My daughter started at Hillside Childcare - Whitwood just after her first birthday. She loves going to nursery and only took a few weeks to settle. She has some allergies and I feel confident the nursery takes these seriously and keeps me updated in any cases of reactions and try and pin point what
could have caused something.

I have my twins going to Hillside Nursery since Nov 2022, and I am proud they have settled very well, they are very happy.
The educators are doing great job, specially with language, translating from English to Romanian many activities.
I am very satisfied with the staff and keep doing great job.

My son is almost three and has been going to Whitwood since he was 11 months old, and he's loved it from day one and has made lots of lovely connections with the staff. They look after him and care for him, which makes us as parents more than happy to send him there. He has learned so much in his time
there and can't wait for more.

My son has been going to Hillside Childcare - Whitwood for 19 months. He loves it. The staff are all amazing and he has made close bonds with them which is very reassuring for me. They are very accommodating with my shift work and I wouldn't want him to go anywhere else. I feel like he is in good hands
when in their care and most importantly he is happy and comfortable there too. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been in the nursery for just over two months now and has settled in wonderfully. I can't thank the staff enough for how amazing they have been with helping my little girl to settle in at only 8 months old and being a first time mum I wasn't sure how she would be but I couldn't have asked
for anything more. Her educators provide many amazing learning opportunities for her, I know she is well cared for and they are always there to offer support or give useful advice. When I drop my daughter off in the morning, I can see how much she adores the staff and even gets upset when it's time to go home! Thank you for making my little girl feel so settled and making us as first time parents feel so at ease.

Fantastic nursery and staff! We have attended here since 2019 and our daughter has really developed her skills after attending here as a home from home care service is provided. All staff really care about the children and the thought and care taken in the settings and activities provided are fantastic!

My daughter always comes out with a big smile on her face. Since she started she has made so much progress in all areas and educators are always looking at ways to continue with her development in individual areas she needs. Educators are so very caring and nurturing, especially when my daughter needs
a cuddle when being dropped off. The app that nursery use is really useful, all assessments are sent on here and I regularly get an insight to what my daughter is doing with photos. Staff are always happy to chat about their day when collecting and nothing ever seems too much of an ask.
The new space and facilities at the new setting are so lovely, open and warm. I can wait for my daughter to transition over, I know she will love it.

Fantastic nursery and brilliant staff, my son went to Hillside Private Day Nursery - Whitwood and the improvement in his social skills and overall learning was superb. My daughter now attends and I feel confident in her adapting in her learning and social skills. Hillside at Whitwood are relocating
just down the road. I viewed this yesterday and it is breathtaking! I can't wait to see my daughter adapt to the stunning new location.

My son has been at this daycare now since 2020 and he loves it there. The staff are amazing and have built great relationships with him to help support his growth.
The extra mile they go to support my son with his hearing issue at present is has been so amazing.
On top of that, you can see the investment
they have made in the business looking at the new site that they move to next week. My son can't wait.

Hillside Private Day Nursery - Whitwood as a whole is a fantastic nursery and I would recommend it to anyone.
The staff throughout baby room, play room and pre-school have always been great with my little girl. She has always been taken care of and had her needs met. She has had fun and the updates
we get show how well she has done at the setting.
The space and facilities the nursery have are good and they have themes throughout the year depending on the time of the year which is lovely.
When it is my little girl's turn to leave Hillside I will be gutted and no doubt she will be. The staff care and this shines through the bonds created with the children.

My son has been at Hillside since he was 11 months old and in the baby room. He has come on so much since he started at Hillside. The staff in the baby room were so caring and tentative with him they gave him the best start and me the piece of mind that he was safe and happy whilst I'm at work. Now
he has moved to the playroom, they are great at creating child led activities that cater to the children's interests and help them build great relationships. He always looks forward to nursery and loves telling us about everything he has done each day. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work! We can't wait to move to the new building and see how he thrives even more.

My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was a baby. She is now 4 and is in her final months before school. The nursery is a fantastic place and every single person that works there is brilliant with parents and the kids. My daughter loves it and talks loads after every day of the activities

Since my son started in September, the nursery has encouraged him to develop in all areas, and they don't only just work with the children, they're great at working with the parents as well. The team and setting overall are amazing, my first child when to Hillside Private Day Nursery and now my second
child is attending there and I wouldn't have him in another setting, they are great.

My daughter loves it at Hillside Private Day Nursery. At the start she was very shy as she's never been in a setting with lots of children before but it didn't take her long to settle in and the educators helped her so much with this, she now runs in. I'm provided with updates throughout the day on
my child and love all the things she brings home that she made at nursery. All the staff are lovely and are always telling me what she's been up to during the day and the healthy meals she's had. She already can't wait to get into their new nursery at the wheat sheaf it looks amazing.

My child has been at Hillside Private Day Nursery - Whitwood since March 2021, starting in the baby room. It was a difficult start due to Covid and not being able to take him in and look around, but all the staff were so reassuring and I always felt he was in safe hands.
My son has additional needs
and I have been blown away with how his key workers and management have adjusted anything and everything he needs to make things easier and more settling for him. The manager has been incredible with assisting with my son's Mysupport plan and EHCP (education, health and care plan) and just makes things so much easier during a challenging phase for us. We don't ever want him to leave! It's his happy place after home which means the world to us! Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for him and us!

I know my daughter is well looked after at Hillside. I get updates whilst she's there, and she talks to me about her friends and the educators afterwards and always comes home happy. The educators take a genuine interest in her, and I have and will continue to recommend Hillside.

One word fantastic! After having to move my twin girls from another setting to this one I've got nothing but positive feedback. For the first time I feel happy knowing my girls are safe, well looked after and happy within their placement! Would recommend to anyone! The staff are amazing, the meals every

Fantastic setting for a nursery, all the assistants are helpful with a smile always on their faces. Makes dropping my child off in the morning less of a worry knowing that they will always be cared for. Moving to the new nursery will be amazing just sad that the outdoor space has been cut off.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Brogan Maclean is the nursery manager at Kids Planet Whitwood.


Brogan has worked for the Whitwood setting for 10 years, holding a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and having experience in many different roles throughout her time at the setting. Brogan holds a huge passion for all things early years and enjoys being hands-on in the rooms engaging with the children and supporting her team. She believes in a family friendly approach where everyone feels welcome and has fun!
