The Green Cave Day Nursery & Montessori Pre-School is registered with Ofsted and offers exceptional care and education for children from three months to five years old, available Monday to Friday. Conveniently located near Tunbridge Wells Train Station, it is an ideal choice for parents commuting to London and neighbouring areas.

The nursery's guiding ethos of Love, Care, and Nurture focuses on each child's individuality and unique familial backgrounds. The Green Cave Nursery employs a diverse educational approach, embracing methods such as Montessori, Yoga, Football, and Forest School activities, all conducted by qualified teachers. Children have the opportunity to embark on daily explorations of the Forest and enjoy the diverse wildlife inhabiting the picturesque Kent countryside. The Baby Room has wooden cots to promote restful and peaceful sleep for their youngest of learners and the Two Year Old Room includes a specialised sensory area designed for assisting with emotional regulation and promoting relaxation.

The newly purpose build Montessori Pre-school opposite Tunbridge Wells Train Station is the only full day Montessori Pre-School in Tunbridge Wells. The Green Cave have employed highly experienced Montessori Teachers and Early Years Educators to teach the three to four year old children, preparing them for primary school and enabling them to be amazing individuals. The Green Cave Montessori ethos is about ‘Freedom of Choice’ within a unique prepared environment, independent learning with in an aesthetically beautiful Pre-School.

After every session at Green Cave my little boy comes home happy as a clam, usually covered in beautiful muck and most importantly - positively spent! I love that they let him have the freedom to be monkey, and I think taking him out on daily trips has really helped burn his energy and learn about the
real world around him. There’s always exciting activities, real guidance when needed and funny stories - ten out of ten!

Green Cave is a fantastic nursery. My husband and I feel so fortunate to have found it.


The teachers are very positive, caring and engaging. The nursery children go on regular walks around the parks and woods nearby which my son always really enjoys.


We truly appreciate the entire team for the

Although there is no outdoor space at the nursery, they take the children out to the local parks and woods which are great for them to explore.


Our little one is always happy to run through the door to attend so this says everything for us.

The staff at Green Cave are wonderful! Our little one has settled so well and he adores his key worker so much! They have such a great bond. All the staff are brilliant. The location is great too with wonderful parks and woods nearby. They do great activities with the children and we know he is safe
and looked after. They are very accommodating and always helpful and supportive. We love it!

Our little boy joined Green Cave in September 2021 and loves it! It took him a while to settle but the team were so supportive and caring during the process. He now waves us off with a big smile each morning and won’t stop chatting when we collect him at the end of the day! The activities are varied,
messy and fun and he thoroughly enjoys his daily walks to the local parks. His confidence and development has come on leaps and bounds since joining, which is so wonderful to see. The staff are amazing and he adores his key worker! We would highly recommend Green Cave.

Green Cave nursery have been brilliant with my daughter. The staff are great and do lots of activities with the children which my daughter loves. She enjoys daily walks out to the park/woods/shops and gets involved with loads of different arts/crafts/messy play which she absolutely loves! The staff
are all really caring and it feels like a really supportive nurturing environment. We also always get detailed feedback about the day and how my daughter has been which is good to hear all about.

We have had a really positive experience with Green Cave. Our daughter joined in September 2021 (her and our first experience of nursery). It took a little while for her to settle in (lockdown baby who had never previously been cared for by anyone else!), but the staff were all exceptionally supportive
which really helped the transition and I could see from really early on that she felt safe with them. She has formed some really good relationships with the staff there, who know her really well and she is very settled with. I can see that she is learning a lot while she is there and having a great time too (she's a big fan of messy play which she gets to do a lot of at Green Cave!). I would highly recommend Green Cave to other parents looking for a supportive, caring and nurturing, environment for their little ones.

Our girls started with Green Cave nursery in November 2021 and have loved every minute of it so far! The nursery does so many different activities each day with them and we can really see the positive effects it has had on them, so far. The staff are wonderful and are really attentive to the girls.
They get excited every day to go which makes us extremely happy, as parents. Their development has also excelled tremendously since starting. They are talking more and showing us new skills each week. We can't thank the staff enough for everything so far and most of all for making our girls so happy!

My son has been attending the Green Cave day nursery for nearly a year and he absolutely loves it! His confidence and vocabulary improved so quickly. He always talks about nursery and is always excited to go. The staff are amazing, friendly and very supportive and the app they use is great as I get

Green Cave is a brilliant nursery - we have had 2 children at the nursery in the last 4 years and despite being very different personalities they have been well nurtured and supported at Green Cave. The staff are brilliant and the setting is lovely. Our kids really enjoy being outside so the twice daily
walks to the local park, woods or high street are a particular highlight. They learn a huge amount at the nursery and are well supported by the caring team.

This is the best nursery that I have sent my little girl to. She has ASD and she's very complex - the staff work very hard with her to help her with her learning and speech and language and development. My daughter joined this nursery last September and from then until now, I can see so much of a change
in her learning and the way she is growing up. I would recommend this nursery to anyone as the staff are great. A lovely team and very good and understanding when needing help with any issues at all.

