At Montessori by Busy Bees Wandsworth they offer a child-centred approach by implementing the Montessori pedagogy and philosophy. They follow the children’s interests and promote high levels of independence, always recognising that children learn at different paces.

The Montessori and EYFS qualified team work together to ensure that, from babies' early developmental years through to preparation for primary school, each child realises their full potential through carefully developed individual learning plans.

The Nursery values the parents’ views and have a strong partnership with them. They offer three formal parent-teacher meetings a year, a fortnightly newsletter and they also have a Parent Committee which meets with them twice per term.

The Nursery has three classrooms (Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school) and a huge garden that serves as an extension to the rooms, providing meaningful learning experiences.

They do regular outings to local parks, library and Vauxhall farm, and they also offer Spanish+Music lessons and Forest School sessions weekly.

The Italian on-site chef prepares homemade meals providing healthy and well-balanced nutrition.

    Additional Information:
    There is a non-refundable Registration Fee payable to secure your place of £100
    £50 of this fee will be credited to the first invoice issued to you following your child’s start date.
    Fees are based on 52 weeks per year, paid monthly in advance
    A minimum booking of 2 sessions per week is required
    Minimum Notice requirements apply, see Terms and Conditions
    No refunds will be given for sickness or holidays.
    Fees are subject to review in accordance with the Terms and Conditions

This nursery provides a range of activities for the children based on a wide range of Montessori principles, utilising the nursery and the surrounding community to help the children grow and develop. The staff are friendly and genuinely care about the children and both our child and those in their
class seem well cared for and happy. They are also well fed! The range of food the children receive is as varied as the activities available which is great, and they seem to cater for allergies and other dietary requirements well.


The hours the nursery is open is another positive for us as working parents and the fact there is indoor and outdoor space for children to play and explore throughout the day is another major positive for us.


The only minor negative comment is that the nursery itself is due for refurbishment so at present it is not in as nice a state as I'm sure it will be by the end of the year when the refurbishment is meant to have been completed.

The nursery has a lovely friendly and loving atmosphere and the staff are very caring. My children have thrived under the Montessori framework and it's great to watch them learning and exploring.

I have had children at this nursery going through the baby room to toddler to pre-school room for almost 5 years and I have been very happy with it.


Without a doubt, the strength of this nursery is in its staff. They are all so loving and caring but firm when needed and that is the most important

thing for me.


It is a small, cosy nursery with outdoor space which is not huge but enough. It's also very close to a park so, in the summertime, trips are made there for playtime but I think more frequent trips there would be good.


The onsite chef is great. The children love him and he makes delicious food.


The nursery was recently bought by Busy Bees and notification of this from head office was quite late but I'm pleased to say that this change hasn't had much impact on all the good things about this nursery.


I have recommended this nursery to local friends in the past and I will continue to do so.

Job Title: Centre Director

Hi, my name is Marta, and I am the Centre Director at Montessori by Busy Bees, South Lambeth.


I have been working in childcare for the past 13 years and love every minute spent in the nursery. Growing up in a childcare environment (both my mum and grandma were early years teachers) has prepared me well for my career. I moved from a company that had a bespoke curriculum based on Forest School, Bruna, Reggio Emilia and Montessori theories and I realised that I would love to work in a full Montessori environment as it provides unique opportunities for each child to thrive in their own way and pace. I believe that the Montessori method of teaching is the best start we can offer to our children. 


I joined Busy Bees, South Lambeth because I’ve fallen in love with the building, children and team on my first visit. I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential and working closely with parents and the lovely team, here at South Lambeth, will help us achieve this.
