Tops Day Nursery - Lakeside, Portsmouth welcomes children from three months to preschool age and provides friendly and nurturing care.

Parents who want to have full control over their childcare options are able to book the length of childcare required to the nearest 15 minutes.

This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

The nursery employs an experienced team of staff who are skilled in care and support early years education in preparation for pre-school.

A curriculum of learning through play is made possible by a spacious interior. The outside play area has stimulating resources and equipment and a surface that makes its accessible in all weathers.

Tops Day Nurseries has introduced a number of extracurricular activities such as Tops Cooking School, Tops Forest School, meditation, yoga, Rugby Rangers, Boogie Mites, tooth brushing and much more.

Throughout the day, staff will record important information to share with families, such as sleep times/nappy changes and information about milk/food intake. This information is added to a daily report which is submitted onto EYLOG.

Tops Day Nurseries has introduced a no-added sugar menu to all nurseries, ensuring children start their time at nursery with a nutritional, healthy diet.

While each child is at Tops Lakeside, families are welcome to call as often as they would like to talk to a member of staff about their child's day.

Tops Lakeside offers 15-hours free funding which is available for two, three- and four-year-olds.

My daughter enjoyed her time at Tops, Lakeside immensely and felt safe and happy there. She built friendships with the other children and trusing relationships with the nursery workers who she still talks about with fondness now she has started school. I would thoroughly recommend Tops, Lakeside and
encourage my friends and colleagues to consider Tops, Lakeside for their children. Definitely a 'top' nursery!

My daughter has been at Lakeside for around a month. She started at 8 months old and she is my first baby so naturally, I was petrified of her going to nursery when I returned to work. The staff in the Explorers room are amazing, each one of them were able to greet my daughter by name by her second
session. Everyone seems to love being at work and really enjoy spending time with the children.
My daughter loves being at nursery and is always happy and content when I go to pick her up. The menu for food is incredible and the variety of activities is wonderful. So far, every session has been different and engaging. I love the Eylog system and getting the photo updates when I'm at work really helps to reassure me. I also really look forward to reading her daily diary which tells me everything about her day. I honestly can't fault Lakeside Tops. I feel confident in leaving my daughter there as I know she will be safe, cared for and her development is as crucial to the staff as it is to me.

My daughter has been at Lakeside since November 2018 and I can't thank them enough. She has come so far in her development and is so confident. My daughter adores her key worker, as well as all the other ladies that care for her and I can just tell how loved she is there. All I ask for in a nursery
is that my daughter is well looked after but the nursery goes above and beyond. There is always so much for the children to do and my daughter at 15 months, runs through the nursery doors in the mornings and doesn't often want to leave. I recommend the nursery to anyone and having the flexibility of shifts has been so helpful. Thank you Lakeside.

Wonderful nursery, go above and beyond for our daughter. Our daughter's key person is so wonderful to our daughter and her eyes light up as soon as she sees us. All the girls in explorers keep us updated on our daughter and how her day has been.

Both children love it here, they have always felt welcomed and love the staff.
They are always out and about going on walks or to the park. The staff throughout all the different stages are always great with the kids and spend time getting to know them individually then help them learn in the most
effective way for them.

Tops Lakeside is an amazing nursery. Both my children go. My eldest is nearly 4 and has been going from 9 months old. My youngest is now 1 and a half and has been going since 7 months old. I wouldn’t want to take them anywhere else. The staff are brilliant and the kids are always happy to go in the
morning and full of stories of what they have been up too when they leave. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

My little boy has thoroughly enjoyed being at Tops, his social interaction and confidence have rocketed!!! His eating and trying of new things has improved exponentially. I do feel curry features too often on the menu, however, this is also unfortunate timing with the days my son is in!

My son has been attending this nursery for just over a year and he absolutely loves being there and loves the staff. I have never had any issues and I feel he has come on so well since starting. He has always been so fussy with foods and since eating the nursery lunches I have seen a huge change in
his food habits. Also, he was not very sociable before and now his confidence is amazing and this is due to his friends and the staff at the nursery.

Lakeside is one of the best nurseries in my area, it’s extremely convenient having a nursery a jump away from my place of work as well. The staff are always so warm and welcoming. I feel confident that when my son is in their care he will be looked after extremely well and never feel bad after dropping
him off worrying he won’t be happy.

The flexibility of the nursery is next to unrivalled. The majority of the staff are very helpful and good with the children.
There have been times when the admin side of things has been let down, I do feel this was not helped by changes of management multiple times.
Overall it has been a pleasant
experience as our little one is due to start school this year.

I have always been happy with Tops Day Nursery. They are friendly, happy and know my daughter and myself well. My daughter has formed some incredible bonds with staff members which means leaving her each day in their care is easy, allowing me to concentrate on my day. Even if my daughter is feeling
unwell they accommodate her and reassure me.

My daughter started this nursery in February and I cannot fault the staff. They made my daughter feel so welcome and safe. She is only 11 months so rarely leaves me unless with family, so knowing that she is being well looked after makes my day at work better as my mind is at ease. I fully recommend
this nursery to everyone as they cater for every single individual need.

Very happy with the staff at Tops Day Nursery - Lakeside, Portsmouth. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since joining last August and is really enjoying her time there.

I knew from my very first tour this was the nursery for my daughter and I haven't been disappointed. The staff are all amazing and the level of care is outstanding. The daily logs mean we can keep track of everything she does and are so easy to access. Our daughter loves nursery days and settled from
her very first visit, thanks to all the lovely staff looking after her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone else.

My Daughter really enjoys going to Tops, the staff always welcome her warmly and we feel that they really care for her.
She is quite shy and the staff have done a brilliant job at making her feel comfortable in social situations.
