Kids 1st Wansbeck is a purpose-built nursery providing care and education for children aged three months to five-years-old.

Located within the grounds of Wansbeck General Hospital in Ashington, the nursery is built to the highest standards and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Staff are fully qualified and the on-site chef provides healthy, nutritious meals using fresh produce.

My little girl loves coming to Kids 1st every day. The staff are all lovely. They provide the best possible care and learning environment whilst I go to work. I can do this knowing she is safe and happy. 5* childcare. Well done Kids 1st.

Amazing nursery! We looked around and this nursery was the best by far. All the staff are fab, friendly and supportive.
I feel very confident leaving my two boys here.
All the staff work so hard and it is well appreciated. The staff play a huge part in our two children's development. I truly believe
that they help them to become the absolute best!

I feel very comfortable leaving my child at this nursery after having doubts of staff and levels of care and cleanliness at a previous nursery.
The staff here are very friendly, caring and approachable. Communication between staff and parents is excellent. Any issues or concerns are always addressed
in a timely fashion.

Good staff takes time to share experiences and informative. Very attentive and professional. Handovers are thorough and everything fully talked through. Every question can be answered and lots of care and attention taken.
Our child loves coming to nursery and has already made friends. Highly recommended.

My son really enjoys nursery. It's an unsettling time leaving your baby to return to work, however, Kids 1st have made the transition so much easier for me and my family. The staff go above and beyond and even though he is only in nursery two days a week, he has built up amazing relationships with the
staff and children. Thank you for all you do for him.

The nursery is amazing. All staff so helpful and engaging. Our daughter has come on so much since starting and it's massively because of the nursery. They encourage her and we feel they have a genuine care for our daughter.

Kids 1st is an amazing nursery. My son loves coming and has done since he was 6 months old (he is now 4). Excellent activities and learning provided for the children. Great choice of food provided.
Lovely friendly staff who couldn't do more to make him feel welcome.

We have always been impressed by the variety and quality of the activities. Our child has benefited greatly from the interaction that they have with both their carers and other children at the nursery. Staff are lovely and very attentive with my son, his key worker genuinely has a bond with him however they seem to change staff around a lot. It would probably help him settle if they kept the same staff with the same children as much as possible.
Communication is very good and they are very positive
in their approach with the kids. If your child is upset they will encourage you to make contact with them once you have left to reassure you they have settled.
I have never seen a child crying by himself, there always seems to be someone offering them comfort- unlike some other nurseries.

My child has been with Kids 1st Wansbeck since he was 11 months old. The carers have always gone above and beyond to reassure any concerns or fears that I have ever had.
I love to see all of the pictures Kids 1st send me via the app and hearing about what he has done in his day. He enjoys his time
at Kids 1st and the carers work alongside me for each new development stage and offer me advice on how I can help him to progress.

My son has attended Kids 1st since Feb/March 2017. I find the staff very approachable and deliver a high standard of care and interaction with the children within their care. As a working parent, leaving your child can be daunting however the staff at Kids 1st have made the process less stressful.


The

induction period was very informative and the staff really get to know the children. Regular updates are provided and my son's progress, behaviour and physical/progression skills are monitored, encouraged and documented. The ratio of staff to children is encouraging and the activities the children do are educational and fun. I strongly recommend this nursery.

My daughter thoroughly enjoys coming to nursery and has settled in really well. Nursery life is helping her thrive and is bringing her social skills on leaps and bounds. The nursery staff are great at ensuring that both myself and my daughter feel at ease on a nursery day and give a thorough feed back
to me at the end of the day. Management are very approachable and always try to accommodate when we need to book our daughter in for additional sessions.

My boy has been going to this nursery and I cannot fault them in any way. He has been going since he was 7 months and the staff had been lovely all the way through. My boy is now going to his last term before going to the reception. The staff in Dolphin 2 are absolutely great, doing all the things to
prepare him for when he goes to the big school. They are very supportive and easy to deal with, willing to help parents like me in any way they can.

Our little girl has been going to Kids 1st Wansbeck since she was 11 months old. She's now almost 4. Every class she has gone to from babies to Dolphins, the staff have been wonderful and welcoming. They have a fantastic relationship with our little girl and also us as parents. It's never a problem
to call the nursery to see how the little one's day is going.
The resources they have are brilliant and they have a varied set of activities for the children to engage with.
At preschool stage the children learn French taught by an external company who come in - this is by far the most brilliant experience you can give your three year old! I'm over the moon they have the chance to learn a language at this age!
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in more tears than my little girl when we have to finally say goodbye to this nursery in August. They have been an extension of our family for 10 hours a day, four days a week for the last 3 years!
