am happy with Nursery Rhymes' service.

My baby (8 months) has started baby room, absolutely love the staff and how well they treated him, everything is done according to his needs and he loves everyone there. Staff are brilliant, love everything that they do, made me feel well reassured that my son is settled well and that i don't have to
worry about him every 5mins. Feedback I get is brilliant. Many thanks to everyone, words can't describe how much I appreciate everything. Hats off to all Nursery Rhymes staff.

I cannot imagine a better place for my children. The staff at Nursery Rhymes are adorable, my boys love them. All very professional and dedicated to their job with great ideas and true passion towards teaching and taking care of children. They are always helpful, ready to assist in any challenging circumstances.
As a single parent to a child with special needs, I cannot be more sure that my son is in the right place with the right caretakers. They have gone extra mile to support us through the journey making learning fun and stress free. My older son is about to start his reception and will greatly miss everybody. He has learnt so much there that he is definitely ready for the next step.

Amazing nursery, very understanding and caring staff. You know your child is in safe hands here, they are absolutely lovely.
I love how they concentrate on a child's development and work on what they need to improve on, they also keep you very well informed about your child's day, I would definitely
recommend them.

My son adores all the staff here and has developed mentally and physically a lot since starting. He feels safe and enjoys his time with the other children and staff. I couldn't think of a better nursery to send him to.

We picked this nursery for its baby room, which has a lovely feel to it, the staff are great with our son who took a while to settle but absolutely loves going now which is down to how much effort the staff went to settling him in. The outside facilities are good and our son loves the meals as well
and seems to do a good range of activities every day.

My son has been going to Nursery Rhymes now since January 2017. In the short time of him being here, he has come on leaps and bounds. All of my family have seen a change in him, his development has come on amazingly. I have noticed his speech is improving so well and his social skills are so much better,
he listens so much better and is in a really good routine as a result of the nursery. All the staff are lovely and he loves his key worker and is always talking about her at home and shouting for her. On his first day of going, he was very teary and quite attached to me but after a few days of going he says bye and runs off to play with the other children. Would definitely recommend this nursery. All activities that are set in place here are brilliant and I love him going there.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 9 months old and it has the best decision I made to pick this nursery.
The staff and manager are excellent. The service they provide is second to none. Never had an issue and they have been dealt with promptly. I know my little girl is in safe hands.

Hi, My Name is Nicola and I have been the Nursery Rhymes Manager for over 10 years I have over 20 years of experience in Early years.


As the manager of Nursery Rhymes, I'm passionate about delivering an inclusive and cohesive curriculum for all and ensuring the quality of teaching is first within all areas of the setting.


I have my BA in Early Years as well as my Early Years Teacher Status and foundation degree in Early Years.
I'm very passionate about the outdoors and am a Qualified Forest School practitioner.


As a manager of an early years provision, I'm passionate about delivering an inclusive and cohesive curriculum for all.


I love all kinds of natural learning and recently learnt to be a florist I enjoy crafts and enjoy creating and spending time outside.
