Most parents who use Little Acorns Childcare will say they are more like a family, which sets them apart from bigger nurseries in the area.

They are based within a vibrant multicultural Christian Pentecostal Church, however they are fully inclusive and enjoy celebrating all cultures, backgrounds and ethnicities, which means they welcome every child irrespective of religion, background, language and ability.

The long-standing team of highly qualified and motivated staff work tirelessly to promote the wellbeing and development of every child in their care, based on individual needs and interests.

Their holistic approach means they support the child and their family by whatever means needed, including their well-used baby bank.

The nursery received the amazing rating of 'Outstanding' from Ofsted in August 2021 and this was given with extremely high praise, with no future recommendations identified by the inspector. The manager and her dedicated team were thrilled that they were able to celebrate just how amazing the nursery is and the acknowledgement from Ofsted was reassuring.

The staff are highly motivated and have a genuine passion for supporting all children to achieve the best outcomes during their early years and this is reflected in the working relationships formed between staff and families.

So, if you are looking for a setting which has a real sense of family, is nurturing and child-led, with an outstanding reputation, Little Acorns is the place to be. Spaces are very limited so get booked in quick to avoid disappointment. The team would love to show you round, so get in touch today!

My son has attended little acorns for two years and then my daughter started recently. It was a struggle for my son to want to go but with the amazing staff and perseverance and support they gave he is now happily settled and my daughter surprised us all by connecting straight away. They both really
love going and have strong connections with all the staff and always come home very happy and occasionally messy from all the activities at their disposal. It’s a very warm and friendly place for your little ones. Highly recommended. Thanks ladies for all your hard work and support 5*

Reply from Katrina Rose, Manager at Little Acorns Childcare

Thank you for such a lovely review of our childcare. The team work incredibly hard to help settle the children and this really showed the day your little one walked in happily waving goodbye, that is a day we won't forget! Being able to work with the parents is essential and I am very proud of our parent partnership which helps the children to settle and get the very best from our provision.

Both my little girls have attended over the years and absolutely thrived! The bonds they built with the staff were amazing, and all staff really took the time to get to know them and build up their confidence. Both my girls were shy when they started but left confident, independent and thrived on learning
new things! I love the learning through play approach and how although, they are following the interests of the children, they are being taught so much knowledge, language and new skills every single day! I would recommend Little Acorns Childcare to anyone, they really treat all the children and families like they are part of the Little Acorns family.

Amazing nursery. The manager is kind and encouraging and goes over and above for both the children and their parents. It's a really bright colourful setting with lots of brilliant activities. Highly recommend this nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.550)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.550) out of 10 for Little Acorns Childcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.750 for Little Acorns Childcare is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.75

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Acorns Childcare is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 number of registered child places is 5.6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
