Chuckles is a homely, secure and uniquely situated nursery. Set in an acre of land with half of that dedicated purely to outside play for all ages, it has a country feel yet only two miles from the M4.

The Nursery follows the New Curriculum and believes fully that children should learn through exploration and ensures they have the materials, equipment and surroundings to enable that. Outdoor play is high on the daily agenda and the areas are designed to inspire every age group.

Family run since 1999, attention to detail is important. All rooms are monitored via CCTV cameras (14 in all).

The nursery cook prepares healthy well-balanced cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea time snack in line with Welsh Government Healthy Eating Guidelines.

In December 2023, Chuckles was graded in all six areas following a joint CIW and Estyn Inspection. In June 2024 the Nursery won National Day Nursery Association, Nursery of the Year Wales.

Funding & Fees Guide for Chuckles Nursery

  • Rates are charged at £7.80 per hour.


    You can book the traditional morning/afternoon/full-day sessions or to give you more flexibility you can start between 7am & 10am ending from 3pm to 6 pm as long as they are a minimum of 8 hours.


    Half-day Rates are £39.00 per session and session times are 8 am-1 pm and 1 pm-6 pm.

I can't fault the staff at Chuckles Nursery at all! The duty of care they show the children is incredible, always smiling, always cheerful and nothing is too much. Management and all the staff are accommodating and will always try their best to make a plan for you. My son loves going to nursery and
comes home very happy! I would always recommend this fantastic nursery!

Chuckles Nursery have a fantastic setting for all baby and pre-school ages. They have the most wonderful and loving team, we couldn't praise them more highly for the care given to our little boy. Fantastic communication with parents via an app and regular updates on child progress/dietary updates and
monitoring of toilet breaks. We wouldn't hesitate to send future children here too, we think they are a fantastic nursery - thanks Chuckles.

If we could give Chuckles Nursery more than five-star then we would. From the moment we looked around four years ago, we knew that it was perfect - a home from home for our daughter and now our son too. Both have been so happy there. They have also managed both children's food allergies brilliantly.
We honestly couldn't speak more highly of the staff and the nursery. Thank you to everyone at Chuckles for all your hard work and dedication.

I moved my 3-year-old to Chuckles Nursery after watching a Christmas concert at his other nursery and he was separate from all of the other children and wasn’t engaging. I knew this was not him and knew he wasn’t settled.
I met with the manager from Chuckles and instantly she was so welcoming. The
building is amazing and the facilities excellent. My son loved his time at Chuckles, the time, effort, love and care they showed him were so appreciated.
They managed his time there perfectly. The mixture of play and learning, fun and quiet time. He really bonded with the other children and all of the team members.
They taught him some wonderful life skills and had a perfect balance of firm but fair. The team all genuinely cared and not only will he miss it now he is going to big school I will miss it also.
They constantly reinvest in the nursery and facilities and I am so pleased I found you. Thank you team Chuckles. I cannot thank you enough.

I was lucky enough to be told about Chuckles Nursery a few years ago and from day one I felt relaxed knowing I was leaving my daughter there in a safe and caring environment with excellent staff. She has had the best 3 years with you and comes on so well and you’ve helped prepare her for her next adventures.

My 4-year-old son has just finished at this nursery, after spending 19 months there. Staff have always been very attentive and caring to my son's needs. When he started at the nursery, there was only certain foods he would eat, but the staff were very patient and persevered with trying him new foods,
and within the space of a few months he was eating everything on their menu. Plenty of fruit and vegetables are included in meals and lots of snacks in between. The children could eat as much as they needed to, so good for hungry children! There's a daily menu so you always know what your little ones are eating. We were always able to contact staff with any concerns and they were very approachable and deal with things quickly. Children spend lots of time playing outdoors, as they have a large outdoor area, including a sensory garden and a bike track. We will always hold fond memories of our son's time here and feel so sad he had to leave, to start school. Absolutely outstanding!

Chuckles Nursery is a fantastic nursery and has an amazing setting for the children to play and learn. We love the fact that our child comes out happy anytime they are there and the staff are brilliant, friendly and so polite.

Our daughter absolutely loves attending Chuckles Nursery. We get sent pictures of her daily adventures in nursery and she has made some great friends. She has been at Chuckles since 9-months-old (she is 3 now) and it’s comforting to know that her ‘aunties’ have supported her every step of the way.
She
loves telling us about her days.
Chuckles is constantly changing its activities and areas for the children to play.
Each day at Chuckles really is an adventure for our daughter.

This is my second child I have sent to Chuckles Nursery and I wouldn’t send them anywhere else. The staff are very caring and welcoming and are always on hand to answer questions and communicate how your little one is doing throughout the day. The outdoor space is amazing. I really value the play and
learning opportunities that they provide. My little boy loves attending Chuckles and I am happy and confident with the excellent care they provide.

My daughter loves it here, has been here since she was a baby and has gone through the different groups, the staff are amazing and always have something planned for the children to do that week. I always love seeing the photos from the day to see what she has been busy doing and learning, I really couldn’t

Chuckles Nursery takes the time to get to know you and your child. During the pandemic, they have kept good health and safety standards and have managed to keep the children safe.
The kids get so much outdoor time and plenty of vegetables/fruit in their dinners.

Very friendly staff, if I have a question they will answer it within a day.

The staff at Chuckles Nursery are so caring and nurturing towards my daughter. They are flexible around my working times and when I need extra childcare.
My daughter absolutely loves going in to see them, so much so that on the days she isn’t in she’s asking to go in.
I really cannot rate this nursery
enough, I use them for my daughter now and for my son when he was younger.
They are always looking at improving their venue and have just had all their gardens done and their car parks resurfaced.

We are extremely pleased with our choice of nursery.
We were recommended by a neighbour who had previously sent her children to Chuckles Nursery after we had concerns about our original choice and so glad she did!
We were able to go and look around the nursery on an open day before choosing it and
came away feeling like it was a good fit for our son.
Our son is well looked after by the staff there, does a variety of activities day to day and goes in and comes out happy which is the main factor for us.
The nursery menu is excellent, a good range of food and exposure to some meals he wouldn’t have necessarily tried yet or at a young age.
The app Chuckles uses for daily updates is great and really reassuring being able to see pictures and how he has slept and eaten throughout the day.
The staff really do care, we leave our son knowing he is in good hands and that level of reassurance is exactly why Chuckles is an excellent nursery.

This nursery truly cares for the children and families they welcome through their doors. I chose this nursery very easily as I was allowed to view in person which is key, they have great outdoor space and such caring staff.
They ensured my isolated covid baby became a socialised, happy toddler who
enjoys messy play and the garden. They're super flexible and have supported my child through medical issues with ease.
