Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016, offers an experienced and highly qualified team of professionals who expertly guide and support children across all areas of learning and development.

The nursery provides a variety of flexible daycare and funded sessions for children up to the age of five years.

At Ingleby Barwick Children’s Day Nursery staff celebrate relationships with parents and carers and work closely together to create a strong learning platform, enabling all children to achieve their full potential.   

The staff are very proud of the relationships that have developed with all parents of children who attend the setting - this was identified as a key strength by Ofsted in their report in November 2016.

Staff provide resources around children's interests and their learning and development needs. There is continuous provision in the baby room for example, they focus on large movement activities to enhance their gross motor skills. They will use the large tuff tray to explore using their senses, such as mark-making with their hands in dry sand.

In the Tweenie room (for 2-3's) they will start at look at making some smaller movements using their shoulders and elbows. Each day the children take part in dough disco, this involves stretching the whole arm and focussing on some smaller hand movements such as pinching and prodding the dough.

In pre- school room, staff focus more on fine motor development in readiness for holding a pencil correctly and starting to form shapes that may represent letters.

The children also benefit from signing tots, little kickers and lingo tots sessions across the month.

Children also enjoy visits from a lady at the library who comes to share storytime with the children and then children go on trips to the library to exchange books.

Such a great nursery, lovely staff team. In August 2015 we viewed Ingleby nursery, on our first visit me and my partner and our daughter where made to feel really welcome, manager and staff answered all questions and more, our little girl who was very shy was playing and appeared to be already settling
in! I was nervous around how she would be due to her being shy, so this was a big relief for me and had helped me pretty much make my mind up that this nursery was for my little girl to come to.
First impressions of the nursery, was lovely and spacious, clean and tidy.
Now my little girl has been there around 4 months and she loves it, she has come on leaps and bounds, comes home signing new nursery rhymes and learning new colours and numbers. When picking my daughter up I really like the handover of how she has been throughout the day, always full of information of how long she has napped, what she ate for lunch and what fun activities she has done that day, and who her friends have been too!
Also love the tapestry to access my daughters observations assessments and pictures and details of activities she has done! Always look forward to seeing them, to see she's having so much fun and learning is amazing.
Can not fault Ingleby Barwick nursery. Would 100% recommend to anybody.

When my son started nursery, he was very upset. The staff are very friendly and caring. They are very reassuring and receptive to any problems. Now he enjoys it a lot. He comes home with a big smile on the face. There are loads of activities to keep engaged and socialise. They take special care of the
activities my son enjoys most. I can view his progress and development of my son regularly through staff updates and tapestry. I definitely recommend it

I would highly recommend this nursery! My oldest daughter attended here from age 2-3 and my youngest has been here for 15 months. All the staff are ALWAYS welcoming with a big smile!! This nursery has brought my little girl on leaps since she first started in Babies. She loves going to nursery and comes
home singing all her favourite rhymes and is always happy when I pick her up. I feel I can ask advice from the staff if ever needed, my daughter loves the staff and the new teacher too, always talking about them and asking if they can come to our house! Best nursery I could have put both mine in, cannot fault this place?? X

When my son started nursery he was a very shy little boy who wouldn't interact with anybody, often being very clingy. With him starting nursery next year we decided to get him into preschool to aid his play and speech and also to give him a wider scope of learning. Since he has been at nursery he has
totally changed. He always has a smile on his face, loves going to this nursery and playing, his speech is 100% improved, his play ethic has also improved 100%. This is all down to the staff at nursery who are very caring, very helpful, friendly and have taught him a lot. This nursery is unbelievable, I cannot thank them enough for my son's progress.

My eldest son attended this nursery for almost 3 years, so when it came to choosing a nursery for my youngest son I did not hesitate in sending him to Ingleby Barwick children's day nursery. He has been attending for the last two years and like my eldest son, thoroughly enjoys going to nursery. It
was so lovely to know that the people who had looked after my eldest son, were now going to take care of my youngest. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and are very well experienced in childcare and are also happy to give advice on any concerns you may have. They always have a lovely welcome for my little boy and know that he likes his cuddles when he first arrives to help him settle. I can be confident that when I leave him that, not only will he be well looked after, but that he will also have had a variety of stimulating activities to take part in, along with socialising with other little ones his own age. My little boy has positively thrived from attending nursery and this is apparent in his speech, his social skills and his fine motor skills development. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to other parents.

My children attend breakfast club and holiday club at the nursery and are always happy to go. The staff make them feel welcome and involve them in everything that is happening. My son has attended since he was a baby and has built strong bonds with the staff especially his key worker. Both of my children
enjoy being taken to school by the staff and always manages to make them laugh.

My children attend the nursery on an as and when needed basis and are always made to feel welcome by all the staff. They particularly enjoy attending breakfast club and being taken to school by the staff. When they attend in the school holidays they are always included in all the activities that are

I put my child in this nursery for 3 years and I was so happy to leave him with the fully qualified friendly staff!
The place always clean and tidy and friendly faces of staff and other parents, was always reassuring when leaving my baby boy!
One member of staff in particular was amazing with him!
She was his key worker and his friend when he wouldn't settle! He took to her so well and he talked highly of the fun activities they had each day together!
I would recommend this nursery to anyone who had a small child ! Thank you for giving me the peace of mind that when I went off to work my child was in super safe hands xx

My youngest daughter has been settling at nursery this week and I have been thrilled with how it has gone. After not settling at all at another nursery I was anxious about how successful our second attempt would be. The staff were fantastic and extremely reassuring and gently guided and supported
my daughter as she explored which helped to start building her relationship with her key person. The activities and resources that are available are really engaging I don't think my daughter actually had time to miss me too much!! I love the online learning journey called tapestry, I can log in to add things about what my child has been doing with her family along with photographs and short video. I also get a notification when her key person logs something new that she has achieved.... It's fab!! All in all I'm extremely pleased with Ingleby Barwick Children's Day Nursery and wouldn't hesitate in recommending to friends and family.

My son started at the nursery a few weeks ago and he was getting a little upset when I would leave him, but the staff made it easier for me leave by distracting my son and playing with him, I was always assured he was ok throughout the day.
The nursery is very flexible and this really helps with me
and dad both working different jobs at different times.
As a parent you are always very wary of leaving your children with someone you don't really know, but the staff here are lovely and made this a lot easier.

My son is currently in the under two's room and the staff there have made him feel very welcomed since his first day. I can leave him in there care knowing he is well cared for, safe and stimulated. The staff that care for the older children are always great with us and warmly take the time to chat
too.
The nursery has been very flexible with the days and sessions he attends and this has been very helpful.
I would recommend this nursery to everyone.

Fab nursery and my son is very happy in pre school room. His extremely settled and has loads of friends. The Nursery Nurse is amazing and room leader to pre school and my son has an amazing bond with her. She's always so comfortable to talk to and open up to about my son and will undertake doing work
with him when it's holidays too. The Deputy Manager is amazing and is so comfortable to talk to about queries or anything and will inform me straight of of anything I need to know. Two fab ladies! Keep up good job

I have a level 3 NVQ in childcare and have worked in childcare for 18 years with Nunthorpe nurseries group and I now manage Ingleby Barwick day nursery.
I take pride in managing my nursery, I have very good organisational skills and use them when managing the nursery, staff, and children.
I love to meet new families, welcoming them into our setting and ensuring they feel comfortable.
My team works very hard to ensure all rooms provide fun, stimulating, and safe environments.
