Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

A warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to the nursery is fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and milk, and they provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by the nursery's own chef.

The large outdoor area with a herb and vegetable garden allows children to explore the world around, and there are two outdoor areas, one of which is for preschool children, the second being an all year round outdoor learning centre, enabling children to learn outdoors whatever the weather.

There is a lovely mud kitchen that has been extended for children to explore, including seating for children to sit down & play throughout the day. As children move out of toddlerhood and into the independence of the preschool years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning, where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn.

At this stage children at Court Oak need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increased understanding of the world and how it works.

We have been very happy with our experience. Our son was initially unsettled when beginning nursery but settled quite quickly and has clearly established bonds with staff. He seems to be happy, confident and (mostly) relaxed in nursery, which is the most important thing to us.
Sensitive care was also
taken by staff and management regarding our son's medical issue.

We are very happy with the nursery, in particular, the team in the baby room. They have built great relationships with our daughter.
There has clearly been some turbulence in the management of the nursery which has resulted in small problems (no feedback books for a month), but overall, we are happy.

Both my daughter and my son have come to Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool, my son still attends. I love the nursery and feel the staff are amazing. Not only do I feel they are bringing my children on with his social skills and I feel that my child is in a safe environment.

My husband and I are happy with the care our son receives from this nursery. All the staff are really caring, loving and professional. In the beginning, we wanted a more detailed report of what he is doing daily but this improved and we sometimes get pictures.

My son loves this nursery. The staff are all great at Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool; very friendly and great attention to detail in the daily report. You feel very confident your children are being looked after well which makes going to work easier for a first time mum. My boy
does lots of activities everyday and is learning so much, he shows me new things he has learnt everyday. I'm also impressed at the great variety and food the children get! Would recommend the nursery to everyone!

I had to put my 9-month-old baby girl into nursery and go back to work before I was ready. The team at Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool put me at ease and it wasn't as awful as I thought it would be. My baby is clearly very happy there. Thank you.

My daughter started at Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool when she was 10 months and the staff lovingly welcomed her in and tried to make her feel comfortable and welcome. The took care to learn her routine and what she liked and disliked. They give her plenty of attention and cuddles
when she wants.


They keep the kids busy with different activities and she is always coming home learning new things. It has helped her become more vocal and mobile and also improved how she communicates what she wants.

We have two boys at the nursery and we have been really pleased with the care and kindness they receive.


Our youngest has only just started and the staff have been really supportive in helping him settle.


Our eldest bounces home at the end of the day full of stories of their activities and learning

The nursery staff show a constant duty of care. Extremely welcoming, they accommodated my child and helped her settle in. Her transition from home to the first term of education was definitely easier due to the key person who communicates with my family about my child's progress and needs.

My daughter has been attending Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool for only a month so far but she has enjoyed every second of it. We just moved to this city and we were a bit nervous about her transition from the previous nursery but the staff made her feel at home from the very first
day and helped her settle in easier than we expected. The nursery has brought her on in so many ways including teaching her English as this was n't her first language. She's always surprising us with the things she learnt. The staff are so kind and she always feels great around them.

My son seems to have adapted very quickly to his surroundings in nursery. This has been due to the level of care he has received at Court Oak. We were apprehensive about sending him to nursery but we have chosen a great one and are impressed with his development in the short time he has attended.

Since our daughter started at the nursery 5 months ago we feel very reassured in a morning that we are leaving her in a safe environment where she is developing well and is cared for by excellent staff. We feel confident that she is learning and receive daily feedback on her progress at the end of each
day. I would prefer to have this via an online postal - perhaps this is something that the nursery will introduce soon as I'm certain that other parents would prefer this method of communication.

We placed our son into Court Oak Kindergarten for one day a week to settle him in before going full time and couldn't be happier. He has settled really well and we haven't had many tears at all. Staff are great and the premises are always clean, tidy and fresh.

Hello, my name is Abigail, but most people know me as Abiy.


In 2003, my journey with Bright Horizons began as a Nursery Nurse. After taking a brief part-time break to have my daughter, I returned to the Nursery. Over time, I advanced to the role of a room leader and ultimately secured a full-time position as Nursery Manager.


Concurrently, I pursued and successfully earned a degree in Early Years Childhood Studies.

My name is Sophie and I have been with Bright Horizons since December 2017. Within 9 months I had thrived and been given my role as a Room Leader within the preschool room and was training for my role as Third in Charge. I have recently been promoted to the position of Deputy Manager of the Nursery at the end of 2018 and Bright Horizons has helped me to develop the skills needed to go with this position. Bright Horizons has provided me with lots of training and filled me with confidence for all of my roles and I feel the appreciation from the company for all of the hard work that I provide. I feel that all staff who are welcomed into the company are given the correct training that they need in order to thrive within their positions within the settings.
