Chuckles is a homely, secure and uniquely situated nursery. Set in an acre of land with half of that dedicated purely to outside play for all ages, it has a country feel yet only two miles from the M4.

The Nursery follows the New Curriculum and believes fully that children should learn through exploration and ensures they have the materials, equipment and surroundings to enable that. Outdoor play is high on the daily agenda and the areas are designed to inspire every age group.

Family run since 1999, attention to detail is important. All rooms are monitored via CCTV cameras (14 in all).

The nursery cook prepares healthy well-balanced cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea time snack in line with Welsh Government Healthy Eating Guidelines.

In December 2023, Chuckles was graded in all six areas following a joint CIW and Estyn Inspection. In June 2024 the Nursery won National Day Nursery Association, Nursery of the Year Wales.

Funding & Fees Guide for Chuckles Nursery

  • Rates are charged at £7.80 per hour.


    You can book the traditional morning/afternoon/full-day sessions or to give you more flexibility you can start between 7am & 10am ending from 3pm to 6 pm as long as they are a minimum of 8 hours.


    Half-day Rates are £39.00 per session and session times are 8 am-1 pm and 1 pm-6 pm.

I can't recommend Chuckles Nursery enough, as a nervous 1st-time mum the team at Chuckles completely put me at ease ready for my return to work. My son absolutely loves going to nursery there and tells me daily about the activities and friends that he has played with.
It's fantastic seeing how well
he is coming along and how confident he has become. It's fantastic knowing how happy he is to be there.

My daughters have both attended Chuckles since 9 months old. They have both grown to be kind, thoughtful and intelligent young ladies and myself and my partner both feel this is partly due to the well balanced, well-maintained nursery that is Chuckles.
I would never send them anywhere else.

I cannot praise the girls at Chuckles enough for what they do. Chuckles isn't just a nursery looking after my child, it is an extended family welcoming my child into their loving and caring environment.
No question or request is too much trouble. They do everything they can to make my child feel
welcome and safe and even give that extra support when they are not feeling so well, which is exceptional as they know how hard it is to leave your child at the door when they are calling for mummy. The facilities at Chuckles are wonderful and the learning is exemplary. Welsh and Makaton are also taught which is fantastic! My child is growing and excelling in all aspects of her nursery life and Chuckles are very much to thank for that. Both of my children have attended Chuckles and I recommend to anyone and everyone who is looking for a nursery - look no further! Chuckles is the place for a loving, caring, nurturing, educational environment for your children to thrive and be happy.

A wonderful nursery, both my children have attended. The nursery is very welcoming and the staff are brilliant. I love the environment and all that is available to the children, as parents we want to ensure our children explore the world around them and have the best start in life. This is all made

I was very nervous sending my child to nursery (it's like trusting strangers with my life) They made me and my child feel as ease just from visiting.
My child loves this place and seeing her happy makes me very happy. The staff are very professional and supportive, to not just my child but myself
when I'm worrying over a little cold my daughter may have etc. Any questions I have are answered the same day. If I need to swap a day they accommodate within reason.
My daughter loves the outdoor area as much as the indoor play areas, the food on the menu relieves that stress of "am I giving my child enough nutrients?" And all in all my daughter has learnt so much in the time she has been there.
They really have made going back to work so much easier. They all deserve a trip to the Caribbean really.
The nursery is a 10/10 from me and my daughter!

My little boy has been going since he was 10 months old he is now 4.
I wouldn't even consider placing him anywhere else. The staff are absolutely brilliant and my little boy has come on leaps and bounds, with welsh phrases and Makaton signing.
A fantastic place couldn't ask for more.

The outside space is what sold this nursery to me firstly, very big with lovely country views.
The food menu is very varied, which being a very fussy person myself, this was brilliant for my daughter who get to try everything .
The staff are lovely, friendly and caring.
My daughter love's it at

My daughter attended this nursery for over 4 years. She has gained a lot of confidence and she has learned a lot through experiences at the nursery. I feel the staff are all very friendly and approachable. The nursery has a healthy well-balanced menu and a great outdoor space. I would recommend this
nursery to both friends and families.
