First Steps Day Nursery provides quality and inspirational learning for children up to eleven years old.

It provides a nurturing and caring environment where everyone feels welcome and valued in their own right.

It has established an enviable reputation for delivering a high-quality childcare service and this is recognised by both parents and Ofsted.

Our 3-year-old has been attending First Steps since he was one in Happy Hedgehogs. We initially had a tour of the nursery and didn't need to look elsewhere; they took time to do two visits (Covid) to ensure both myself and my partner could see the nursery. The facilities are amazing, there are always
amazing setups for the children to play with. We've had some struggles with our little man both at nursery and personally, and the staff have always been supportive and great and giving us advice, especially in relation to behaviour. They also ensure they are consistent at nursery with routines we follow at home, which really helps our little man as he can be very emotional at times. The food menu is also brilliant; they cater to our little man who has smaller portions as he doesn't like being over-faced, again a suggestion from them to help support his eating. We can drop him off knowing he'll be well cared for, and we would absolutely recommend it to any parent requiring nursery care.

My son loves attending nursery on his set days which takes the load of a working parent knowing your child is happy. Very friendly staff and they all seem to get involved with the children to ensure its a safe and clean environment. My favourite part is the app as we can see each day photos of my son
in nursery, what he has eaten and what activities he has completed in the day. Very impressed!

The guys at First Steps are honestly lovely, my son can be somewhat difficult at times and I worry a lot about him and they have never once made me feel like I'm asking too much! They are patient and polite with a real family feel running throughout the daycare! I absolutely love the app they provide
daily updates on your child such as what they have and haven't eaten, photos of them playing, nappy changes a little bit of everything!

I absolutely love this nursery! They work fantastically as a team and my child has bloomed since starting there two months ago, he really enjoys it and never likes to leave. This is by far the best nursery I have ever witnessed and I will choose this nursery for each of my children in the future. They
work at a high standard and the nursery itself is clean, safe, very well presented and organised for the development of the young children.

My son has been attending First Steps since January 2022. This has been the third nursery we've sent him to due to the others not being a perfect fit. When my son started he could only say eight clear words at the age of 3, had a severe developmental delay and was still in nappies. In the space of ten
months my son is now on track in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the nursery has helped me get speech and language therapy in place, and my son can say clear sentences and have a conversation with me. They've supported me with behaviour management and toilet training and my son is nearly completely out of nappies, something we didn't see being a possibility months ago. I can't thank this nursery enough for all the support, effort and opportunities they've provided for my child.

The staff go over and beyond for each individual child and their needs. I've had personal issues with my eldest who has been attending the nursery since January 2020, and the staff have helped me with the personal issues and their continuing support. Fantastic setting and all the information given to
you via pick up on how your child's day has been is amazing. Some days can be challenging but I wouldn't have picked a better nursery setting for my eldest to be in. I'll be sending my youngest next year after her 2nd birthday.

I was looking for more consistent childcare and learning for my son and when I went to visit the nursery, I felt at ease right away, the manager showed me round and allowed me to take it all in. I was amazed by the facilities and space that they have. All the staff are so friendly and it has a family
atmosphere and I am really happy that I have chosen First Steps Nursery for my son. My son has been so happy to go in and that makes me so much more confident in him spending his time there!

We have had both our son and daughter in First Steps Day Nursery. Our son is now at school but started at the age of one. I was nervous about putting him into a nursery so young. We looked at four nurseries before visiting First Steps. The staff made us feel very comfortable leaving him in their care
and he loved going there from day one. We moved a couple of years ago to a different area and changed nursery as the drive was long. After three months of having our son in the new nursery, we did not feel like our son was looked after in the same caring way and quickly changed back again. We both felt that even with a fairly long drive back and forth it was worth having him at First Steps Nursery. I would recommend first steps nursery to anyone as the staff are caring, and professional and will always communicate with us if any concerns. We have only had really good experience with this nursery.

Both children are with this nursery and we would highly recommend them. They have been really helpful and flexible with work patterns and always make sure they do the best they can to make sure they can meet our requests. Our children are always so happy to go to nursery and are always excited when
they see the nursery and the staff. We are always kept up to date with everything that happens at nursery from what they ate to how their day has been. The two years we have been with them so far they have been fantastic!

