Great nursery, both my children have attended from young ages. The staff are lovely and go above and beyond for the children, they show so much care and compassion. All staff are very good with communication and keeping you updated. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with the help of these lovely
ladies. She loves them all, however has a lovely relationship with her key worker. 10/10 would recommend to anyone..

Such a wonderful nursery with caring staff. Setting and resources are varied and age appropriate and the interests of the children are followed. The nursery is also accommodating and flexible to suit the needs of working parents. Very pleased my son has a place here and he is always happy and tired out
after a day here. Thank you!

Fantastic nursery, helped my children so much. All members of the staff are very polite and very easy to get along with, very good at communication and very good at their jobs. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone I talk to. Thanks for all the hard work you put into my children.

Excellent nursery for children to start their journey in education! Our child loves being there and enjoys interacting with the teachers and his classmates - highly recommend it. The curriculum is comprehensive, and every child is supported according to their own personal needs to ensure success in
reception.

Very supportive staff, particularly one member of staff, who had a great bond with my daughter and was very helpful and supported her and made my child feel less anxious/scared. Generally, good. A nice nursery setting and welcoming.

I wanted to submit a review for this nursery for a long time, but finally, there is a platform to do so.
My child started going there when she was 2 years old and continued until we had to relocate to a different country. She loves everything about the nursery. The fact that she still talks about the
teachers after leaving the place for almost five months now, is a testimony to the quality of the teachers. The nursery was a part of our life and we miss it very much. I recommend Burnmantofts Community Nursery, from the core of my heart and wish all the very best for them.

Could not fault, Burmantofts Community Nursery. Looked after my son since he was a baby. Absolutely amazing staff, who brought my son on leaps and bounds, before he started school. Even got him extra learning stuff, to help with where he was behind, ready for school. Never had a worry whilst he was
at the nursery, hence the reason he stayed for such a long time.

My son attended nursery for one academic year at Burmantofts and had the most wonderful time. All staff were friendly and really went out of their way to support me as a working mum. They were always bright and cheery and also really diligent in making sure he was well looked after. He was given creative
opportunities every day and his dietary needs were met with understanding. He also loved mixing with the older boys and girls in the nursery and I really believe this is why he's so buoyant and resilient now, as a toddler. We only left due to relocation, but I could not recommend this nursery more highly. Having experienced several childcare settings, I found Burmantofts to be the most down-to-earth, practical and caring. A brilliant combination when you need assurance about your child's well-being, as well as the confidence to go to work and be kept in the loop about their activities and daily triumphs.

My little boy has been going to Burmantofts Community Nursery now, for well over a year. My little boy was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and the nursery staff have been amazing and still continue to be amazing! The staff have introduced so many things that have helped my little boy so much
and I couldn't thank them all, enough! Such a great nursery with lots of activities and even a sensory room, for when the child wants a little time out. I am so glad I chose Burmantofts Community Nursery, for my little boy!

As a person who came from Dubai and has always been to private school, we had timings for school, such as 7 till 2pm but pick up should have been later than 2pm, couldn't even be collected 1 minute earlier. So when I went to collect my girl 2 minutes late on the first occasion, myself and also my and
wife both were not aware that we could pick her up earlier, as we believed it was 3 hours fixed daily but therefore couldn't be collected before time.
My daughter was hurt in just her second week in this nursery and cut below the eye. They made my wife sign a declaration without me knowing anything about it. Not safe for children as the cut below the eye was during teachers being present. Very poor management skills.

Reply from Neil Diamond, Chair of Trustees at Burmantofts Community Nursery

The nursery is a vibrant and active learning place for up to 52 children per day. For operational reasons we need parents to collect children in a prompt and punctual manner. Ratios and staff welfare can be affected by carers turning up late. Fortunately, this is respected by the majority of users. Our policy offers a warning in the first instance but then a monetary fine is levied thereafter.
The incident regarding the scratch was recorded as part of our Accident, Incident and Injury policy whereby this was recorded, acted upon with any mitigating actions and feedback to the parents. We ask that a parent signs the accident form to acknowledge that we have shared the incident and the actions. This policy sits within our overall Safeguarding strategy.
We have recently been inspected by Ofsted (March 2022) which reported that children are happy and enjoy their time in this well planned and inviting environment and engage in a range of activities and experiences.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.936)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.936) out of 10 for Burmantofts Community Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.915 for Burmantofts Community Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.915

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.021 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Burmantofts Community Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 number of registered child places is 9.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.6 = 0.521

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
