Orchard Trees Day Nursery is a Children's Nursery set in the peaceful Yorkshire countryside in a large converted barn with a big open garden. Situated all at ground level with 4 large play rooms and a rear garden with a farm right next door, Orchard Trees Day Nursery is the ideal location for children to grow and learn. The spacious play areas dedicated for each age group create a calming and homely environment in which every child feel safe, secure and eager to explore.

The highly qualified Early Years educators support each child sensitively to ensure that they meet their full potential and develop a keen appetite for learning. By allowing children to follow their own paths of discovery and truly valuing the lost art of PLAY, Orchard trees Day Nursery aims to create a Community of Creative Thinkers.

Orchard Trees is a wonderful childcare provision in the North Yorkshire countryside. Staff are caring and creative putting the children first and listening to their ideas.

Our children are in 'Baby Owls' and 'Wise Owls' and they both love it!
Great staff and lovely facilities. They get lots of snacks and lovely food. They really enjoy going out in the garden too.


The only thing we don't like is the vegan day, the children don't seem to like to the meals either.

My sons have attended Orchard trees for many years, since they were babies, and my younger son continues to attend the SKOOT club after school and during the holidays. They are fabulous with him and very flexible. We have complete confidence that he is safe and has a great time whilst being at Skoot.
The setting is inclusive and very willing to meet individual needs. This is particularly important to us as our son has special educational needs requiring more support than a typically developing child of his age. We could not wish for a more supportive setting.

My son loves going to Orchard Trees Nursery. The staff are very friendly and caring. He enjoys the activities they do especially playing in the well equipped garden. Orchard Trees is flexible for parents and always try to accommodate our requests. I will be sending my second child there next year too.

As an overview, I would say that Orchard Trees is an excellent childcare setting; clean and safe with excellent staff who seem to genuinely care about the children.
We have always found them to be efficient, with a good range of equipment. The children get lots of outdoor time and have a good mix
of story time/creative activities and active/physical playtime.
There's a good mix of staff and personalities and we have found them all to be really friendly, receptive to ideas and keen to get feedback. Clearly passionate about the wellbeing of the children, staff are approachable and attentive. They have established practices and policies but show flexibility and you can provide your own food which is a real advantage for us.

All the staff create a warm and caring atmosphere - it feels like an extension of the family. Children are happy and engaged - good friendships are developing. Activities and the environment are stimulating - it is clear learning is really progressing with the support of Orchard Trees and the team.
There
is opportunity for outdoor play and interaction with animals. The indoor space is used effectively with the different aged children able to integrate, whilst being supported in their own age groups. The only downside is I feel meals are expensive, though there is an option to provide your own.

I have 2 children who attend Orchard Trees and I am extremely happy with the nursery and the care they receive. It’s a really, happy and friendly place. Staff are always kind and attentive and build genuinely loving relationships with the kids. The food is great, the environment is good and the management
are so helpful and flexible wherever possible. Educationally, I think the children are gently encouraged in their development and both my children are thriving.

I have used this nursery for both my children and they have both loved it! My son is now at school and the nursery helped him grow and develop well in preparation for school! My daughter has just started and smiles every day when we pull up in the car park!

Lindsay Oates

Job Title: Director

Joined: 2017

Lindsay joined the original Orchard Trees family all the way back in 2010! She eventually became manager in 2014 and in 2017 had the fantastic opportunity to take over the reins.


Orchard Trees Day Nursery as we know it today is independently owned and managed by Lindsay, with support from her fantastic team.


Lindsay has 14 years experience working as a key worker in nurseries and holds a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. She is currently studying part time for a forensic psychology degree.
