The nursery is owned by an ambitious, experienced primary school teacher. She opened the nursery in 2012, when she had been searching for a nursery for her own little boy. Using her vision and values as a qualified teacher and parent, she created a nursery where every individual baby and child receives unrivalled care. An exceptional curriculum is in place, which ensures children receive a challenging learning experience that prepares them exceptionally well for school.

Outstanding nursery. My children have attended 5 different nurseries in total, all of which have been very good in their different ways, but only Puddleducks seems to get everything right. My two children there look forward to every day, and come home very happy. They walk into their classrooms confidently,
eager to see their friends and teachers. The staff are very friendly and available. It's all very well organised. I would highly recommend Puddleducks to anybody.

I couldn't be any more satisfied with our experience with Puddleducks in Sherriff Hutton. I have a three-year-old son in the preschool room and my 17-month-old son is in the baby room. Our youngest started just after his first birthday and we think the bond he formed with his key worker helped him settle
at Puddleducks being away from his parents for the first time. After a short time, he was smiling when getting out of the car in the morning because he knew he'd get a warm reception and a cuddle from their staff on the door before I took him up to his room. For my other son, we are very impressed by the way his key worker acknowledges what is important to him and uses that to support him. At collection, both of their key workers provide detailed reviews of our boys' days so we know the activities they've done, the development stages they've hit, what they've eaten and how they've been.
If you're looking for a nursery in the local area I would highly recommend Puddleducks.

My son has been attending Puddleducks Children's Nursery Sheriff Hutton since 2023 and I can honestly say I am so happy with the choice we made to put him into this nursery. The staff have such great communication with the parents, keeping us up to date with all information regarding funding, payments,
our child's development and other useful learning information.
My son is always so happy to be going to Puddleducks which is so settling for a parent knowing they are happy and safe in the setting. I get photographs to see what he has been up to and told after every session how he ate, what he played with and how his day has been in so much detail which I love! Also to have a menu sent to parents so we can see exactly what our child/children will be eating every week is a nice touch to keep parents involved.
The staff are always so helpful and will try everything they can to make your child feel happy and safe at Puddleducks.

We really couldn't recommend Puddleducks Children's Nursery enough, our daughter started 7 months ago and it really is like a home from home and she happily waves me off every time she goes. The comfort it gives us as her parents, knowing how happy and well cared for she is wonderful - when you first
send your child to nursery it certainly doesn't come without some worries but all of these were instantly put at ease. Every single member of the whole team is an absolute credit to them. One of the best decisions we've made is sending our daughter here, thank you to the team.

I have two children who attend Puddleducks Children's Nursery at Sheriff Hutton and have been using the nursery for the past two years. Owing to the ages of my children, I have had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with all three of the age group rooms and have been confident in the knowledge that
my children are happy, cared for and supported by all of the staff, including the office staff also, who take the time to know and understand each of the children in their building. The food provided at mealtimes is diverse and healthy, and the end of day briefings are both informative and reassuring. Each group of room staff ensures the children are occupied and encouraged to explore and learn on their own terms, with differing activities and themes. The implementation of a 'key person' for each child as a point of contact is really great, as this helps to really build a bond between the child and the staff member, and this continuity gives peace of mind to the parent.

We chose Puddleducks Children's Nursery because, as soon as we walked in, my husband turned to me and said, "If you designed a nursery, this would be it!" We'd looked at other nurseries (closer to home) but none came close.
In the year my child has been there, he's gone from a reserved baby to a confident
little boy. I believe so much of this is due to the love and learning at Puddleducks. He's still cautious in unfamiliar environments, but at Puddleducks, he's happy and confident trying new things. The fact he settles so quickly at drop-off speaks volumes about how comfortable he is there.
We love the curiosity approach and try to bring it home, finding fun in everyday items. We also really appreciate how they help the children understand and express their emotions. I've seen other nurseries scold or ignore when children take toys from each other, but Puddleducks helps children understand how the other child feels, too.
We're so happy we chose Puddleducks and genuinely recommend them to everyone!

My child has attended Puddleducks Children's Nursery for 2 years and I am beyond thrilled with how caring, kind and supportive every single staff member is. My child's development and learning is supported and encouraged. The staff have been extremely supportive throughout difficult periods of our lives.
My child has some wonderful friendships and talks so highly of the staff who provide care. Puddleducks staff act in a way that creates a genuine sense of belonging and it is apparent they have the best interest of all children and parents in the forefront of their mind. I wholeheartedly know my child and I will hold the staff members fondly in our hearts for many years to come.

We were so nervous about sending our little one to nursery but Puddleducks Children's Nursery has made us feel so much more confident! Our little one loves going to nursery, she goes in and comes out with a smile. Puddleducks is so welcoming and friendly, like a home away from home for our little one.
The staff are kind and knowledgeable and we know our little one is cared for and in good hands when we drop her off!
The environment (both physical and the atmosphere set by the staff) allows our little one to grow and develop while having fun. The activities that are offered are fun and age appropriate and it is lovely that the children get so much outside time, no matter the season, on walks or in the garden.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Puddleducks to anyone looking for a safe, nurturing, fun environment for their little ones.

