Bright Horizons East Barnet Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years with longer opening times from 7.30am – 6.30pm.

The nursery has plenty of space for children to learn and explore, with four bright and airy age-specific rooms and is close to Monkfrith Primary school and not too far from Oak Hill Park.

The nursery has its own chef on site and with all nutritious meals and delicious, healthy snacks are sourced from trusted suppliers and cooked by the chef with menus changing seasonally. The nursery's kitchen holds a 5*EHO rating for food and hygiene (December 2022).

All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.

East Barnet Bright Horizons has given my daughter a fantastic foundation with her learning and development, stimulating and encouraging her through so many new activities. The key workers play a pivotal role in preparing the children for life after nursery in so many ways. They will support and help
parents with aspects which allows for consistency at both home and the nursery; whether that be toilet training, writing or general activities. The staff really grasp the children’s personalities and identify with them on an individual basis which is important as no two children are the same. My daughter is so happy there and that is all down to the team and management. It is worth flagging they have also continued to follow very strict covid protection procedures which provides endless reassurance for me and my family.

Bright Horizons was the most amazing nursery for my daughter. She was so happy there, and I felt always that she was in safe, capable, nurturing hands. I visited a lot of nurseries when looking for one for my daughter and this was, without doubt, the best one in the area, and I knew it the moment I
walked around the building, it has a very warm feeling and the children are obviously happy there. The management is fantastic, especially one manager who was always so lovely, and helpful, she's really great at her job! The systems in place, parent communication and the day to day running of the nursery made me feel confident about how the nursery would care for my child. All the room leaders were amazing, I felt they really knew my daughter and met her needs all the time. All the staff in each of the rooms were lovely, I felt they really cared for my daughter, who often told me how much she loved each and every one of them. We will really miss it!

We considered Bright Horizons to have been a great choice for our daughter even before the pandemic hit but during this difficult time their communication, commitment to the kids and parents and support has been unfaltering. The staff are friendly and helpful and we have been so grateful for all they
have done. Truth be told, eventually, kids can settle most places where they have fun and can play - but as first-time parents, the support we've had from baby, through toddler to preschool - discussing issues, supporting development - has all been amazing.

My daughter attended Bright Horizons East Barnet for two years until this September when she started school. We were very pleased with the nursery and all the staff. It was very professionally run and the staff were all lovely. My daughter loved it there and still asks to go back.

I have a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old coming to the nursery and I couldn’t be happier with the care and attention they give to my children. They skip in there every morning, are greeted with open arms and are made to feel special and important. I was a bit nervous switching from the homely environment
of a childminder to a nursery but my fears have completely gone. The key workers really know their children and are tuned in to their needs, and give me peace of mind while I’m at work. Thank you to the team!

I am extremely happy with the care my son has received here. The staff are all excellent and show genuine care for the children. The learning resources are great and varied ensuring my son’s development has flourished and I am sure that this will help to make the transition to primary school much easier
when the time comes. To add to that the staff here have worked really hard to ensure that the nursery has been a safe and secure place for the children during the Covid-19 pandemic. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to others!

We were very nervous integrating our child into nursery especially as the events of this year have limited social contact substantially. We could not be more delighted with how our daughter has settled into East Barnet. She dances into nursery and skips out, she is always excited to attend and talks
lots about her key workers and friends at home. The staff have been incredibly supportive, throughout her settling period and beyond.

Our family are so happy with Bright Horizons East Barnet. Our daughter (now almost 2) has been attending since she was 11 months. From not wanting to attend at first to not wanting to come home, needless to say, she loves it there! The facilities are awesome and the staff are awesome, constantly communicating

Our daughter attended East Barnet before we moved house this year. She started in the babies group before moving up through the toddler groups. Selecting this nursery was one of the best decisions we ever made. From the settling in period right through to the food menu decisions, they were brilliant.
Our daughter absolutely loved it here and we never had a single tear when dropping her off each day. All the staff were amazing and quickly became friends. They also did wonders to accommodate our daughter’s allergies which was very reassuring and made it so much easier for us knowing she was in extremely safe hands.
We wish we could have taken the nursery with us when we moved! Our daughter still talks about the staff here and we still receive emails asking us how she is getting in.
We really couldn’t recommend the nursery more.

