Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

Both my boys attend the nursery, the nursery keeps me updated with how the boys progress and they both love going. They involve the children in activities and always have the children taking part. Fantastic nursery.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough! The staff are lovely and my son has settled in really well. He loves his key worker and friends he has made in the baby room. They are always doing different activities with the children and events every month, couldn’t be happier with the care that is given.

Wonderful nursery, my children love coming here. The staff are amazing, very attentive and build lovely relationships with the children. My kids are always happy and well-fed after a session - they especially love all the activities on offer and the themed days which are organised.

My daughter started this nursery during the pandemic as I was unhappy with her previous nursery provision. The staff went to great lengths to ensure I was fully happy with this setting to avoid any further disruption for my daughter, which wasn’t easy for them given the regulations around visiting.
My daughter now comes home from her ‘new school’ happy, and excited to return. She tells me about the activities she has done during the day and speaks very fondly of the staff. It feels right and is such a better fit for us. The staff made the transition seamless and I am so grateful.
I am just preparing to send my baby and I am so confident that he will be in good, safe hands.

My son started this nursery at 1 year when I was going back to work. I was very reluctant to use nurseries and as soon as I walked into the nursery I was at ease. The staff were so friendly and caring and you could see how experienced they were by the relaxed atmosphere. There are always amazing resources
for the children to learn from and new little role play stations being set up. The messy trays are great to get the children used to different textures ie sand, and drawing their names with sticks. Outdoor play and local walks have allowed my energetic son exercise. Every day my son attends I feel he will be well looked after and cared for. Posts from Tapestry showing pictures of learning are great. During the last year, I can't thank the staff enough for their commitment and care for my son. It has allowed me to still go to work as a key worker and I feel that the staff are all being as safe as possible to keep the children safe. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough! They have been amazing with our little girl. She has been at the nursery since she was 9 months old and is now 3 years old. Staff are so caring and professional. My daughter absolutely loves going in on a morning. All staff take time to get to know the children
and their individual needs.

The staff at our nursery are as friendly and welcoming as we could wish for, I truly trust them to take care of my child and ensure that he is happy and enjoying himself. My child was apprehensive about coming to nursery when he first started but with their help it didn’t take much time at all for him
to run into nursery with a smile. I always notice that my child uses new words and phrases after a session at nursery and this is lovely to see. It is lovely and a pleasure to see what he has been up to in his day when the staff attach photos and messages onto the tapestry app. I love that he gets to play with other children and take part in lots of fun activities whilst he is safe and happy at nursery. I am very pleased that the girls who take care of my child have got to know him very well and this is reassuring.
Thank you to all the staff especially the girls in Tweenies room who look after him so well and enjoy having him too.

I am so pleased I made the choice to send both my children to Ingleby Barwick Childrens Day Nursery. They are the most caring and dedicated staff I’ve came across and you can tell they absolutely love what they do. My daughter started last year and with it being quite a challenging year due to Covid
they do everything they can to help you out as a parent. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

This is a lovely, welcoming nursery. The staff are friendly and caring towards the children. My son loves attending the setting, he always talks about what he has done at the end of the day. The activities are varied and planned to help the children to develop. The staff take the children’s individual
interests into account when offering activities. The food offered is a big hit with my son! Overall a fab nursery!

My little girl is 4 and has been at the nursery since she was 18 months. The staff have always been great with her! At the start she didn't settle well but they where amazing and put me at ease leaving her as I knew she was in good hands. They have always made adaptations for her and helped her to grow.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Home away from home, that's what this nursery is for my daughter. She has been there since she was a-year-old, and if it was not for the staff at this nursery, she wouldn't have been a very independent child. I know I can peacefully concentrate on my career when I am at work because of the service the
nursery provides. All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and understanding for someone like us, who do not have any family for that extra support, these ladies have definitely given me all the support that I have ever wanted.

My daughter has been coming since she was 12 months old and is now four. She loves coming to nursery and is always wanting to come on her days off. The staff are always happy and welcoming. Her key person is always planning activities on her interests and I have regular updates on the app. She leaves
in the summer to go full-time at school and I know she will miss it.

My son has settled in brilliantly and that is due to the amazing staff at the nursery. They know exactly how to put both my son and me at ease. My son's speech has come on a lot since starting here and his counting is brilliant, there is a real focus on learning.

I have a level 3 NVQ in childcare and have worked in childcare for 18 years with Nunthorpe nurseries group and I now manage Ingleby Barwick day nursery.
I take pride in managing my nursery, I have very good organisational skills and use them when managing the nursery, staff, and children.
I love to meet new families, welcoming them into our setting and ensuring they feel comfortable.
My team works very hard to ensure all rooms provide fun, stimulating, and safe environments.
