Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery offers a flexible service to parents with day care, a breakfast, an after-school and holiday club. It also offers two hour sessions and a playgroup.

The nursery's stimulating environment and its wide range of activities ensures that children are motivated and eager to join in.

High standards of care and hygiene practice support the personal care needs of the children. The staff are skilled and sensitive in helping children of all ages form secure emotional attachments giving children confidence in their own abilities.

All children have a key person which ensures that they are all emotionally well prepared for the next stages in their learning.
Staff support children’s transitions both within the setting and prepare them for when they move to school.

I have four children that have attended the nursery spanning over the last 19 years. I have a 19-year-old, 8-year-old, 5-year-old and 2-year-old. From being 9 months old the children went and my 2-year-old still goes now. My husband and I work full time so we are so delighted that we can leave our 2-year-old
and not worry at all as we know he is in the best care. The staff go above and beyond always. The ethos in the nursery is incredible. The food is healthy and nutritious. The nursery has always been there for us even for special education needs for my 5-year-old who had hearing issues and they arranged for speech and language support. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. They always keep me informed on my little one’s day and they have become like an extended family over the years! The manager and her team deserve MBE’s for the amazing work they do, even supporting the local community. How wonderful this nursery is!

My child has settled in extremely well and really looks forward to going each day. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is a problem to them. The staff keep me very well informed on how my child's day has gone. Even during Covid with restrictions, it makes you feel part of your child's nursery
experience.

Lovely nursery with fab staff. They look after my child like he was their own. Brilliant pick up and drop off service for Nunthorpe primary too. We will be sad to leave as my child gets older. The children spend a lot of time outside.

The staff at Nunthorpe are amazing! My little girl loves it there!
Staff always update me when I pick her up to confirm how she’s been.
They help me with advice on numerous things and I always find that I can phone and ask on how my little girl is doing or help with my little girls next stages!

How do I even start to explain how much this nursery means to our family and how I'll never come close to repaying them for the love, kindness, support and respect they have shown us. In short, over the last three and a half years every person at the nursery has become our good friends and like family.
Our family has gone through some hard times with my middle child being diagnosed with Down syndrome and various medical issues. The nursery embraced our family and they have gone beyond the call of duty; they still do. With all my children they have taught and moulded them, allowing them to flourish and find their own unique special personalities; not letting my special needs baby's disability hinder him from enjoying life. They make sure they're always up to date with any new teaching techniques while finding new and unique ways to teach our kiddos; always taking our children's safety into their highest regards. You will not find a better nor safer learning environment than with the ladies at Nunthorpe. We love them.

My little boy loves this nursery, and he can't wait to start going a few more days a week. All the staff are so lovely and have been amazing for looking after my son through the pandemic whilst I'm at work. He has come on so well and loves telling me about his day.

Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery has been amazing. Since introducing our son only recently this year to the nursery, we were nervous about how he would adapt and feel with this new routine and the different faces he would meet. They have been brilliant at introducing their ways gradually so he has been
able to build confidence and independence knowing he’s in a fun and safe place. The staff are lovely, friendly and have always let us know how each day has gone, so we know what he’s been up to. They keep us updated with amazing photos and videos of things he gets up to during the week, which is so lovely to see. We can’t wait to see how he develops and grows at this nursery, and we couldn’t recommend Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery enough!

Brilliant nursery. Both my children have loved going here. My daughter still does, she is always happy to go in and comes out beaming and tired out which is a great sign. They always get them outside to climb and play and even take them for little trips to the wooded area and dance studio nearby.

My daughter has attended Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery for a number of years now and has absolutely loved it from day one. The whole team are fantastic and help and encourage her to learn new things whilst encouraging her to be independent. She has made many friends at the nursery and they all help
each other to achieve, whether in learning or playing together. A fantastic nursery with fantastic staff.

