Banana Moon Day Nursery in Lower Sundon is a warm and friendly setting, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside just north of Luton.

The nursery is a very outdoorsy setting, each of the rooms has its own outdoor play space, and the setting also has its own field on the premises! There are 3 rooms, one for each age group (Under 2s, Toddlers 2-3, and Preschool 3+), and each is an airy space, with resources to stimulate learning appropriate for each child.

The team pride themselves on their pedagogy of learning through play, inspired by their children's interests or by wider events, such as the Luton Carnival, Diwali, Royal events or National Nursery Rhyme week. They follow In the Moment Planning, scaffolding the children's learning by following their interests and interacting in a supportive and cooperative way.

The team are all trained in Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Paediatric First Aid and other areas.

Home-cooked meals are prepared on-site and provide the children with a nutritious and balanced diet required for healthy development.

I feel like my son is really enjoying his time at nursery and seems to have learnt something new each week. His confidence has grown so much over the last few months, and I feel like the girls really make me feel at ease at drop-off and pick-up.

I discovered Banana Moon by accident and I am so very glad that I did - from the expansive outside space, forest school and 'neigh'bouring horses to the daily care and attention received from the staff, all is just brilliant.
My daughter has attended for 2 years now, with just 9 months to go before
she starts big school. We will both be sad to be leaving such a wonderful setting and brilliant people behind. It's safe to say that my daughter loves being there. She has flourished and grown into a very independent and confident little girl, which I put down to the guidance received at Banana Moon. A far cry from the tearful toddler I dropped off on her first day.
She has formed such wonderful bonds with the staff and has previously referred to people as 'my' when talking about them. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for helping me get her to where she is today, you all feel like extended family to both of us.

We want to thank you all for everything you have done for our little people and us as parents with your words of wisdom.
You have been amazing with our 3, the last 3 years have flown by and it's been a pleasure getting to know you all.
You have played a huge part in shaping them all to the little
people they are today and I am eternally grateful. As you know, the kids absolutely adore you all, they want you all to come round for play dates.
To the manager, thank you for everything, without you rushing to get the preschool room completed we might not have started our journey with you. You have been a comfort through tough times with our little people and your words have been inspiring.
The preschool manager - where do I start?! The kids love you - I honestly do think they see you as their second mum, with all 3 of them, you all have your own little special bonds.
I could go through you all and list all the amazing ways you have helped and nurtured our little people but this might then turn into a book.

Fabulous nursery, my two girls have been attending since they were babies and loved them from the first day. My eldest is now in reception and she remembers Banana Moon Day Nursery and the wonderful tram every day. It feels like a second home. Lovely staff that will be missed when my youngest moves

My daughter first joined Banana Moon at 2 years old having spent the last year in and out of Covid lockdowns, hardly seeing or being left with anyone. We had visited a few other settings prior to our visit but none of them were what we were after! After visiting Banana Moon our decision was made very
quickly that this would be the only setting our daughter would attend! From the beautiful highly resourced rooms, the passionate enthusiastic staff and the incredible outdoor area it had my heart from the get-go! The staff were incredible with our daughter, helped her settle at her own pace and she was soon running in, no looking back! There were times over the years when our daughter was upset leaving me but the staff put in so much work/activities to help her! Our daughter has just left the preschool to start big school and they have been such a massive part of her journey and we couldn’t be more grateful! I would recommend it over and over!

Outstanding nursery. My little girl flourished here and the staff go above and beyond to ensure children are happy and safe. Their communication is fabulous, regular updates on your child and the kids are given new fun learning activities daily. Would absolutely recommend.

Our son attended Banana Moon in Lower Sundon from age one until he left for school in September 2022. I am so grateful for all the care he received while there. Our son had very bad eczema as a baby with a restricted diet and we were nervous about leaving him in someone else's care. From day one the
staff and cook attended to his extra requirements. He had a varied diet with meals prepared in-house - something that was important to us.
The children were outdoors every day. The gardens and field were a great place for the children to learn about nature and adventure in a really safe environment. It was lovely to get daily updates with photos on the app.
The team were amazing during the 3 and a half years - they coped with the challenges of covid and always kept us informed. They created a warm, caring, learning environment that has set our son up to transition to school as a confident, inquisitive child, open to new situations.
Our son loved his time at Banana Moon and I thoroughly recommend it.

My son will be leaving Banana Moon Day Nursery Lower Sundon soon but he started at their toddler nursery. Having had no previous experience of dealing with childcare, I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with Banana Moon Day Nursery Lower Sundon. They offer an excellent and varied
menu for children and they promote the outdoors a lot, which is good because it is a wonderful rural setting, with horses in neighbouring fields. I remember being told, 'if the children aren't coming home covered in paint and mud, then we aren't doing our jobs', I signed up then and there. A minor criticism is that there seems to be a steady turnover of staff, which is a shame because they are all suitably qualified and great with my son. The difficulty is my son struggles to form attachments and the staff changes have probably slowed the bonding process. That said, most other kids, go with the flow. Parents are kept well updated about our children via an app and periodic monthly progress. In summary, I would sign him up again tomorrow!

Our son has been attending Banana Moon Day Nursery Lower Sundon since he was 11 months old and has had a wonderful experience over the almost 4 years of attending. He has formed some great bonds with the staff and other children in attendance. We will be very sad when his time to leave and move to school
arrives. Banana Moon have been great at dealing with an allergy that our son has and always ensures that our worries are considered and if needed alternate meals are made available for him. Thank you to all the staff at Banana Moon Day Nursery Lower Sundon.

My son has been attending the nursery for nearly two years, and we can only voice positive words about the nursery and all the staff members. Our son enjoys attending the nursery and is developing and thriving due to all the staff members support and efforts in supporting him. We particularly love how
the nursery uses their environment (indoor and outdoor) and resources to support my son to access and learn steps within the EYFS. We have also noticed how much his speech and social development has improved since attending nursery, and we couldn't be any more proud and thankful. The nursery lead and her team are nothing but professional and are always there to support our son and the family. The place is simply amazing and we cannot bear the thought for when he has to leave. Our daughter has been at Banana Moon for over two years. The nursery is an outstanding hive of learning for children. The staff are very friendly and provide a creative and happy place for children to learn and develop. The nursery’s location provides a large outside space with fields for lots of outdoor

A brilliant nursery! My child loves going to nursery and has built great relationships with the staff. The staff are kind and caring and do a great job of providing a variety of opportunities for the children. The nursery environment is very positive, safe and nurturing for the children to explore

What a wonderful place this is for your tiny one!
The encouragement to enjoy and explore the outside space is a key reason why I love sending my son here.
The manager of the nursery shows clear experience and understanding of the needs of children and you feel most assured knowing that your child
is cared for by staff under her guidance.
The team are friendly, polite and keen to learn about your child and their wants, needs, routines, fears and joys.
For busy mums and dads, access and parking is easy and straightforward and calm each morning, plenty of space to safely drop off and take home your child minus traffic congestion or worry.
My child's clothes are always a state when he returns home! Which I love! it means he is undertaking fully interactive messy experiences (without messing my own house up!) he explores new foods and tastes and I feel fully comfortable leaving him there, especially due to the support and guidance I was given in that worrying time of initial settling.

And a fun fact about me is that at Banana Moon Lower Sundon we have not one, not two but three Sarah's! Some of the children refer to me as "The Orange Sara" Due to my hair!


The reason on why I enjoy working with children is I get to meet new families on a daily basis and make the transition into settling into a new nursery a smooth and welcoming one! No day is ever the same in a nursery and the children bring so much fun, joy and laughter to my day!
