Chatterboxes Pre-School is a small setting situated in the heart of Moseley. It is open to all children from the ages of 2 up to 5. You can choose from 1 to 5 mornings.

Chatterboxes Pre-School offers 15hrs EEE funded places for 2 and 3yr olds and part of 30hrs EEE funded places for 3yr olds. There are fee-paying sessions available too. It is a very open, welcoming and inclusive setting.

It is open Monday - Friday term time only 09:00 - 13:00. Chatterboxes has a Forest School Practitioner and supports an outdoor learning ethos. Chatterboxes Pre-School has a beautiful large secure garden and use of Moseley Private Park for outdoor learning.

We had a wonderful year at Chatterboxes and would highly recommend it as a nursery placement. My son loved going in each day. All of the staff always took the time to treat him as an individual, work out his specific interests and allow him to make choices that kept him happy and content and engaged
in the activities. He spoke highly of the friends he made and the games he played with them there. He loved being out in the garden and spent a lot of time there. If we ever needed to change our days, this was always accommodated. Thank you for always looking after us so well Chatterboxes - we miss you!

Two of my children attended Chatterboxes and they both loved it and were very sad to leave, they both started when they were 2.5 years so it took a couple of weeks for them to settle and the staff was so helpful in settling them and were very flexible with timings. I always recommend Chatterbox to family
and friends. My girls both made a lot of progress here and the staff was always so amazing with them.

Our daughter has made great progress with the Chatterboxes team. They have helped her to become a confident young girl by being nurturing and encouraging her everyday.
They are very patient and supportive. The children love the activities that they organise. I would definitely recommend Chatterboxes
to anyone as it gives children an opportunity to develop through play.

Great nursery, my son was here from 2 years and he loved every minute! The staff are all lovely, friendly and professional. They have a great outdoor area which they use all the time. Was a great nursery and hoping to start my daughter soon when she's 2!

Chatterboxes is pretty magical, 2 of my girls have/currently attended, and not once has either of them not wanted to go in. I love how the kids all mix, not segregated by age, there is lots of space for them to feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. With the perfect mix of activities available, mindful
of allowing them to get creative and use their imaginations. I also particularly love the emphasis on being outside which has fostered my daughter's fascination with bugs, snails, and nature. Lots of lovely mud pies are made, campfires, little assault courses, and counting the trains. My daughter also loves the dancing and singing.
Good value for money. Great for every day (it's only mornings) or one day a week so you can get on top of the housework!

Overall a great experience since my child started 6 months back. Great progress shown by her in all aspects. My child loves going there and that is all that matters to us. My experience with Chatterboxes has been nothing short of exceptional. From the warm and welcoming staff to the nurturing environment, Chatterboxes was a home away from home for my child. The activities were well-thought-out and fostered creativity and social skills. The most appealing aspect of Chatterboxes
is the expansive outdoor space that actively encourages children to engage in outdoor play. My child had a speech delay and the manager provided incredible support and advice to help develop my child’s speech.
Even though my child left Chatterboxes earlier this year, I will always cherish the genuine care and kindness demonstrated by the staff towards me and my child. I highly recommend Chatterboxes to anyone seeking a nurturing and enriching early childhood setting for their child.

My daughter started at Chatterboxes two years ago and she had had a wonderful experience. The staff to child ratio is amazing and she has developed supportive, welcoming relationships with all the staff. The team are committed to child-led play and outdoor learning and this has helped my daughter develop
confidence and social skills, which I really appreciated give she is a 'pandemic baby' really, being only five months old when lockdown began. The team are inclusive, stable and take time to get to know every child as an individual. My daughter always misses Chatterboxes in the holidays. I cannot recommend the preschool enough.

My daughter attended the nursery from September 2020 up until July 2022 and she absolutely loved it. The staff are all so friendly and greet you and the kids with a big friendly smile every day. The indoor and outdoor space is large and the children are always playing outside in the mud kitchen, on
the climbing frame and with all the vehicles. My daughter joined in during the year of Covid and the nursery setting really helped her with her confidence, speech and development. The staff were very caring and loving and they made her settle in easily by doing activities/playing stuff she liked. The staff were great and patient with her toilet training and this made it easy for her too.
I cannot express anything but a big thank you to all members of staff for the way my daughter had been receiving support and help at the nursery. She misses the staff and kids a lot.

A fantastic setting where learning happens through play and always a warm welcome. My son went there just once a week, which I thought could be challenging as he would not be there long enough to adapt, but the leaders were really reassuring, and the settling-in process was really detailed yet also
really relaxed. My son really enjoyed it, especially all the hands-on outside activities - the garden is fantastic. He was given a choice of activities, which I think is great and meant the care was tailored to him. It helped him develop social skills, and he left knowing all the leaders’ names as well as the children’s! I think it’s been really good for him, and he’ll be better prepared for school having been here.

My two children attended Chatterboxes Pre-school and both absolutely adored it - as did I. The staff were all faultless, friendly, engaging, welcoming with a genuine love of the children.
I was always kept up to date with my children's progress and learning journey. The activities were always on point
and enticing to even the most reluctant child!
Physical activity and healthy eating was important to all of the staff and passed on to the children.
Whilst there my daughter was involved in an exhibition at a university and learned all about a palaeontologist. She still talks about this now.
There is nothing not to like about this place - we shall remember and talk about it always.
Great foundation for my children’s education.

This is a fantastic nursery. My son has been attending for a year, and previously my eldest son attended for 2 years. The staff are lovely and caring and are like part of my family. My son adores them and loves going to nursery. He learns something new every day and they spend a lot of the time outside
in the fresh air (weather permitting) which I think is very important. My son's speech and confidence have grown through play and various activities the nursery provides. Wonderful nursery, high recommend.

The team are fantastic with our son and he loves going to nursery. They always seem so patient, caring and considerate with each child. I especially like their attitude to play and outdoor activities, encouraging the children to enjoy a range of activities. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who

It's been lovely to see how quickly my daughter settled here as she had only been looked after by family. Staff were friendly and welcoming and have involved parents in their child's learning journey. I have noticed such a difference in my daughter since she started at Chatterboxes - in the park, she
will now talk to other children where previously she had shied away. The outside space is lovely and I notice there is often new climbing equipment/obstacle courses to challenge the children.

The staff at Chatterboxes Pre-school have been amazing in the development of my daughter's confidence. When she first arrived at the nursery her anxiety got in the way of her enjoying her time there, however, with the special care and attention she received from the nursery staff in particular two members
of staff, my daughters' confidence has improved hugely. My daughter also suffers from hypermobility and the nursery have been incredibly accommodating towards this, we have seen a huge improvement in how my daughter now engages with outdoor apparatus, as she has overcome her fears and has transformed into a confident girl. The nursery environment is incredibly welcoming and safe, thus allowing my daughter to fully enjoy her time there. The hands-on approach with the outdoors and nature is a unique experience that the nursery offers, enabling children with soft skills which further develop their understanding of the environment around them.

Job Title: Owner / Manager

Joined: 2006

Jabina began her journey at Chatterboxes as a parent helper in 2006 and started her employment in March 2007. 12 years later Jabina was given the opportunity to take over and has become the new owner. Both her sons attended Chatterboxes and now are volunteers.
Jabina is a DSL and SENCO, she has EYPS qualification (Level 6) and has Paediatric First Aid.