My son has now finished attending Bright Horizons East Barnet, after attending there for 3 and a half years. He absolutely loved his time there, established great relationships with other children as well as the staff in each room he was in. My son has developed very well through the learning and support
received from the staff at this nursery and I would definitely recommend.

This is an excellent nursery - frankly the best in the area. I'm very lucky to live walking distance from it. The staff are kind and caring, and both my children loved their time there. Their caring and inclusive environment has perfectly prepared them for school.

Our child started her settling in days in August. This was one of the most difficult things to face as a parent. After a few weeks hse became more familiar with the staff and began to enjoy her days at nursery. Everyone was very supportive throughout the whole process. We are very happy with this nursery
and would definitely recommend to all parents.

My children have been both attending East Barnet Bright Horizons since each of them turned 10 months old. One is four now, preparing for the transition to reception and the other is almost three years old, preparing for increased independence. Bright Horizons have really helped provide a safe and enriching
learning environment for both of my children. I am very happy that I chose East Barnet Bright Horizons for my children. Every key person/staff member make it enjoyable for both of them and they are cared for beyond point of imagination. Thank you Bright Horizons.

The nursery is a fantastic place and can not do enough for my child or me. Every member of staff is welcoming throughout. My child has come on leaps and bounds throughout the nursery and will 100% ready for school next September. I will be sad when he has to leave as they are all wonderful people and

My son just left Bright Horizons to start school. He has had a wonderful 2 years at the nursery, looked after by some brilliant people and learnt a lot of important new things.
His carers, especially at preschool level are very good, he will definitely miss them. My highest recommendation.

The staff here are excellent and our son really enjoys his time at the nursery, often happily diving out of our arms into theirs at the start of the day. There is a wide variety of food on offer, and the staff ensure that the kids get enough, providing double portions if necessary. The rooms and garden
are well equipped with toys and very clean, plus they are often doing planned activities like baking cakes or making pizzas. The management are always very responsive to our queries and we feel the team are very supportive in trying to encourage our son's development. All of the children seem very happy and we are very pleased with our choice.

A great nursery. All three of my children have attended and have been extremely happy. The management team work really well with the other members of staff, there is a lovely atmosphere when entering so I’m put at ease knowing my children are in a warm, welcoming environment, All members of staff are
approachable with concerns, comments and are happy to hear about the children’s lives outside of the nursery.
My children’s key persons are lovely and really do genuinely care for them.
A lovely nursery, which I am more than happy to recommend to friends and family.

Our family has had the pleasure to have our child at East Barnet for just over the past two years. In that time, he has spent time in almost all of the age rooms. He has had close connections with all of the staff (not just his own room or with his key workers) and made many close friends with his peers.
Many of his peers have remained with him for over 2 years. He has fun every day as he learns, especially enjoying time in the garden, sports lessons, French singing, cooking and dancing. He asks to go to nursery and chats at home about his day there. We are leaving the area so have to say goodbye which is incredibly sad as we would love to take East Barnet with us and have our second child start soon too!

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Gemma, the Nursery Manager, has been working in Early Years Education for twelve years. She first obtained a Level 3 qualification in childcare before advancing to university, where she earned a degree in Education Studies.


Her passion lies in providing the best possible outcomes for the next generation. She finds great fulfilment in helping children develop through their learning journeys and supporting them in their next steps. Gemma joined Bright Horizons at the beginning of 2017 as a Room Leader and progressed through various managerial roles before being promoted to Nursery Manager.


She looks forward to welcoming families to the nursery and supporting them throughout their experience.
