Busy Bees Harrogate Hornbeam Park was the first purpose-built addition to this growing range of day nurseries, constructed to a design that maximises space, light and freedom of movement.

From birth to preschool age, children enjoy extensive play resources and activities that will inspire their creative ability, together with the key skills they need to progress towards school.

Security and staffing is monitored at all times, an entry system is in place and play equipment has been designed to suit the highest safety standards.

An exceptional nursery whose staff go above and beyond in every way, nurturing, educating and caring for the children there. They're responsive to each child's needs (my daughter has allergies), the staff are educated, empathetic, and they truly care about the children. I'm never worried when I leave
my daughter (she attends three x a week) and I write this as a parent who tried several nurseries in the area before settling on Busy Bees. It's the only nursery I know of with not only huge spaces both in and outdoors but importantly (I'm a former teacher), an engaging and academic curriculum which helps to prepare children for school-even teaching French. To have my 3 year return home with a surprise, "Bonjour" recently, was wonderful (especially as my husband is part French). I highly recommend the nursery. Big shout-out to the excellent manager Danni (no problem is too big or small and she's so level-headed and lovely) and the fab staff, especially three members of staff in particular. Thank you!

The nursery were fantastic at helping our children settle in when we moved to Harrogate. They settled very quickly and gave both us and the children confidence that they would be well looked after.
The children are stretched to learn and they have been supported in developing their independence such
as by being the 'helper' pouring drinks for their peers at mealtimes or by helping their carers check the garden.
Our son has an allergy which has always been taken seriously but has not stopped him from participating in baking and mealtimes. They have a sensible but thorough approach to illness and injuries which as a paediatrician I Value immensely.
There has been a slightly higher turnover of staff than we would wish for which is a problem common to many nurseries. Whilst this isn't ideal it has been managed in a way to minimise distress to the children and parents have been kept informed.

Super nursery, amazing staff and brilliant fun had by my boys every day. Lots of emphasis on play but so much learning done too, love the artist focus and book of the moment that we can read about at home!

My child has been attending since the start of the school year. I have noticed incredible progression with his development since he started with the nursery. He loves his class lead, sometimes i feel more than me, as he always rushes off as soon as she arrives at the door. He is always kept as clean,
well as clean as a toddler can be, well fed and happy. We always have an update to how his day has been through the online portal. I cant fault the nursery for anything and would recommend without a shadow of a doubt to any parent looking for the best nursery to send there child.

A fantastic nursery with everything the children could possibly want or need!
My little girl (1 year old) started in February 2024 and has developed and flourished so much. Her key person is outstanding and has ensured my little girl has settled in well and keeps us informed about everything.
The
other staff within her room are extremely friendly and very helpful.
The manager has been extremely helpful with any questions we have had.
We can not thank everyone at the nursery enough for making us feel relaxed and calming our nerves as first-time parents.

My daughter has attended here since 10 months old and will now be going to school in September. She loves going to nursery, she's made great friends and the staff all seem good.
We get good handovers at home time of what she's done/how she's been through the day and staff genuinely care for her.
The
updates in the app are useful to know what's going on, if they have been eating etc. She's always bringing home crafts and drawings she's done and they spend as much time outdoors as possible.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

3 of my children have been to Busy Bees at Hornbeam and we've had a great experience on the whole. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the kids look forward to going to nursery, which is a big thing!
Only negative feedback is related to fees/costs - I know of other nurseries where illness-related
absences mean you don't have to pay or can transfer days of attendance to other days of the week, which is not the case here. Easy to grumble about costs in this economy, but that's no reflection of the quality of the service.

Excellent nursery, the program done for my son's transition to school has been superb and really well thought out! He has had a great last 6 weeks! He comes home full of new knowledge and has always had a great day! The staff have been excellent towards him and very nurturing from baby to preschool
years! We will be sad to leave for his next stage in life at school.

Despite the recent turbulence of staffing and sickness, due to covid (of staff and children alike), my daughter has always emerged with a smile on her face, no more so than since moving to Buzz in January 2022. She's challenged, she's learning, she's building confidence in a safe and fun environment
and the carers do truly care. Thanks for making the hard decision to leave my child to go out to work, that little bit easier.

Our daughter has been attending Busy Bees for four days a week since January 2021 and absolutely loves it - she walks herself in with a big smile on her face! The members of staff are amazing, we feel that they really care about our daughter and her development. We get frequent updates on the app throughout
the day, including photos, and always get a good summary of her day at pick-up time too. She's built really good relationships with the staff in her room and even staff who aren't in her room greet her in the morning, it's such a lovely welcoming environment. The nursery building is purpose-built and has excellent outdoor space, the children spend a good amount of time outside and take part in lots of different activities, which is great. Our daughter has developed so much since being at Busy Bees and really benefits from the social side of nursery life. We would highly recommend this nursery!

I have two children at this nursery that visit on a part time basis (3 full days / per week). The staff are very friendly and approachable. Both my children adore their key workers. The staff greet my children every morning and give me direct feedback at the end of every day. There is also a 'parentzone'
app that provides a more detailed account should I want to find out more. The food is varied and plentiful. A menu is listed on a board at the entrance for all parents to view. The facilities are also great - lots of space both inside and out. My oldest child will leave this nursery in September to start school but the staff have worked hard to prepare him for the move. He has a good understanding of numbers and letters and they have encouraged him to be more independent which should help his transition. In summary, this is a great nursery that I would highly recommend.

Hi, I am Sarah the Centre Director here at Hornbeam Park.


I have been the Centre Director since 2022 having worked for Busy Bees since 2002 working my way up through various positions and gaining my qualifications with Busy Bees. I have two boys of my own who keep me on my toes but bring me a wealth of experience that I can implement within the nursery. They both attended Busy Bees when they were younger.


I love to see the children learn and grow into confident human beings, knowing that my staff team share the same passion and enthusiasm in their learning and development striving to give the children the best start in life.
