This parent visited the nursery twice. Once for one of the free taster sessions (initial look-around) and later on for an extra day when he picked up late at 6.05pm. We never actually charged them for that extra day. Our communication efforts go beyond the "call of duty" and include - a public website - a secure website with detailed information after log in (never used by this parent) - settling-in information on the website for parents of new children - parents' handbook for each room - introductory email - free taster sessions including gathering information from parents - parents fill in an "all about me" information sheet. On a daily basis - personal morning handover - end of the day handover - daily diary published on the app - office contact always available - key person's system. There is a one month settling-in meeting - daily use of online app to parents phone (this parent never logged in) - we have a secret social media page that only our parents can access - there's a monthly newsletter - parents meetings - two year report and meetings with parents - transition meeting with parents and transition reports. We have a zero tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour towards our staff. It is true that in this instance we were unsuccessful in trying to communicate this. Nevertheless, we will post his review internally for all our parents to make their own judgement.
