Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

Couldn't recommend the nursery enough. All of the staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. My girls love going and have come on leaps and bounds since they started last year. So glad we chose this nursery!

My little boy went before my little girl did. Best nursery. They love your children like you do. They cuddle them let them sleep and save their food for them if they are napping at meals times. Everyone is remember and everyone is so nice. Best ever!

My daughter started in September 2024 and LOVES coming to see all the staff and friends. Developmentally she has come on so much, and I'm really happy with the care she receives. My son has been coming to this nursery for a year now and has settled in amazingly and is absolutely thriving. I can tell he is happy and loves his time at nursery; he gets to do all sorts of activities, and they have a great range of resources available. I get regular updates on the nursery app with
photos of what activities he has been up to, what meals he's had and also naps, which is lovely for me to see whilst at work. The staff have been absolutely amazing and are a credit to the nursery. They are all genuinely so caring for the children, and my son is clearly very comfortable being in their care. It is extremely reassuring to know he is being well cared for, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery.

The staff are always very positive and happy and make the children feel happy to come into the nursery. My daughter struggled with separation anxiety when she first started, and they really looked after her and made her welcome. I know my child is in safe hands when she goes to nursery, always coming
home after a good day and full from all the meals they provide for the children. Thank you, ladies, much appreciate your continued hard work and dedication to our children.

Excellent staff, my child is always excited to get in when we pull up in the car. She has lots of friends there and a very close bond with the staff. Easy to arrange dates at the last minute and always give you an update on my child’s day when I collect her.

My 15-month-old boy has his first full month of staying here and he absolutely loves it.
The girls are so accommodating and made him feel so comfortable.
He learns new things everytime he goes there and can tell he’s very happy when there.

My son loves nursery, he is sometimes a bit wary about me leaving but as soon as the girls engage with him he is off playing, then when it is time for home I can't get him out of the place! We don't have to check in on him as we know he is safe and happy there. Love that he has been doing more baking
and crafts, he comes home covered in glitter most days, would love to see more of the activities he gets up to! The garden space is an added bonus as he loves being outside, roll on summer!

The staff are fantastic and caring. This comes from excellent management staff making sure the nursery runs smoothly. Fantastic nursery! My little boy started when he was 6 months old and settled in amazingly! The staff are so friendly and caring so it made going back to work after maternity leave much easier knowing I was leaving him in good hands. We love getting updated in the day with a photograph it makes our
