Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

Fantastic provider. The staff are warm and friendly and create a lovely environment which is very welcoming for the children. Staff are imaginable and very creative. Children engage in many activities and form positive relationships with each other and with staff.

Lovely staff, love tapestry so we can see photos and write-ups about our child's development.
Stay and play did so much effort for Halloween. I have recommended to a friend whose child now attends this nursery.

The nursery has been wonderful with my daughter. She was very shy when she first started and not keen on me leaving her, but the staff were wonderful at reassuring both her and me and now she loves nursery.
They have been great at adapting meals to cater for her allergies and provide a meal record
so I know exactly what she has eaten each day.
The staff are always friendly and keen to tell me what she has been up to that day.
Overall I am comfortable knowing that I am leaving her in a safe environment and that my daughter enjoys being at the nursery.

This is a fantastic friendly nursery. Having had a previous bad experience with preschool nurseries I was worried but there was no need to be.


The manager and the team are really approachable and most of all genuinely care about the children.


The nursery is well set out and always clean - there

always seems to be something going on and all the children appear happy.


It has brought my little boy on in leaps and bounds and I love the update so via the Tapestry app.


I have already recommended this nursery to friends and family and they are also very happy with the service they receive.


5 stars from me!

Since my granddaughter joined the nursery her progress has been amazing. Loves going to nursery, is always happy, loves the activities especially the messy ones. The nursery is spot on for everything that is important; learning, safety, stimulation, brilliant staff, allowing children to be children
in a safe environment, kids love all sorts of messy activities.
In a nutshell, it's 10/10.

My son has been attending the nursery for around 6 months. My son has come on leaps and bounds since he started the nursery.
My son's speech has dramatically improved since attending the nursery. The staff are all really amazing and bend over backwards to help where they can.
The manager is superb
and has really helped me as a single mother to make the transition go as smoothly as possible for me and to cater for my shifts and nursery days around my job. I feel safe to say I know my child is in safe hands when at nursery and he is happy.

I cannot rate this place enough, my little girl loves going here and has developed so much in her time here. The staff are always warm and friendly and keep you up to date with progress and how her day has been. They were particularly supportive during the big milestones, particularly toilet training.
The online portal used to keep us notified of her progress is fantastic and if you have any concerns or need any advice, the manager is always approachable. We are now looking to keep our daughter here for the 30 hours free childcare and hopefully, our second child will be coming here in the future.

My children have settled really well in this setting and every morning they are greeted in a welcoming fashion by happy and caring nursery staff. All staff seem very attentive to the children in their care and meet their needs.
My children are very happy at this nursery and their time here has helped
them flourish. There is a lot going on at the nursery whether it’s playing indoors or outdoors. Staff are always happy to help with any queries and to answer any questions regarding my children whilst they attend this setting.

A very engaging staff that always have time for both children and parents. My son has been a pupil there for the past 18 months and his development has been excellent. The facilities are very good and the staff are always looking for new ways to engage with the children and develop their skills.

Amazing nursery and staff. My little girl has been attending 2 years now and loves going and I feel so relaxed when she's there knowing she is getting the best care and having a good time.
Regular updates on tapestry are fab and help me chat with my child about her day at nursery.
Over the last 6
months especially the staff have been so accommodating to me with getting a new job which meant changing hours regularly this made such a huge change to our lives so much easier to deal with. My child loves all the staff and everyone is so nice and I wouldn't send her anywhere else. Would highly recommend the nursery.

A fantastic nursery with friendly professional staff who care deeply about the children. I feel completely relaxed in the knowledge that the children will be cared for to the highest standard when they are not with me and I would recommend the nursery to everyone.

Ingleby Barwick Day Nursery is absolutely fab! Everyone is so friendly. My son has been attending since he was 10 months old (and he’s 4 next month) and he loves going.
He has made some lovely friends there and he has an excellent relationship with his key person, who is excellent with him.
I think
he likes her more than he likes me sometimes! I’ll be so sad when he has to leave, but I feel like he has grown into an amazing little character thanks to the girls at Ingleby Barwick Childrens Day Nursery.

I have a level 3 NVQ in childcare and have worked in childcare for 18 years with Nunthorpe nurseries group and I now manage Ingleby Barwick day nursery.
I take pride in managing my nursery, I have very good organisational skills and use them when managing the nursery, staff, and children.
I love to meet new families, welcoming them into our setting and ensuring they feel comfortable.
My team works very hard to ensure all rooms provide fun, stimulating, and safe environments.
