Providing quality care for children aged from 3 months to 5 years old in the lovely residential village of Osbaldwick, in York, Tiddlywinks is a great choice for parents looking for full or part time care for their children in the local area.

Tiddlywinks is set in a purposefully designed environment, ensuring children are provided a plethora of opportunities to enhance their development and enjoy their time at the nursery. There are separate areas to allow the team to deliver age appropriate experiences and the time and attention each child requires.

The team work hard to create a stimulating and nurturing environment where children feel at home, comfortable and safe to explore and play however they wish. Funding & Fees Guide for Tiddlywinks York

  • Our full days start from 7.30am until 6.30pm at a cost of £61.00 and we also offer half day sessions for the mornings: 7.30am - 1.00pm and the afternoon sessions: 1.00pm to 6.30pm at a cost of £36.00. There is also a charge of £3.50 per session for 7.30 am- 8.00am and for 6.00pm – 6.30 pm.

Just such a lovely place. The staff are amazing and the little ones are so well cared for. They do such a hard job with so much skill and love. Particularly love the activities they do and the home-cooked food. If I could go I would!

Tiddlywinks is an excellent nursery. The staff are warm, friendly and always happy to welcome your child in the mornings.
The food is home cooked and delicious and communication from the office is quick, efficient and friendly. We love it here!

Tiddlywinks is such a fantastic nursery, our little girl absolutely loves going every time. They have so much fun and always manage to come up with new and exciting things for the kids to do. I cannot explain how much they have helped our child's development and confidence with other people. All the

My children have been attending Tiddlywinks York since 2018 and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The care both of my children have received is outstanding. At the heart of the nursery are the amazing staff who know all the children so well and take their lead when designing fun, stimulating activities.
Many of the staff have been there since our first child attended and feel like an extension of our family. The daily activities are fun and varied and the children regularly play in the well-equipped outdoor space. The menu is delicious, healthy and varied and the online diary keeps us well informed about what our child has eaten, their sleep routine and what activities they have enjoyed each day. My children have both been so happy and well cared for at Tiddlywinks, it is a truly special place and I can’t imagine sending my youngest anywhere else.

Tiddlywinks isn't just a nursery and preschool, it's an extension of our family unit. The staff are amazing. Everyone knows our son, cares about him and understands his ever-evolving personality. The support we've received since he started there 3 and a half years ago has been astounding. Every time
we have a query or need advice they're right there supporting us every step of the way. Raising a child in the last few years, especially for first-time parents, has been pretty scary and Tiddlywinks has been with us through it all. The food is great, the curriculum is enriching and engaging, but most importantly the staff are 100% about the wellbeing of every child. It's a magical place to be.

Very friendly nursery. Our daughter has been attending for six months now and she really enjoys it. It feels like the staff genuinely care about the kids in their care and they are very good at communicating with the parents.

Tiddlywinks York is an exceptional nursery and preschool. The staff are patient, kind and very innovative. They are always coming up with interesting ways to help the children learn and grow through play.

Two of my children have now been to Tiddlywinks York and we love it. We love the staff most of all. They are so kind, caring, fun and nurturing. We love the outdoor space and how the building is set up based on the children's ages. There is a lot of enthusiasm and attention to detail. They know the
children so well which is evident. The activities are amazing and always look fun and varied. The food is fab and offers so much variety. We trust them wholeheartedly which for me is the most important thing. They are a big part of our lives now as we see them almost daily. What a fab nursery experience you’ve given to all of us.

Our son only began attending nursery after he turned two. He has remained at home with my husband who is a stay-at-home father since I returned to work when he was eight months old. We were really nervous about him starting nursery, but we needn't have been. The love and care that has been shown to
him by all the staff have been second to none. He says 'I had fun at Tiddlywinks today' when we collect him. The food is also delicious and made on-site - we've been very impressed with the variety! We could not be happier with Tiddlywinks and hope their current bid to expand is successful.

The staff are very approachable and helpful at all times. Going the extra mile to make sure my daughter not only spends her time there but learns new things. They care about her well-being. From manager to supervisor or any staff member they are very understanding. The facilities are very nice and always

Great nursery. My son has been going for 4-years and absolutely loves it. The staff are fantastic and really care about the kids. The food is really high quality and the nursery does a lot to educate the children. The nursery is expensive but it's very likely all the others in York are as well.

Our first child like many had to start nursery during lock down and the nursery was great at accommodating our needs at a difficult time. Naturally our 12month old was concerned about this big change, but his key worker and the room manager won him over very quickly and would often show affection for
them (a big deal when nursery was the only time to meet anyone new). As our child changed rooms to the active adventurers he would often show off what he had learned and talk about who and what he had played with. The online system keeps us in the loop without oversharing and pestering while you are trying to work. Lovely staff who genuinely care, and the safeguarding is perfect to alleviate any worrying.

My son has been attending the imaginative investigators unit since September 2020, and he has come on in leaps and bounds, and this is all down to the amazing staff at tiddlywinks, especially his key worker who he just adores. He isn't the loudest of children and likes to take it all in rather than
throw himself in head first, but the confidence he has gained since attending is just amazing, and to see him so happy and excited to attend nursery makes my heart sing! He has also gained a lot of confidence in trying new foods since starting at tiddlywinks, and I love hearing about the different foods he's tried when he comes home. The only negative is that he has to leave in a few months to go to school!! The staff will be greatly missed, but I'm so glad my son's first step into education has been such a positive one, and I'd highly recommend to any parent to put their child into tiddlywinks :)

Tiddlywinks for me is definitely the best nursery in York. I have two older children - 16 and 14 (who have been to other nurseries) and are not a patch on Tiddlywinks. My little boy who attends, absolutely loves it. He has such a great connection with all members of staff who always seem happy, energetic
and put parents at ease when taking our children. I do not even get a goodbye from him. The staff have so many amazing activities and adventures throughout the day for the children. I’ve not tasted the food there but my son eats a variety of food that he would not eat at home. My son has possible Autism/PDA and the staff have gone above and beyond to help him regulate, even creating a safe space just for him to calm down. My son will be leaving this year to start primary school and he is going to really miss all the staff, as will I.
