Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

A warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to the nursery is fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and milk, and they provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by the nursery's own chef.

The large outdoor area with a herb and vegetable garden allows children to explore the world around, and there are two outdoor areas, one of which is for preschool children, the second being an all year round outdoor learning centre, enabling children to learn outdoors whatever the weather.

There is a lovely mud kitchen that has been extended for children to explore, including seating for children to sit down & play throughout the day. As children move out of toddlerhood and into the independence of the preschool years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning, where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn.

At this stage children at Court Oak need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increased understanding of the world and how it works.

My child has settled into this nursery brilliantly after having a bad experience at another setting. The staff have really taken the time to understand her and her needs and she has come on leaps and bounds since starting here in May 2017.

My son has been at Court Oak for 5 months.
We have never had tears at dropping off and he regularly is being cuddled happily by a member of staff at home time. He seems really settled and had really bonded with his key worker.

On the whole, I am very pleased with the service provided by this nursery. My daughter has really come on in her language, confidence and physical development! The nursery is quick to inform of accidents, improvements in developmental areas and always seem full of energy and passionate about what they
do. My only criticism is the end of day debrief about the day seems rushed. It would be good to have more of a brief written report as I often forget by the time I get home what activities she did and what she has eaten. Otherwise, excellent service. My child loves playing outdoors.

We have had both of our daughters at Court Oak Kindergarten. They have both progressed really well here and love coming to nursery. We both feel very happy leaving our children here. Our older daughter is now at school and was well prepared here for school entry.

I have two children at Court Oak, one aged nearly 4 in June and my daughter aged 18 months. Both have different personalities. I found that both adapted so well to nursery life and believe this is as a result of the nursery staff throughout the nursery that have met their individual needs. Both my children
are happy when I drop them to nursery and this as a parent makes it all worth sending them. At work, I can be at ease that my children are well looked after.

My daughter loves her time at nursery. She can't wait to get her coat off in the morning and choose her breakfast. She can find her own bottles and loves joining in with songs and books. We are really happy with the standard of care and professionalism of the staff at the nursery.

Excellent nursery. My daughter has been here since she was about 5 months and she has grown and developed with Court Oak. Through all the rooms she has received great care and support. The staff are excellent and genuinely care about the children. I cannot highly recommend them enough.

Hello, my name is Abigail, but most people know me as Abiy.


In 2003, my journey with Bright Horizons began as a Nursery Nurse. After taking a brief part-time break to have my daughter, I returned to the Nursery. Over time, I advanced to the role of a room leader and ultimately secured a full-time position as Nursery Manager.


Concurrently, I pursued and successfully earned a degree in Early Years Childhood Studies.

My name is Sophie and I have been with Bright Horizons since December 2017. Within 9 months I had thrived and been given my role as a Room Leader within the preschool room and was training for my role as Third in Charge. I have recently been promoted to the position of Deputy Manager of the Nursery at the end of 2018 and Bright Horizons has helped me to develop the skills needed to go with this position. Bright Horizons has provided me with lots of training and filled me with confidence for all of my roles and I feel the appreciation from the company for all of the hard work that I provide. I feel that all staff who are welcomed into the company are given the correct training that they need in order to thrive within their positions within the settings.
