First Steps Day Nursery provides quality and inspirational learning for children up to eleven years old.

It provides a nurturing and caring environment where everyone feels welcome and valued in their own right.

I have 2 sons who attend First Steps Nursery, my youngest having very high sensory needs. The staff and management have gone out of their way to ensure he feels as comfortable as possible at nursery, even by buying new equipment to cater for his personal needs and requesting extra training to learn
more about children with Autism/sensory need. As a mother, I feel completely at ease knowing my sons are in an excellent nursery which is more than 100% dedicated in our children's well being and needs. Both my sons have come on massively since being at First Steps Nursery.

We have 1 child at this nursery and the difference in quality compared to the last is outstanding.
Our child had difficulty with his speech and behaviour and being at First Steps, has really settled him and they've really nurtured his development in the last month.
He's speaking more, being kinder
and learning new concepts all the time and really getting him to actually engage.
I'm really impressed with the overall quality and most importantly communication with this nursery.
Outstanding staff.

My son loves going to First Steps Day Nursery. The staff are brilliant with him and you can tell they really care about the children. They give useful feedback when I see them in person and detailed reports about his day via the app. The management are also very friendly and understanding. He's learning
and developing at a fantastic rate by attending.

Thanks to First Steps, my once introvert, shy toddler at a previous nursery, is now a bubbly sociable "big girl" who skips into nursery (literally) and has lots of friends. This is down to the hard work every single staff member puts in here. They have not pushed her, they have just provided her with
encouragement and given her the confidence she needed! On pick up, the staff give the parents the individual time to tell you stories of your little one's day! I am one very happy Mummy! Thank you to all of you for making such a huge difference!

The staff at First Steps Day Nursery are amazing. They are all friendly and approachable and they will do everything within their power to accommodate you and your child.


My son is thriving at the nursery and he absolutely loves it. It is a very homely environment, his welfare is of paramount importance

to staff and he is coming along so well. The care he receives is second to none.

My child had never been to nursery before and so he struggled to settle in at first, this really worried me but the staff were so supportive and reassuring. They let me do as many settling sessions as I wanted until I felt happy about leaving him. They did their best to distract him, tried lots of different
tricks and things to keep him happy and this made me feel so much better. Now he absolutely loves coming and has a great bond with the staff in his room. I could not be happier with the care that he gets whilst I am at work. They are always posting pictures of what he has been up to on the app, so I can see all the fab activities he gets to do!

I have two children who who attended First Steps for the past 4 years. There has been a changeover of ownership and management in this time which was unsettling but I can honestly say it has gone from strength to strength and is a fantastic nursery. It is led by an extremely focused and friendly management
team who have an open door policy which is great as you can pop in on your way to or from work. Nothing is too much trouble and any query is dealt with quickly. All staff are outstanding with the children and feel like personal friends as the years have gone by. There is always something going on from visiting fire stations to bringing your grandparent in and there is a pleasant atomosphere. I can go to work safe in the knowledge my children are happy and being cared for as well as they were if they were at home. They are shown lots of love and care which is so important to me. The food is always fresh and cooked from scratch and has lots of variety. I would definitely recommend

Both my sons enjoy their time at nursery. My three year old has a great relationship with the staff in his room and looks forward to seeing them in the morning. He has also made some lovely friendships with a few of the children in his room and loves playing with them.
My 10 month old has recently
started at First Steps Day Nursery, at first he was having trouble settling in, however, the staff in his room have been really good and he now loves going in and seeing their friendly faces.

My child has been attending this nursery since July and I couldn't be more happier. After viewing a few nurseries in the local area I decided to bring my child to First Steps because of the homely feeling it has. I feel like my child is cared for on daily bases just as well as myself which makes me
feel reassured whilst I'm at work. When I ring the nursery during my dinner break the manager and deputy manager are helpful and put me through to someone in my child's room. The office has an open door policy so if I have any queries they are always happy to help. The foods that are on the menu are well balanced and my child really enjoys these, I like that the nursery offers some meals which are vegan and everything is made fresh there because I know they are not full of foods that are harmful to my child. The nursery uses an online system called parent zone which myself and my wife access throughout the day via an app on our phones, this is updated with what he's been doing during the day.

