Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

A warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to the nursery is fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and milk, and they provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by the nursery's own chef.

The large outdoor area with a herb and vegetable garden allows children to explore the world around, and there are two outdoor areas, one of which is for preschool children, the second being an all year round outdoor learning centre, enabling children to learn outdoors whatever the weather.

There is a lovely mud kitchen that has been extended for children to explore, including seating for children to sit down & play throughout the day. As children move out of toddlerhood and into the independence of the preschool years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning, where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn.

At this stage children at Court Oak need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increased understanding of the world and how it works.

My daughter has recently moved to the pre-school room and her transition was excellent. My daughter loves the room and runs in of a morning. The staff in the room always greet her warmly and make time to talk to her. I would recommend this nursery to family and friends.

I found it hard choosing the right nursery for my son but out of the many nurseries I looked at Court Oak it stood out by far. My son felt comfortable and so do I. The staff are very welcoming and I have no worry about leaving my son here. Definitely 5* nursery.

Friendly staff. My child seems to be content when I collect her. She likes the toys available.
The manager has been very helpful and accommodating with her medical condition.
Information on what has happened daily is given, although I would like some more personalised information about her activities.

My baby has recently started at the nursery. All the staff have been very welcoming and helpful and tried to make his start as easy as possible.
They have been very accommodating, allowing me to phone and check how he is.
He is now starting to settle and enjoy nursery life and I'm sure he will continue
to be very happy.

Absolutely wonderful staff with perfect care for my daughter. Lovely establishment; clean and very accommodating to all my child's needs. With a shy child, she was able to settle really well since joining, with credit to all members of staff for helping her warm to the new experience.

This is my second child to attend nursery. Really happy with how my daughter has settled into the nursery. Food variety is excellent. Care for my child is superb. Cannot fault. Our son appears comfortable in his nursery surroundings and has grown in confidence in his last year. We just wish he ate as well at home as he does at nursery!

Since my son started in the baby room in July we have been reassured that he has been settling in well. He has gained lots of confidence and is improving on his fine motor skills, such as feeding himself. We are very pleased with the warm friendly welcome into such a lovely nursery. This was my second son's settling in month to the baby room. His first time away from mommy and daddy. It has been a very emotional month but the staff have been very supportive and understanding. My son seems a lot more settled now and drop offs and pick ups are much better.

I'm happy with the staff and the care provided for my child, however, I think they could teach the children the alphabet and numbers from an earlier age. So the children have more understanding. The nursery is a great nursery and the care they provide is outstanding.

Court Oak is a very happy place. I am very comfortable with leaving my children here. Transitions and settlings are good. Court Oak is very focused at getting children ready for school. The Special Educational Needs Coordinator is an additional bonus.

Hello, my name is Abigail, but most people know me as Abiy.


In 2003, my journey with Bright Horizons began as a Nursery Nurse. After taking a brief part-time break to have my daughter, I returned to the Nursery. Over time, I advanced to the role of a room leader and ultimately secured a full-time position as Nursery Manager.


Concurrently, I pursued and successfully earned a degree in Early Years Childhood Studies.

My name is Sophie and I have been with Bright Horizons since December 2017. Within 9 months I had thrived and been given my role as a Room Leader within the preschool room and was training for my role as Third in Charge. I have recently been promoted to the position of Deputy Manager of the Nursery at the end of 2018 and Bright Horizons has helped me to develop the skills needed to go with this position. Bright Horizons has provided me with lots of training and filled me with confidence for all of my roles and I feel the appreciation from the company for all of the hard work that I provide. I feel that all staff who are welcomed into the company are given the correct training that they need in order to thrive within their positions within the settings.