We couldn’t recommend First Steps enough.
Both our children have been through the nursery and have both been really happy and confident there.
Staff are always friendly and enthusiastic on drop off/collection and the app is updated throughout the day so we can see what they have done throughout
the day before pick up time.
We know they are always in safe hands and are going to have a great day when we leave them in the morning.

First steps nursery has been a part of my daughter's life since she was 8 months old, she’s now 4 years old, and I’ve always felt happy leaving her there and my daughter is also happy to be going. The manager is lovely and very helpful, and so are all the other staff. The nursery is clean and very welcoming

From the moment you step through the door of this nursery, you feel part of the family. Not only do they welcome my son daily with big smiles they also welcome my eldest each day and ask about his day (he's in school). My little boy started with a number of medical needs and the staff at the nursery
have been fantastic and very supportive, even when new medical issues have presented the staff have been so reassuring and made me feel confident and comfortable leaving my son in their care.

We are very pleased with First Steps and both our children currently attend. The manager is really hands-on and always knows what has happened with all the children which are reassuring. I’ve been particularly impressed with how the preschool room has helped my son with fussy eating habits, they’ve
been so patient and encouraging with him. Both our children love attending and eat a really varied and balanced diet there, with plenty of outdoor play. The nursery is also very clean.

We are really pleased we chose First Steps Nursery for our daughter. There is a warm, friendly environment and the staff go above and beyond to care for the needs of every child. Staff plan a range of engaging activities every day, linking to the 7 areas of learning and development in the EYFS and we've
been impressed at how quickly staff have identified the activities our daughter enjoys. Communication with the nursery is excellent. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff, she has settled in well and seems to really enjoy her time there.

What a fantastic group of women who genuinely care for the children in the nursery. I am so pleased and grateful for how these ladies have supported my son with his eating habits, toilet training and his speech. The difference in my son from when he started nursery to now is remarkable and the nursery
maintains very good communication with me on everything. My son always walks in with a cheeky smile on his face and on the days he isn’t in a smiley mood his met with smiles, encouragement and hugs. This is very reassuring for me as a parent. Staff are always very friendly, and helpful and in our experience have gone the extra mile to support my son. I appreciate these lovely ladies for the amazing care and for creating a lovely warm environment for our children.

My 2 year old currently attends First Steps Day Nursery and has thoroughly enjoyed it from day one. Despite entering the nursery during COVID-19, I have always felt comfortable with our choice as our child has never been upset being left even though we weren't able to drop her off and settle her. Her
communication and particularly her speech are excellent and I believe this to be a testament to the variety of engaging activities provided such as reading books, singing, crafts and free play with the other children. The outside space is also a huge positive at this setting as it is well maintained again with a variety of activities from simply kicking a ball to musical instruments.


Communication by the nursery is excellent with the use of Parent Zone throughout each session providing all the details on meals, naps and nappies alongside pictures of my daughter enjoying her day. They regularly hold parent's mornings to enable a face to face catch up and are always happy to answer queries by phone or email.

My children really enjoy attending First Steps nursery.


The staff are caring and engage well with all children. They are always respectful, open and happy to answer parents' questions, worries or concerns. They create a lovely nurturing environment for children to learn in and I am confident that

my children are safe whilst at nursery.


The activities that the children take part in are fun and have a clear structure that links to early years education. The use of Parent Zone has been an invaluable tool to keep abreast of the children’s activities and learning on a daily basis over the past couple of years. Communication is excellent from the management.


I would not hesitate to recommend the nursery.

We are extremely happy with First Steps and so glad that we made this choice for our little boy. Our son has some emerging additional needs and we feel indebted to all of the staff at the nursery especially the Manager and one member of staff in particular who ensure that a plethora of developmental
opportunities are available for our son to engage in. Our little boy's unique qualities and individuality are celebrated and the nursery's focus on inclusive education and equality allows our son to feel safe, cared for, and valued every day. The staff are extremely professional and possess an excellent working knowledge and understanding of the early year's framework and how to provide stimulating activities, differentiate and provide the appropriate stretch and challenge for all children in their care. Our son is happy and content in the nursery and the quality of childcare provision is outstanding.

Absolutely fantastic.


The team are lovely and my daughter is extremely happy here. She is developing well and we receive updates every day about her progress and the activities she is engaging in.


I do shift work and have had to change my daughter's schedule on numerous occasions. The nursery

has been extremely accommodating and helpful, even when these changes have been short notice.


Kudos to all the team for their hard work and dedication in helping develop/educate our little precious little children.