My daughter has been attending here since September 2017 & she absolutely loves it. All of the staff are amazing, I have never had any issues or concerns at all. The staff in the preschool room are lovely & my daughter has fitted in perfectly & is coming on brilliantly. I also think the value for money
is fantastic in regards to the opening hours & what is provided within this price. I can not recommend this nursery enough!

Where to begin...
As a first-time mum putting my 9-month-old baby boy into nursery was a daunting experience, even though I understand the importance of the early years to children's development it was still quite scary. Anyway, one month down the line, my little boy absolutely loves it and so do I.
I'm already seeing the change in his confidence, his independence, the way he is with other children and his development is coming along great! The ladies who look after my boy in Cubs and Hedgehogs are fantastic, you can see the genuine care and affection they have for him and the real bond they have :). I'm really looking forward to seeing him progress through the nursery and feel totally comfortable leaving my boy in such great hands.

My son has only attended this nursery since January 2017 and in that short space of time, his confidence has bloomed! He is so comfortable with all the staff and always comes home talking about the ladies and his friends. We love to log into ParentZone together and look at what he has been up to throughout
the day. I can't thank the staff enough for supporting me in toilet training over the last month, they have been happy in doing exactly the same as what I have been doing at home and now after just a few weeks, my child is fully toilet trained. Thanks girls! You do a fab job!

Cannot recommend this nursery enough, my son started in January this year and he has come on so well! He used to scream and cry going in, but now he absolutely loves it. The staff in his room, dashing deers have been amazing with him, such lovely people, all the staff I have met there are really nice.
I love that I can log in on their website and see what he has been up to in the day. I have no worries whatsoever when he is there as I know he is with people who genuinely care about children and their development.
My son has struggled with his speech and at 2 when he started, he wasn't really talking at all. Now he's doing really well and I think a lot of that is to do with coming to first steps. Everyone can see the change in my little boy, he has gained a lot more confidence. I'm so glad I put him in this nursery as it truly is at a very high standard and I can't wait to see how well he develops as he moves up room up until he starts school.

I am so happy with the care given to my 9 month old little boy! I was so nervous leaving him but the nursery offered settling in days and made us both feel so welcome! My little boy kicks with excitement when we pull up outside and the staff are warm friendly and approachable! I am kept updated daily
via an app on his day including nappy changes and meals! I couldn't recommend the nursery enough!

My toddler who attends this nursery is on the Autistic Spectrum. I am extremely impressed with the way he is progressing with the support of the staff, in particular, his key worker. She is supporting and guiding my son way above what is required of her. She keeps him calm, focused and allows him to
participate according to his complex needs. She is excellent at her job. She really is an absolute asset to this nursery as are all the staff. They are all very helpful and make me, as a parent of an autistic child feel comfortable, relaxed and very grateful for the fantastic job that they do. I felt I had to post this to do justice to the work that takes place at this nursery. Well done.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was 12 months old. She's now 3.5 years and it has had such a positive impact on her life. The staff at the nursery are excellent. They treat your child as an individual and with great respect and dignity. The management should be proud of how far the nursery
has come. There have been many positive changes. The management team are friendly and approachable. I have recommended the nursery to a few people and would not hesitate to do so over again. I am so comfortable with the nursery that I will be sending my 2nd child there when I return to work. This is despite the fact that it is not in our preferred location since we have actually moved house in July. I would much rather travel a bit out of my way to receive the standards of care that the setting provides.
Nursery's like this are hard to come by. The standards are a credit to all of the staff. They have a very important and difficult job to perform at times and they do it extremely well.

Both my children have attended First Steps Day Nursery from the age of 8 months. They have loved every minute, all the staff are friendly, caring, supportive & treat my children with love care & respect. First Steps Day Nursery always have a very flexible approach & have helped us out immensely with
being adaptable with our childcare needs.
My eldest child has required some extra help as she has some additional needs & they have been only too happy to help & support wherever possible.
We love First Steps & will miss it lots when my youngest goes to school next year.
