Located in a beautifully converted old school in the quiet village of Fen Drayton, Sunhill Fen Drayton Nursery is a truly unique, warm and homely nursery in the heart of the community. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Babies join the nursery in the Stars Room and as they grow and develop, toddlers transition into the Sunbeams Room. These rooms have their own garden with slides, a mud kitchen, a water play area, a sandpit, a discovery area, seesaws and a rocking horse. The nursery encourages independence skills and children are able to free flow between indoor and outdoor areas throughout the day.

When children are 3 years old, they transition into the pre-school room. The children in pre-school have their own garden with 2 climbing frames, a mud kitchen, a construction area, a literacy area, a maths area, a water play area, a sandpit, and a canoe. Free flow is also encouraged between the indoor and outdoor space.

Inside, the rooms are warm and welcoming complete with carefully selected resources to enrich the children’s learning and development.

Thanks to the nursery's picturesque setting, the children will often go on walks around the village to visit the local nature reserve, shops and the church, helping to extend and enrich the children’s learning beyond the nursery setting.

Being a "lockdown baby", our daughter hadn't socialised much before starting nursery. It has made such a great difference. She is more confident around people and new places. She also learns new things every day at the nursery. She loves going there and is always smiley and chatty when she leaves.

My daughter thoroughly enjoys every day she spends at the nursery. The nursery provides so many different activities for the children to do with so many opportunities for the children to learn through play. I love the photos that are sent showing the children at play when you are wondering at home what
they are getting up to. Very happy that we chose Fen Drayton for our little one.

Although we live 25 miles away, we chose to place our boy here from September 2019 one full day a week as its location is just a mile away from where I worked. Even though just one month later I switched jobs, my son immediately loved it here so we chose to keep sending him. It's a lovely old building
with lots of character and not at all clinical like most chain nurseries. The staff are absolutely amazing; particularly the staff for making sure our son's development is carefully logged and shared with his local pre-school which he also attends. Even attending Fen Drayton just one day a week he has learnt and developed so much and literally runs to the car every Friday morning full of excitement to be going to 'daddy work nursery', and at pick-up, he's smiling and happy and excited to share what he'd done during the day. Every week during lockdown he would ask if 'people are better yet?' hopeful of being able to return. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This nursery provided us with an individual tailored service taking into account our child's specific needs. Every time I pick up and drop off the staff are directly interacting with all the children. A child's emotions are always reacted to in a respectful and kind manner. They always look happy and
comfortable but are not forced to be happy. The garden and rooms are lovely and I am always jealous of the lunches.

Our little girl has been attending Fen Drayton Montessori nursery for the past six months. She loves it, and we are very happy too. The staff are warm and friendly, taking time to get to know the children and families. There are well organised activities every day, all of which are both fun for the
children and support their learning. The nursery itself has a warm and homely atmosphere and offers both indoor and outdoor areas for play.
The food is homemade and the menu is varied and seasonal, much better quality than other settings we have encountered.
We are confident that our little girl is happy and well cared for, and that the nursery offers a safe and stimulating environment for her. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for childcare in the local area.

Fantastic, continuous support given to our child.
Her development really flourishes under the staff's supervision and guidance.
The company should support them in their activities and to keep updating the indoors and outdoor environment.

I cannot compliment this nursery enough. My daughter has been in this nursery since she was 6 months old and now she is nearly 3 and a half years old, not even once have they given me a chance to complain about anything. My daughter loves it. My two older daughters had nannies and if I could go back
in time I would choose this nursery over nannies. They have a holistic approach towards children's needs and development. They are very accommodating and understanding.

I am extremely happy with the nursery. My niece attended for the last 3 years and has developed so well whilst being here.
The staff are all welcoming and every time I collected her, the feedback was always of a very high standard. I like the fact that I have information that I can pass on to her
parents when they collect them from me in the afternoon. The involvement and feedback that I receive is so much better than her other local preschool attached to the school. My niece absolutely loves the mud kitchen, and spent most of her time outdoors! I cannot praise the staff enough

The staff have taken a lot of care to help my daughter settle in at nursery. They have a good knowledge of what she enjoys (and does not enjoy!) and encourage her to try new activities. Overall, we have been pleased with my daughter's experience at Fen Drayton Montessori over the last year. The staff are so friendly and she will miss them and her friends.
Recent high levels of staff turnover have left us feeling unsettled and unhappy with the continuity in her care. My daughter tends
to get very attached to certain staff members and the frequency in which staff have been leaving has been difficult for her.