Such a wonderful nursery! We chose this nursery for our son in 2017 when I returned to work full time - at the time we were looking for a Montessori setting with organic food offered and wooden toys but what we found in addition to this was a caring and vibrant space where he grew and developed beautifully.
When our daughter turned 1 in January 2021, there was no question that she would follow in our son's footsteps and head to Green Cave too. As a 'Lockdown baby' she took a while to adjust to the new space and new faces but I trusted completely that she was well supported in the transition and I received regular photos of her reading books and playing with a member of their fantastic team. A year on, she runs to nursery each morning and confidently strides through the door with a smile and a wave goodbye. The staff are brilliant, the daily walks and trips to the park are a highlight and the amount of hands-on learning by the children is exceptional. Highly recommend this nursery!

The staff are always friendly. My daughter is going to the nursery very excited that she forgets to say bye. Feedback/handover is always clear and relevant. Nursery offers an app which says what child was eating, what time of day, how many nappies were changed and if it was solid or dry and what activities
they did.

The Green Cave Nursery is an amazing daycare nursery. I’m really satisfied with it and my daughter loved it from day 1. The staff are always happy and polite, I always get feedback on how my daughter is progressing. On the parents' app, we can see how was her day, pictures and more. It really gives

We are absolutely thrilled with the Green Cave Nursery. Our daughter loves attending and we all adore the staff. Friendly, efficient, supportive and kind, beyond words. We couldn't be more thankful for finding such a perfect nursery, highly recommended. The children are taken out on daily walks, play
and learn through wonderful interactive games, singing, reading and doing arts and crafts, extremely well fed and nurtured, with an in house app for daily updates to parents. From a young age, the children are introduced to organic foods and the nursery adapts to your child's requirements. Thank you to all the team at Green Cave.

My son is going to Green Cave Nursery in their pre-school year group and he loves it there. He loved his walks around the town, common, and park whilst at nursery. He also loves the fun art and crafts and writing activities he is doing there. He brings home lots of art and crafts works and I can see
he works hard whilst doing them as they are all very detailed. He has also shown me how he writes his name at nursery and some numbers too. He was very proud of his writing and I was proud of him. As my child is happy and learns whilst having fun, I highly recommend this nursery.

Fab small nursery, my little one is leaving this year to go to school and has loved the last few years at the green cave. My daughter started attending when she was one. Although there is no outside space, they go for daily walks which she loves. My youngest will be joining shortly too!

My Son has attended Green Cave Nursery since January, he has never once complained about going to nursery and he attends full time! Every day he is super excited to go to nursery. Every morning we are greeted by lovely smiles and he always comes out smiling. He talks so highly of all the staff there.
They take the children on great long walks every day to the local parks and the Montessori education is given to the children is wonderful. It is a fantastic nursery all round.

Tracy Watkins

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Tracy has worked in childcare for over 30 years, she is a trained Montessori Teacher as well as having diplomas in Special Educational Needs, Art and Design and Reflexology. She has worked with children with additional needs and a variety of nurseries and schools of varying ages. With all her years of working in different nurseries, she knows exactly what differences an outstanding, loving nursery can make to a family’s life.


Tracy has an open-minded attitude to life; she has 4 children of her own and feels all families need an extra bit of love and support to help them with their young children. Tracy’s passion lies in her early years, exploring nature and having a love for art. She first started out at The Green Cave Day Nursery as a Montessori specialist Teacher and would come into the nursery weekly to provide Montessori sessions, during this time Tracy fell in love with the setting as she loved the calm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Tracy has a passion for the outdoors, she has her own farm where in the past she looked after chickens and sheep. She encourages the children to go out to the forest every day to explore our amazing Kent countryside!


When Tracy is not at the desk you can often find her in one of the rooms extending the children’s learning through her love of the environment and singing about anything and everything!

Gem has worked with children since 2015; she has a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years (Early Years Educator) and is a qualified Level 2 Swimming Teacher. Gem first came to The Green Cave Day Nursery in 2016 as part of her Early Years course. Upon completion of her course, she knew she wanted to work in a nursery that had a family atmosphere and joined the team in 2018. Gem's passion lies with babies encouraging our youngest children to walk, talk and giggle!


She is a fantastic photographer and manages our social media pages. Gem has a passion for natural wooden toys and researches their ethical process making sure they are in line with her beliefs.


Gem is also our Lead Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator. As part of this role, she monitors each child’s learning and development. Should you, she or the team have concerns about your child’s development then she will work with you to put support plans in place in order for each individual child to reach their full potential.

Job Title: Deputy Montessori Pre-School Manager

Jane joined our Green Cave family in September 2024. Jane has worked in the Early Years for 24 years. She has an International Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy (Level 4) and Early Years Professional Status (Level 6). She has a wealth of experience having been a Manager of both a Day Nursery and a preschool in the past.


Jane is passionate about the Montessori methodology and practice, and how it broadens and enhances children’s learning and understanding, and she is delighted and excited to be bringing her knowledge and expertise to this new venture.
 
In her spare time, Jane is a keen cyclist, having cycled from London to Paris twice and most recently completed a bike ride along the Danube, from Vienna to Budapest!
She also enjoys gardening, reading and walking.
She has two grown-up children of her own.
