Acorns Oakfield Street, located near Cardiff city centre, is in a quiet conservation area off Newport Road.

The nursery's team of warm and friendly staff welcomes children aged 18 months to five-years-old. It is the partner nursery for Baby Acorns round the corner in Partridge Road.   

A qualified, early years teacher visits the nursery several times each week for teaching sessions which are carefully planned to inspire the children’s potential for learning.

Qualified Forest School leaders ensure the children learn about the environment around them while Attribute Sports Development work with the children encouraging movement, wellbeing and healthy bodies.

The nursery provides the ideal stepping stone from nursery to primary school with all equipment and resources of high quality and chosen for their play and learning potential.

My son had the best days of his life at the Oakfield nursery. The staff are friendly and caring. They follow good hygiene practice and the quality of food served to kids is healthy. My little one will surely miss this place as he starts his nursery school soon. Thank you Acorn nursery.

My daughter has attended Acorns since the age of 1 and has been with the Oakfield Street nursery since she was 2.5 years (having moved from Baby Acorns). The care that she has been given throughout her time here is second to none. The staff are professional, patient, and experienced and my daughter
is as comfortable being looked after by them as she is when being looked after by a family member. Attending Acorns has helped my daughter develop in confidence and become equipped with the skills she will need to move on to primary school in September. Being at this lovely nursery has helped my little girl become the sociable, happy and clever little person that she is today - thank you for everything.

Our daughter has been at Acorns Oakfield Street for two years and absolutely loves it. Since the move to Oakfield Street she has excelled with her interpersonal skills, loving the free flow play and activities with her friends. The staff are all very helpful and really care for the children. She is
always happy to go in and play.

Absolutely excellent childcare, first rate staff and facilities. I Would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone. My daughter is extremely happy here and I have every confidence that she is getting the best possible early education and care while I am at work.

Our daughter has been to Acorns since very little, we always see our little one happy when we pick her up. The girls at Acorns are taking such good care of her, we definitely recommend our friends to send children to Acorns, a professional team.

My little boy loves going to nursery at Acorns Oakfield Street. He is very fond of his 'teachers' and has made some lovely friends. He is also a huge fan of the cook! I am always impressed with how much fun stuff they do in the day and he often brings back paintings, crafts, and other delights. I know
he will be more than ready for school in September thanks to the activities and care they have provided over the years.

I would highly recommend Acorns Oakfield Street. My daughter had been away from a nursery setting for a year and a half due to Covid-19 and Acorns has proved to be instrumental in helping her adapt to being away from home and socialising again. The nursery is clean and tidy, with a lovely garden for
the children to play. The nurses and managers are warm and friendly. The communication is great - daily updates at pick-up time, regular photos, and descriptions of activities. The staff are open to discussing issues and are happy to help in any way they can. My daughter loves the nursery and has even asked to change her hours so she can stay for the day rather than just the morning session. She loves the time spent with her friends and has good relationships with the nurses. As a parent, I couldn't ask for much more.

Such a fantastic nursery full of fantastic people who show sincere love and care for all the children who attend. My child is so happy and secure there and has a genuine love for each person at the nursery from the key workers to the chef. We couldn't be happier as parents.

Acorns Oakfield Street is a fantastic nursery, from its management to its excellent development activities for little ones. I want to take this opportunity to thank Acorns Oakfield Street for their high standard of care. My son thoroughly enjoyed his time at this nursery. Every time I picked him up he had something to show me that he made in nursery and he took pride in sticking his artwork on his bedroom wall. It has been
lovely to see how happy he has been talking about his friends in nursery and the different things they have done together. The ladies have always been welcoming and they always showed warmth to my son which I very much appreciate. Thank you very much for creating lovely memories for my son.

The care and education my daughter has received during her time in Acorns has been outstanding. All the staff take great time and care of each child and this is evident in the way my daughter talks about the staff like close family friends at home. They have lovely themed terms with links to home so
that as parents you can get involved with what’s going on in the nursery. They have prepared her well for the next stage “big school”. I would highly recommend Acorns to all my friends and family.

Our son has attended Baby Acorns and now Acorns, Oakfield Street, and since day one, it has been absolutely fantastic. Our son loves going in every day and his progress has been a testament to the simply brilliant and extremely attentive staff and culture they provide to the children. We cannot recommend
Acorns enough (both Baby Acorns on Partridge Road and Acorns, Oakfield Street). Our son attends 5 days a week due to our work commitments and knowing that he is so very well looked after makes us feel so assured! Again, could not recommend enough!

I cannot recommend this nursery enough! Overall the staff are just wonderful, my little boy loves his key workers and has progressed so much since he started with Acorns. The setting is lovely, nice big open rooms with lots of different activities and toys. The outdoor area is great, and as I take pride
in my cleanliness I am so pleased with how well-maintained Acorns nurseries are. You get a good vibe as soon as you step into the place. I would highly recommend it to everyone, my little nephew also attends the Baby Acorns site.

Acorns Oakfield Street was a great transition from Baby Acorns, for us. We found the staff approachable and flexible in their approach to bringing the children across to a bigger nursery. Since then, our boy has flourished and developed a close relationship with his key workers. I can't speak highly
enough about the work they do with the children and the extra help they've provided, when needed. I feel confident my son is looked after here and he never complains about attending.

My son moved here from baby Acorns and has really enjoyed it. He loves his keyworkers and all the staff, and often talks about them at home and the fun things he has done at nursery. The activities the staff organise are really creative and inspiring and he always seems to be learning something new.
The food selection is great and the rooms and the garden are lovely. Thank you for staying open during the lockdowns, it has really helped.

Our little boy loves his days at Acorns Oakfield Street (Roath). He is always full of tales of his adventures in the garden and forest school, what painting and craft projects he's been doing, and all the imaginative play that is encouraged by staff. They cater to his dietary requirements (no dairy)
and make sure he is never left out of meals and treats. He has a strong bond with his key workers. We've seen him grow and develop into a sociable and confident young child thanks to the support of staff. Highly recommend this nursery, which both nurtures and inspires little minds.

Friendly staff, lots of fun activities.
My son also went to Acorns, transitioning from Baby Acorns.

Both of our daughters have attended Acorns Oakfield Street (Roath) (our eldest in 2018 and our youngest currently). The staff are friendly and they do a wide range of activities which are age-appropriate, engaging and fun. Most importantly the girls enjoyed/enjoy attending and have a sense of 'belonging'
there. Both of my daughters have severe nut allergies; staff go the extra mile to ensure their safety.

Acorns Oakfield Street (Roath) have been looking after our 4-year-old son since February 2020. They have been incredible in every respect.
The staff are amazing and so caring. The facilities are fantastic.
Above all, I know that our son is in a very safe environment where he is cared for to the
highest level and where he is incredibly happy.

Starting from when I was first showed around the nursery I had a lovely experience. The staff were welcoming, professional and warm. I really liked what I was shown and the way the nursery works and what it offers for a child. Settling in sessions were easy to arrange and made flexible so it would fit
around my schedule. I'm really pleased with how my son is developing, learning and just enjoying his time in nursery. Staff always provides feedback at the end of the day and I can see what he is doing by using the application where staff can post about daily activities. I would recommend this nursery.
