Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

The management has always been so flexible with our family needs. Able to swap and add dates when needed to accommodate when we need last-minute changes with no problem at all! My daughter comes home saying new words all the time and picking up new skills, we think the nursery has been brilliant for
her development in both learning/social.
The staff is always friendly and knows my daughter and her preferences well.

My little girl joined Ingleby Barwick Day Nursery when we moved to the area a year ago. I looked at a few nurseries beforehand but this was recommended so we went for a look round. As soon as you walk in it has a lovely welcoming feel to parents and children. My daughter was at ease straight away, this
was surprising as she was a little unsettled at her previous nursery. We had a little play and I left her for 1 hour, she really enjoyed herself. I knew this was going to be the one so I signed her up. Since joining, the nursery has helped my girl with lots of skills. All the staff are really friendly and approachable. I feel comfortable leaving my child here while I'm working, I know she is safe and having fun. As soon as I pick her up she is very chatty and tells me all about her day, that's how I know she is having a great time. I highly rate this nursery and would most definitely recommend it.

My two children currently both attend the nursery. My son, who has been going since he was 12 months old, is now 3 and attends school nursery in the morning and the staff have been so accommodating with wrap-around care for him. He now attends the preschool room & always comes home happy. The staff
have always been so supportive of all his needs e.g. toilet training.
My daughter has been attending nursery for the past 4 months. The staff have been amazing at helping her settle.
Overall, all the staff are so welcoming and friendly, and I have total confidence that my children are well looked after and cared for whilst they are there.

So very happy with all the staff here, very friendly and excellent with the children. Personally, my daughter has blossomed here, she loves to be here! I like that she is given a hot meal for lunch and the snack tea time is perfect for us. Very helpful and accommodating.

My little boy has been attending since he was 3 months old. I’ve never had any concerns since he started at the nursery. The staff are always welcoming and down to earth. My little boy absolutely loves everyone there and it’s lovely to see how proud they are of him too. His development has been amazing
since he started there and is coming on so well. So glad we found this nursery. They are all brilliant!

My little boy has been attending 2 full days since July. The staff are always very welcoming. We looked at a few nurseries before deciding on Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery. We got such a warm feel, and felt this was perfect for our little boy. The staff keep us informed of all updates and events.

My daughter has attended the nursery since February at eight months old - she is now 16 months old and has blossomed at the nursery. She attends every day and absolutely loves it. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are brilliant with her!

My son started with Ingleby Barwick Day Nursery during his peak separation anxiety phase at about ten months. The staff were so kind and patient, with both my son and us!
He has since settled in so well and loves the staff, the environment and the food! So pleased we chose them!

Since starting at this nursery, my little boy has truly flourished. Being a lockdown baby with additional needs, we as parents were extremely anxious when he first started. But we needn’t have worried, the team are fantastic and my little boy loves his days at nursery. I find all of the staff to be
friendly and approachable and I never worry when leaving my little boy in their care. I would highly recommend this nursery!

My 2 year old little boy started in September and has come on leaps and bounds. He couldn’t follow instructions and hardly spoke a word and within a few months I can see massive changes in him. He will now sit at a table with other children. His language has improved and he can now follow basic instructions.
He has learnt a lot of different songs/rhymes and even how to tidy up! I want to say a massive thanks to all the staff for supporting him and his needs. They understand him and his quirky little ways and make sure they go above and beyond so he feels comfortable and doesn’t get distressed. The prices are very reasonable compared to other nurseries, especially considering I didn’t need it for childcare purposes and just wanted him to have the experience. He does 2 playgroup sessions a week which is perfect for him. They are also very flexible with days which is great. We will be very sad come September when it’s time for him to move on to the school nursery.

My child has attended Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery full-time for around 18 months now. Starting at nine months old he has been cared for to the highest of standards. I couldn't ask for a more attentive and caring staff. A manager who knows her children and parents well, my son is always happy
to attend. I love the size of the setting and the staff are all long-term members of staff, giving my child a caring and stable environment whilst I work. Thank you to all at Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery.

I can not recommend this nursery enough! My son has been attending since June 2022 and he absolutely loves it here. The manager and the team are all incredible. I'm amazed at how his speech and language is coming along since attending and the staff are constantly assisting with this and giving regular
updates to any new words or things he has learnt which is lovely! The staff do daily activities with the children, they go for walks and play outside in their beautiful garden. The chef is fantastic too, he gets fresh healthy home cooked meals every day, and is always trying new tastes and textures to help him with his weaning journey! I am so excited to watch him learn and grow at this nursery and can't thank the staff enough for their care.

Both of my sons have attended this nursery from 2017 to date and I couldn’t recommend them enough. They are just fantastic in every aspect - from the resources in the rooms, the food they serve, the cleanliness of the nursery and of course the way the staff are with the children. Very happy to have
found such a lovely nursery and preschool for my boys to attend and I always recommend them to local families who are looking for somewhere to send their children.

My son joined at the start of December '21, and he has gone from strength to strength since. He wasn't great with his speech or socialising with others, but the staff have been welcoming and great with my son. He loves going to the nursery every week to play with his friends. And he can say so many
more words now too. This nursery has been great for my son and our family. I can't wait to send my youngest to them in a few years too.

Great staff, really relate with the bairns. Full of activity, and she always comes home knackered ready for bed. I dont know what else to say really, but if you have any concerns about leaving your child for the first time in the nursery, then dont worry about here.

Gorgeous nursery, full of gorgeous staff.
As a first-time mam, I was nervous to put him in a nursery but as soon as we had a look around and met some of the staff we were put at ease. My son took a shine to a staff member, they made such a lovely bond and I couldn’t be more grateful for her.
Constant
updates from the nursery through the app, pictures and what he’d been up to all day which I’d be able to check all day while I was at work.
My son has come on leaps and bounds while being at this nursery, even got him eating different foods he’d never normally try. Defiantly the best choice for us.

My baby girl is now 4 and has been attending this nursery since she was 1 and was joined by her 2-year-old brother in 2020. Although smaller than some of the larger chains, we preferred this as feel it's more personal. They both absolutely love going to nursery and have so much fun with the staff and
their friends. There are lots of resources to explore and activities/themes organised every week. The girls are like a second family, give great feedback on what the children have been doing during the day and pictures posted on Tapestry. Working through the pandemic I knew my babies were being cared for in a safe, loving and fun environment. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this nursery.

I have a level 3 NVQ in childcare and have worked in childcare for 18 years with Nunthorpe nurseries group and I now manage Ingleby Barwick day nursery.
I take pride in managing my nursery, I have very good organisational skills and use them when managing the nursery, staff, and children.
I love to meet new families, welcoming them into our setting and ensuring they feel comfortable.
My team works very hard to ensure all rooms provide fun, stimulating, and safe environments.
