Darling Buds Nursery is in a great location. It is in the heart of Cardiff Bay, and has access to buses and a train station. It is a short walk to the city centre, and the the A4232 is nearby.

The nursery is large and spacious allowing the team to be flexible and accommodate the parents' needs. Each area has large windows letting in lots of natural light and is furnished to a high standard.

The four age-specific rooms within the nursery cater for children from six weeks to five years of age and a room for the afterschool/holiday club for children 5+

The nursery offers flexible wrap-around day care as well as breakfast and afterschool clubs - ideal for busy working parents.

The team are all highly qualified to deliver a quality standard of care, learning and development which shows as the children are so happy.

Parents are welcome to visit the nursery and meet the team, with new admissions invited to spend some time in a group environment and get to know the staff that take care of the children

    We offer a 10% discount for siblings attending the nursery (excluding holiday club, breakfast club and after school club)

  • All fees include meals, snacks, drinks, formula milk, nappies and wipes.
    We have availability to cater for full and half day sessions, as well as sessions booked on a rota basis and temporary contracts. We offer a breakfast club, afterschool club, holiday club and a full wrap around service to a number of local schools.

My twins have excelled at this nursery. I'm always amazed at how much they're learning and how confident they have become. They really enjoy going to nursery and never look back at the door. The staff are amazing, the place is always buzzing with excitement, but the kids are calm, well behaved and concentrated
on group lead.
I cannot recommend Darling Buds Nursery enough.

Very good nursery and good staff. My 3 year old girl loved going there. Highly recommended and it’s only 5 minutse by car to get to the centre of Cardiff and you can also walk to go to town.

Darling Buds Nursery offers an amazing level of care to my young boys. They are so friendly, welcoming and professional and the staff always have a smile, even at busy peak times. The facilities are great, and every day is filled with activities and fun and great food.
I feel they truly care for my
boys which makes my working life so much easier.
Can’t recommend them enough.

What a fab nursery! Our daughter has been attending Darling Buds since August and is so happy there. She’s currently in Buttercups and looked after by the most lovely staff members. She’s always so happy when she realises we’ve pulled up outside and not once has she ever been upset when we’ve dropped
her off, which made going back to work after maternity leave so much easier! Also, the settling in sessions really helped to ease your mind. The staff members genuinely care about each child and always make the time to talk to you about what your little one has been up to during the day.
Would recommend to any parent who is starting to think about childcare!

I can’t recommend Darling Buds Nursery highly enough. My little boy started in Buttercups when he was 8 months old and I was constantly reassured and updated by his key workers as to how he was settling in with his new friends. The thing that I love the most is how much this nursery focuses (time and
money) on the child. Every time I visit, the children are happy and I always think to myself that’s something you can’t fake!

I have been using Darling Buds since 2013 and cannot recommend highly enough. My daughters have attended every group from Daisies to after school club, the quality of care in each group is second to none.
The staff are all very friendly and the office is highly accommodating.

My son loves going to the nursery. The staff are always very friendly, and he knows everybody by name! Now he is nearly 2 and a half, he has been going there for over a year.
What I like the most is that they keep a diary for them, so every day you can see what they have eaten, how much they have slept,
and what activities they have done.
It is a very dynamic nursery, and multicultural too. They speak to them in English and Welsh and we love that too.
They take them to the park on sunny days too.
Overall we are very happy with it

My son has been attending the nursery since he was 8 months old. The staff have been fantastic with him as he had various food allergies and have accommodated his needs and they are also fully trained to deal with him having an allergic reaction. Since he has attended the nursery to date, he has learnt
so much from the staff and mixing with the other children.


I would highly recommend this nursery to parents who were nervous about leaving their child as they made me feel so comfortable and keep me updated with my son's progress every day. The nursery also provides nutritious home cooked food which my son loves. The nursery is also very secure and will not let anyone in who they do not know.

Darling Buds is a truly fantastic nursery, my children love attending and have come on leaps and bounds, they are confident and chatty little boys. The staff at the nursery genuinely care about my boys as the boys do them. We would recommend the nursery to anyone.

My 14-month-old son has been going to Darling Buds since June and he really loves it. The staff there are so lovely and write feedback in the communication book about what he’s been up to that day. There was a settling in period to ensure he was at ease with being in a new place. He is picked up at
the end of the day having been well fed, clean and generally seems very happy (and tired).

The caretakers are very friendly and courteous. My daughter has been going to the nursery for last 1 year and 4 months and she feels very comfortable there. She is growing to be independent, which is essential for me as I am a working mother. She keeps mentioning new activities they do there every day.
I feel they provide the children with a healthy and proactive environment according to their age groups and their individual capabilities.

We sent our son to Darling Buds at 18 months, initially for two afternoons a week, and kept him there until the age of 3, with most of his last six months being full-time. We cannot thank staff enough for their care and attentiveness. They contributed tremendously to his social development (he is an
only child) and in other aspects of his early years such as potty training, getting rid of the dummy, developing a taste for a wide range of food and in his speech, which really began to flourish. As parents, we felt very secure in leaving our only child with Darling Buds.

Both our children have attended Darling Buds since 9 months old (now 3/12 and 4 1/2). The children love to go there and have a wide range of activities from drawing, painting and crafts, trips out to parks, the bay, museum, circle time with reading and singing and many other fun activities. The nursery
staff are very friendly and the management and admin team very helpful and flexible. We would thoroughly recommend the nursery who have not only cared wonderfully for our children, but also assisted in teaching them letter, numbers, colours, shades etc in both English and Welsh.
