Choosing a nursery was daunting. I had visited a few nurseries before I decided to choose Kids Planet. The deciding factors were the staff, facilities and location and I would say the price is fair too. When my son sees his key worker, his face lights up, they clearly have a great relationship. All
the staff are lovely. The nursery has an app with restricted access where I can access pictures of my son playing throughout the day while I am at work. They document on the app when he naps, nappy changes, meals (compliments to the chef), and achievements. They are also very good at spotting when he is unwell. I had to write a review today because last night my son was in such a good mood after being at nursery all day, he clearly had a great day at nursery. It took a few months for him to settle in. He literally went to bed giggling. It's a credit to the nursery. He was excited to go to the nursery and was very happy when my husband picked him up. I am so pleased we chose Kids Planet.

I would highly recommend Southfield Nursery. Since my 2-year-old started in January he has come on leaps and bounds and the staff are lovely!
My son has delayed speech but every time he comes home from nursery we are getting more and more from him, and he loves it there.
A special thank you to the
manager and her staff who have been there from day 1 and have really helped us settle in. I feel really comfortable leaving my son there (which is a rarity for me) and they are always available on email and over the phone if you need anything.
Huge shout out to the cook as well, she's so great and the kids get fed so well!
I'm so pleased we found Southfield.

All staff are really welcoming and comforting and myself and my partner would 100% recommend the nursery to anyone who needs childcare. We have witnessed a vast improvement in our son's ability from starting nursery and this is very pleasing to see, as parents. He also loves his dinner from the chef
too.

My son goes to this nursery and has such a good day. Only been there a month and would trust the girls with his life. He’s come on so much and learnt so much, even being so young. Would recommend the nursery to anyone who asks for a good nursery.

Grandson loves attending nursery. Great range of activities including outdoor play. Staff are caring and take great interest in children. Grandson really enjoys the food served and makes a beeline to his high chair as soon as he arrives. I have high confidence in him being well looked after when in
nursery. Also appreciate the regular notifications and photographs supplied via the app. Good job everyone.

Fantastic nursery with friendly staff who are great with my two little boys. They have been fantastic, with potty training them and doing a range of different activities daily. They do a lot of outside play too, which is great.

Amazing staff who helped my daughter through her most difficult time, the time and effort from all the girls has been greatly appreciated. My daughter was well looked after, she progressed beyond what was expected and they caring and calm environment helped with her anxiety.

Both of our children (daughter 3 years old and son 17 months old) have attended Southfield from 10 months old. We chose this nursery as it instantly felt safe and like a home from home. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our children love attending, love all of the daily activities and have
a bond with all of the lovely staff there. Our daughter has additional needs - thanks to the nursery this was picked up quickly and referrals were made for early intervention. We will forever be grateful for this as our daughter has all the extra help/support in place that she needs.

All the staff are really caring and kind. My child has really come on attending nursery and has been provided with care/learning which is suited to him. The meals he is given are good home cooked meals which has made him a less fussy eater.

My son has been attending the nursery since late April. He started the nursery at just under 7 months old, and he has had an amazing experience so far (as have we). The staff in the baby room have been nothing but helpful and have created such a wonderful bond with him. It was such a daunting experience
leaving him with someone new, especially at such a young age, but the staff and the whole nursery team have been nothing but fantastic. Myself and my wife always get thorough handovers about his day, and he always comes out with a huge smile on his face. The food provided sounds amazing, and my son always clears his plate. The outdoor area is like no other nursery we had visited. Would highly recommend Southfield to anyone looking for a homely nursery setting.

My little boy has been going to Southfield for almost a year now; he started when he was 8.5-months-old and has genuinely loved every day he has spent there. He has so much fun doing the brilliant activities they organise every day, and we can see how much this has helped his confidence, development
and speech. The staff are fantastic, incredibly friendly and caring, and I feel very safe leaving my child with them every day. We have lots of communication with the nursery and are kept up to date with everything our little boy has done that day, including nappies, meals, activities, bottles etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Southfield to any other parent.

