Acorns Whitchurch is located in a grand Victorian house in the heart of Whitchurch and welcomes children from birth to five-years-old.

The nursery is very much at the heart of the community in Whitchurch. The children enjoy lots of visits from local visitors such as fireman, policeman, dentists and visits to the local care home for singing sessions are always eagerly anticipated by the residents.

The large windows and high ceilings ensure a light and airy space in the playrooms where the children enjoy a variety of activities such as music time, dressing up, sensory equipment and the book corner.

The little ones can enjoy activities such as sand and water play, jelly play, painting and specialist trikes and scooters ensure that even the most active boys and girls get to use up all their excess energy.

Our son is about to graduate from Acorns Whitchurch in July, but has had 2 stints at the nursery. He started in the Babies room, before moving to the Toddlers room. We spent some time in a different city and had to take him out of nursery, which was difficult since the nursery set a high bar. We've
since returned to Cardiff (Feb 2019) and have him back there until he starts Reception.
As a baby and toddler, I can say without hesitation, that we always felt he was looked after and later entertained. Our son was always happy and engaged with the surroundings and his peers. We have to concede that it was the environment at nursery that taught him to walk and explore, as well as giving him confidence. He made some friends, one of which is still present and they still play together.
The staff have always been warm and welcoming to us during drop off and collection.
We'll be hard pushed to sway away from considering Acorns Whitchurch when we feel the need to enrol our daughter.

Whitchurch Acorns is a warm, welcoming nursery with lovely caring staff. Both of my children have attended nursery here (my daughter still attends) they started as babies and went right through to graduation. It is lovely to see how much they learn and enjoy nursery is amazing and makes my day at work
easier knowing they're having fun. They make friends and have very special bonds with the staff who are always smiling and happy. My son still talks about the girls and they ask about him from time to time as well.

Acorns Whitchurch is fantastic. The staff are friendly and caring and the nursery is extremely well run and organised. My son is very happy there and enjoys going. My other two daughters were also very happy at the nursery and have fond memories of their time there.

Both of our children attend Acorns Whitchurch, our son since he was 10 months and daughter since she was 23 months old. The progress we’ve seen is incredible, the nursery has done a lot for their social skills and our daughter has become a lot more confident in her speech. The staff are very friendly
and I feel very comfortable knowing my children are in safe hands whilst we’re in work. They carry out a variety of different activities each day and always have paintings/baked goods/artwork to bring home. We would recommend this nursery to anyone.

Very professional staff and beautiful homely setting for the nursery.
Our child has settled really well since September and usually has something to bring home - photos/art and craft. Quality of food and variety also seems to be of a very high standard.

This nursery is amazing, we have used it since our eldest was 8months, she’s now nearly 4. Her 1year old sister now goes there aswell. The staff are all so caring and lovely. The facilities and food is amazing, the girls probably eat better at nursery then at home. The staff have been so supportive
with our eldest’s illnesses, which has been really appreciated. Can’t speak highly enough about Acorns Whitchurch. I thank them all for all their hard work

I highly recommend this nursery, my daughter has been going to the nursery for a little over 1 year now she started at the age of 1 and I feel tremendously comfortable with the care the staff give my daughter, she is always happy going in to nursery with a smile on her face and comes home with an even
bigger smile. The staff are amazing at their jobs and give me feedback each day I pick her up. My daughter loves messy play and is very proud when she comes home with artwork. What I love about the nursery is that they set home links every week giving me the chance to bring nursery life at home.

Both of my children attended this nursery until preschool from babies. I have been extremely happy with the care that they have received. The facilities are excellent and the staff are always friendly and caring towards the children. My children are happy going to nursery and have always been happy
and content upon collection. I am sad that they have to leave but glad that they have had the best start to childcare in a group setting. Special thanks to the staff.

Our daughter has been at Acorns for the last two years since she was ten months old. We would definitely recommend Acorns, it is more expensive than other nurseries, but it's worth it. The staff are great and our daughter looks forward to going.

We have been very happy with the standard of care provided at Acorns Whitchurch to our child over the last two years. Activity planners are issued so parents are aware of themes for the next 6 weeks and home activities that tie-in are encouraged. A wide and varied menu is provided and all food is home-cooked
on the premises for each meal. Staff are outstanding and show genuine warmth and compassion for the children in their care. Opening times cater for early drop-offs and children are always greeted by name and with a smile at the door. We would highly recommend this nursery to any parent!

A superb nursery. Calm, well-managed and spotless. The staff always have a smile and we are always greeted by name by anyone who answers the door to us on a morning. The atmosphere is happy, fun and relaxed. And amazingly organised and quiet, given the number of busy small people they are minding. My
children are known individuals and time is taken really getting to know them. The facilities are lovely, especially the outdoor space. And Boris the tortoise is a great addition to the team. Acorns Whitchurch, allows me to put my work head on without any hesitation that my daughters are being totally cared for. And my children love it there. My toddler is always brimming with excited chatter about her day when I collect her and refers to Acorns as 'friends' not nursery.

Vicci McTiffin

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2005

Vicci has worked for Acorns since 2005 and has worked as a Nursery Manager at Acorns Aviva and Acorns Duffryn before Acorns ONS. She particularly enjoys seeing the children develop from babies to pre-schoolers and the pride of seeing them head off to school.


Vicci has two children who attended Acorns and Acorns Action Pak.