We've been at Puddleducks for over 6 years and I can't believe this is our last week! I've been so impressed with the dedication, support and love shown by all the staff. People throw around the phrase 'the best start in life' but it really does apply to Puddleducks. It isn't just childcare, it's setting
children up to be kind and loving and to achieve all they can as move on to school. My younger son is autistic and has very limited speech, but staff have been so supportive of him, using his challenges as a way to teach others about diversity. I've never once felt that he's been a problem; instead they've invested in his development just as much as us. Their work getting his EHCP before school has been invaluable. It's not just about the children; Puddleducks have been amazing at supporting us as parents too. Several times I've cried on their shoulders. I don't know another nursery who provide a breakfast bar for parents because they understand what mornings can be like with kids!

Our little boy recently joined this nursery and from the moment we first visited, through to his settling-in sessions and early days there we have been so impressed with the warmth, kindness, care and attention. There are always smiles at drop-off and collection and we are so pleased with how quickly

Our daughter started at Puddleducks Nursery at the end of January 2024 and from the initial home visit and settling-in sessions, we instantly felt welcomed by the whole team. Our daughter’s key person took the time to get to know her and our family which was very important to us. The nursery has a warm
and homely feel as soon as you walk in. The environments are beautiful and inviting for the children across the whole nursery. From the delicious food the nursery offers to the variety of activities, we knew our daughter would be cared for at the highest standard. The management team are also friendly and welcoming which makes you feel at ease. The management team also value parents' voices as they listen to your feedback. The nursery also has wonderful outdoor spaces for the children to access. We highly recommend Puddleducks Nursery to other families.

My daughter joined Puddleducks in September 2023 and it has been fantastic since day one. I knew immediately that Puddleducks was where I wanted her to go when I returned to work, and I have never questioned my decision.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic, and my daughter has developed
strong bonds with not only her key worker, but all the wonderful ladies in the baby room. The smile on her face when she sees them says it all!
Their communication is second to none; they take the time to give you a detailed run-down of the day at pick up time, as well as sending weekly newsletters and sharing photos. As expected, I was anxious about sending her to nursery but it’s so reassuring to see her having such fun, interacting with the other children and engaging in the wide range of activities they offer.
The Puddleducks team really do go above and beyond, and I could not recommend them enough!

My daughter has been attending Puddleducks for the past year starting in the baby room and recently moving up to the toddler room. We feel she is extremely well cared and loved like one of their own children. We feel at ease knowing that she’s content and feels safe there. Her days are always fun-filled.
The whole team including admin and managers are fully involved in all the children’s care and development.
They have helped our little girl to grow her confidence and their ethos to learning by adopting the curiosity approach curriculum beautifully allows all the children to develop at their own pace and focus on their own interests.
The team have been extremely supportive through stressful times such as job changes and ill health in the family.
We couldn’t ask for a better place for our little girl to attend. We highly recommend Puddleducks to any new or experienced parents and caregivers.

My son moved to Puddleducks Nursery just before his second birthday and he absolutely loves it! Every time we pull up in the car outside he gets so excited when he sees the nursery! The staff are all so friendly and caring, and give really good feedback after each day. My little one is a very fussy
eater at home, but eats everything made for him at nursery, and runs straight to the table on a morning for breakfast without even looking back to say bye. I am certain that I could not have chosen a better nursery for my son and would recommend it to anyone who wants their child to be nurtured in a natural homely environment, to help them grow to be caring, inquisitive and creative individuals.

Our son joined Puddleducks in July 2021 and finished to start school this year. I knew when I first visited Puddleducks that it was where I wanted my son to attend and I haven't had one doubt that we made the right decision. The nursery itself has such a warm and homely feeling. The staff are so friendly,
professional and supportive. You could see the relationships he built with all of the staff and it was a very emotional day when he finished at Puddleducks.
It became a home away from home for our son. The varied activities always kept him interested and the play areas kept him busy, Our son has started school confident, happy, easily making friends and without a backward glance to us and I believe a lot of that has to do with his time at Puddleducks where he has thrived, been supported and encouraged to make his own journey whatever that is.
We are so happy that we have signed our little girl up to start at Puddleducks in 2024 and that our time with them is not over yet,

Our child started at Puddleducks in April. We were nervous to send her to a setting because she'd only ever been in our care. However, we discovered quickly that there was no need for our concern. Our child settled quickly and confidently into the baby room at Puddleducks. She has made many personal
and loving relationships with members of the staff, whom she bonds with on a daily basis. She now walks into the nursery with pride and belonging. We have noticed a big difference in her confidence at home, she is communicating more, socialising with others and she is always keen to explore and try her best, she is not afraid to make mistakes. Puddleducks is a wonderful Nursery. The staff work closely with us as parents, always keen to know her interests at home, so that our child can develop emotionally, socially and academically whilst at the Nursery.

From the initial meet and greet we got an excellent impression, all the staff spoke to us, and to our son. We were very impressed with the cleanliness in the baby room and the importance of education, linking the child’s experience at nursery to home via diaries, recipes and taking into account any
holidays/trips. The visit to meet and play at our house prior to our son starting gave him extra confidence with his key worker, which has continued to build. He is always pleased to see her, but we also know he is cared for by the rest of the baby team. My husband is delighted that he gets a coffee and cereal bar at drop off too! Would recommend anyone considering a nursery in the area give Puddleducks a look.

My oldest child started when he was only 9 months old, I was very worried about my son going to nursery, but all the girls made him feel so welcome and reassured me he would be fine! Well, 2 years later he is now in the toddler room and thriving. My daughter also goes to Puddleducks too. And she is