Our little one loves attending nursery and I always look forward to him telling us about his day and the fun he has had. The staff are all lovely and easy to talk to and very helpful with any concerns. Our little one has come on leaps and bounds from attending nursery and developed his social, cognitive

My three year old loves his nursery. The staff are great, kind, caring and encouraging. Lots of amazing activities that engage my son. Lots of loose parts and play with natural materials. Lots of outdoor time in the playground. The staff have been great with his eating issues and he has come along great

Fabulous nursery! My son has been going here for several years now and he loves it. The staff are friendly and kind and my son has made lots of friends whilst he's been here. They provide different daily activities and often go on outings in the local area. The staff have been particularly supportive
during the pandemic, providing childcare that works around the family. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone who is considering it. Can’t fault it at all.

Wonderful nursery. All three of my children have attended with my youngest still being in attendance and they have all loved it and thrived in the environment. The staff are lovely and I always feel assured that while I’m working my children are safe, happy and learning so much.

I am delighted that our granddaughter has a place at Nunthorpe nursery. She is thriving on the care she is receiving there. The staff are all friendly, approachable and professional.
The team give you frequent updates about your child and communication is great.

I have used this nursery for my 3 children over the last 6 years and always thought it was amazing with friendly staff and I always feel welcome and my child is safe and happy. All 3 of my children have loved their time here and the staff.

My daughter began attending Nunthorpe nursery only a few months ago and I am so happy and relieved that we picked this nursery. With everything that has gone on in 2020, she has only ever spent time with me and her daddy and this worried me immensely about how she would cope with new adults and children.
Nunthorpe nursery has done nothing but put my mind at ease from day one of my daughter attending. They have sent me updates in the early days, within the first few minutes, letting me know how she has settled and all throughout the day. They have been so friendly, happy, smiley and welcoming with her from the minute they open the door. It's lovely to see my daughter, in such a short period of time, happy going into nursery and happy coming home. Absolutely over the moon. Couldn't recommend it enough.

My child loves going to this nursery.
Staff are welcoming at drop off/pick up. Always available to chat and go through any queries. The effort they put in to keep me informed on activities, menu, progress, updates goes a long way in reassuring about the excellent care provided and it's all done with
a smile.
They've all been superstars throughout these difficult and uncertain times and I'm in no doubt about the safety and care taken to ensure everyone stays safe.
My child loves the outings they go on and talks about it with enthusiasm and joy at home. Weekend challenges are much fun and great for parents to get involved with.
You can see the staff care for the children and each victory is celebrated. They're perceptive and sensitive to your child's temperament and needs. I'm in no doubt that my little one is receiving the social interaction and foundation skills for a smooth transition to big school.
Indoor and outdoor facilities are great and provide varied opportunities for fun and learning.

This is a lovely nursery with friendly and attentive staff who I know will care for and meet the needs of my child. My child informs me, with lots of stories of how he has enjoyed his days at ‘school’ and he has grown in confidence thanks to the support of the brilliant staff at Nunthorpe Children's
Day Nursery. I’m regularly updated through Tapestry which is nice, especially during a pandemic where a lot has changed. I can see from the photos on Tapestry that the nursery is a clean, spacious learning environment where there are lots of engaging activities for my child to immerse himself and interact with other children which helps with his communication skills.

All the staff at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery are very caring and lovely. My daughter has been coming for the past 2 years and she absolutely loves it. She struggled at the beginning leaving us in the mornings however the staff were amazing with settling her which was a huge peace of mind for us
all. There’s always lots of different activities to do and she loves telling us all about her day.
There’s weekly emails with updates and ideas for activities we can do on the weekends and I’m always kept up to date with my daughter's progress and learning.

The staff are wonderful and very friendly. My son is nervous to go in sometimes and they deal with it very well and make him feel safe. They are very accommodating and informative. I love the use of the parents' app with individual photos and comments.

Hello, I'm Katie.
I have an NNEB and foundation degree in Early years childhood studies and have worked in childcare for 32 years here at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery. I started out as an Early year's educator, working my way up to deputy manager and now proud to be manager. I take great pride in my nursery and love to welcome new and returning families. We have a fantastic fun and safe environment. I have lots of experience with Sen and higher needs children and enjoy working with families to provide the best possible care and education for them. I believe having a strong team helps children achieve their individual learning goals by working together and working alongside parents and families collectively.
I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
