Forest Hill Montessori is a private day care nursery situated in Forest Hill, London. The nursery is ideally positioned for both local residents and commuters.

Alongside the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum, the Nursery follows the Montessori method of education, which was developed by Dr Maria Montessori, and is a child-centered educational approach. It is an approach that focuses on the development of the whole child, physical, social, emotional and cognitive.

The Montessori Method is an approach to learning which emphasizes active learning, independence, cooperation, and learning in harmony with each child’s unique pace of development. It is a holistic approach emphasizing all aspects of development, rather than on attaining specific pieces of information. The Pre-School children take part in daily Montessori sessions with the qualified Montessori teacher.

The Nursery’s approach goes above and beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to foster deep level learning and optimise potential.

They offer a range of unique educational experiences which enable children to become successful, lifelong learners including, Wake up and shake up ,a range of bespoke activities which promote your child’s well-being and confidence, and Garden Champions.

Garden Champions is the Nursery’s own bespoke Above and Beyond Educational Experience gardening activity. This activity extends children’s knowledge of the outdoor environment, habitats, caring for living things, growth cycles and growing vegetation outdoors.

The Nursery Chef prepares all the children’s meals fresh on the premises each day, and the menus have been designed using the latest nutritional software to ensure they are nutritionally balanced, as well as delicious.

Since attending Forest Hill Montessori Nursery, my son has excelled in a numerous amount of ways including his speech and his social skills. The staff are so caring and attentive and this has allowed me to feel beyond comfortable knowing that my son will receive the best quality care.

My daughter has been a Forest Hill Montessori Nursery since she was 10 months old and we had fantastic experiences over the years. She is now leaving preschool and absolutely loves going to school and learning through play. The staff there are just so loving and supportive of children and we could see
that in my daughter's development. A big thank you to the team we will miss you.

Everyone is very kind and thoughtful. I very much like the updates on the app. The girls are always very chatty and seem very happy after nursery. Some of the staff seem a little disengaged but 75% are wonderful.

We love Forest Hill Montessori, we have our second daughter in the baby room now. The staff are like family, they care for and nurture the kids like they are their own. They adapt and support each child's unique needs. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Our baby has settled into the Montessori very well.
He has a brilliant key worker and all the staff are kind and caring. He particularly enjoys the outdoor activities run by the nursery. We are very happy with her care.

The nursery is great, our child is very happy there. The staff are helping mostly with her movement and advising on how to help her at home.The meal times at nursery have helped her independence which is great. A huge plus for our family is the nusery's flexibility on more days - our work can change
at the last minute so this is good for us.

My son has attended Forest Hill Montessori Nursery for almost six months and overall we are very satisfied. Most days he is happy to go in and he is learning and developing as he comes home saying and doing things he has been taught at nursery. Sometimes communication is a little chaotic in the office,
IT can break or the wrong newsletter is sent out. I would appreciate the occasional photo during the day but overall the care and attention to the children is more important to me and I see that here.

Forest Hill Montessori was recommended to us and we’ve had an excellent experience with the nursery so far. Staff, particularly in the baby room, have all be warm and caring and have made every effort to make my child feel safe and comfortable since joining in early May. We receive updates on their
meals, sleep, activities and nappy changes on pick up along with pictures and updates through the app and via a newsletter each week. Overall, though settling in has had its challenges, we have felt supported throughout and are very happy with our choice of nursery.

My child has recently started in the baby room. I was really nervous about leaving them, but all the staff made me feel at ease. They were extremely friendly and supportive with my worries. Although there was initially a few tears at drop off time, I was pleasantly surprised at how happy they were when
I came to pick them up. This has made me feel comfortable leaving them now I am returning to work.

My child is having an excellent time at the nursery. He has made good friends. The staff has given great support, they are very caring and understanding to his needs. His key person is very loving. He has developed so much since he started here. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

The recent change in new staff and management has seen a fantastic diverse lead team. Through feedback and activities such as baking on Wednesday and local trips to the co-op have been fantastic for our little one's development. Our daughter's key worker has worked tirelessly to create a warm and fantastic
bond with our daughter. New management has been very considerate to any ongoing concerns.

Overall, myself and my husband are very happy with Forest Hill Montessori Nursery. We had and are having a great experience with our eldest child who has been going to nursery since 2018. And our second child just started at the Babies Room. Staff are extremely caring and always very friendly.

Our brief experience so far with Forest Hill Montessori Nursery has been a good one. The registration process, visit and the settling-in period has been very smooth and reassuring. As a first-time mum who is nervous about leaving her daughter for the first time, the whole process has been great. The
manager has been very good at communicating with me and making me feel like my daughter is in safe and caring hands.

My son really seems to have settled very well at the nursery and has a great relationship with his key worker, who is really helpful every day. I'd love to see and hear more about the activities the children are doing during the day! That would be my only suggestion.

All the staff we have come across have been lovely. I have been frustrated with the lack of consistency and comms regarding moving up a class, would have thought these comms would come from management. Better care could have been taken regarding the Covid outbreak in December. A curtain in preschool
wasn't really separating bubbles. Some concern over discipline approach in pre-school, as my child has repeated some of the details - sending to baby room threat?