I can’t speak highly enough of this nursery and all of the staff. I have seen my son completely transform, develop and progress since attending. The time he spends at the nursery is both educational and fun, with a variety of activities and games. They also recognise and celebrate special traditions,
such as Christmas parties, Easter egg decorating competitions, Chinese New Year, and world book day, which all make special memories for children. There is a fantastic variety of food all freshly cooked. The staff are all very friendly and approachable, whilst remaining professional. I cannot recommend this nursery enough to anyone thinking of sending their child.

I have found Southfield Day Nursery to be an excellent provider of childcare. The nursery nurses are all lovely and friendly and great with my child. When he first started Southfield, he was nervous and shy, but once he realised how much fun he was going to be having when he was there, he was fine!
The staff are so caring and make sure he is ok when he arrives, and it's great to know at the end of each day how he has been. You always get a detailed explanation of everything they've done throughout the day. The app platform is also fantastic - I can see what he has been learning and how much he is enjoying his day. The staff also provide home learning activities through the app, and as a family, we have enjoyed doing these. I and my husband were particularly impressed with my son's use of Makaton. He can't say "thank you" but will automatically use the Makaton sign to say thank you to us when we give him something. This is down to the staff at Southfield!

Fantastic day nursery!
My little one has been here for nearly 6-months now, and he has come on leaps and bounds since starting.
The main reasons I chose this nursery for our child:
Large, playful outdoor space.
Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic range of food available on
the menu.
This is our 2nd child, we had our 1st child in a couple of other nurseries, and Southfield is by far the best experience we have had with a nursery. Our little one is so happy to go in, and we never have any tears; he’s settled in so well and so quickly.
Highly recommend!

Would highly recommend Southfield. My son has been going since he was 7-months-old, he is now 14-months, and it has brought him on so much, especially being in lockdown most of his life. The staff are great and have a great bond with him. He loves playing outside, and they have great.

After moving my son from a poor nursery to this nursery, the differences was phenomenal. The staff really care about the children. My son fitted in almost instantly and generally gets excited to go to nursery. His speech and general playing have come on great since he started here. As a child, who can
be picky with food, he always eats all his meals and tells me about the nursery curry all the time.

Our son is 21-months and absolutely loves going to nursery. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, and my mind is at rest knowing he’s cared for so well. My children have attended this nursery for a couple of years. I picked this nursery not only the early opening time that fits in with my shift pattern, but the homely family feeling that I got when we had our first visit. All the staff seem genuinely invested in the children and their well-being. They
constantly change the learning experiences that are given to the children, so they are never bored. All their meals are home-cooked and have a great variety. My children are very much outdoor children regardless of the weather. The outdoor space this nursery has is great. They promote time outside and take the children on walks away from the nursery, which is always planned to have an educational link. I always feel very informed of my children’s development with the updates on the app linked to the early years foundations. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the nursery has adapted to the ‘new normal’ to ensure staff and children safe whilst maintaining a level of normality.

Our little boy was only at Southfield for four months but he had an absolutely brilliant time, mum and dad can't recommend it highly enough. Southfield was our son's first experience of being away from home and he made amazing progress from the first moment he stepped in the door. He really loved going
to Nursery and on the days he wasn't attending would wake up and ask if it was Nursery today. He made friends and all of the staff he met were amazing with him. We would like to thank everyone at Southfields for the hard work and care taken to keep children, staff and parents safe during Covid. Hope to see you all again soon.

I joined Kids Planet Southfield in January 2024 as a Nursery Manager. I have over 24 years of experience working within the Early Years sector, I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.


Along with my dedicated team, our aim at KP Southfield is to provide a happy and caring environment, giving respectful care to each child. To create a warm, secure setting where a child feels loved and enabled to develop confidence and independence within him/herself.


Outside of nursery, I love nothing more than spending time with my own little girl.
