As a past nursery manager myself I really struggled to find somewhere that I felt was good enough to put my two twin girls. But after walking into Woodlands for the first time I received a warm welcome and such a homely friendly feel about the environment. The staff are amazing with the girls and are
so lovely to chat too. All so happy and bubbly which I can report was not the case in many of my other nursery look-arounds. The girls have been attending Woodlands now since September 2024 and they love it and now get excited when they go in! Well done to all staff and thank you all for giving my girls such a lovely place to learn and thrive.

My daughter loved her nursery and still misses it now after 2 months of not being there. I always felt like she was safe and happy going into nursery which is all that you want/need when going to work. I loved the pictures and updates from nursery staff. My daughter loved the food provided, very balanced
and a mixture of different foods. It was clear the nursery staff were hard workers and I always felt like they were good at showing they had a good day

Thank you so much for the kind words! We all miss your daughter so much, seeing her great big mischievous smile and cheekiness, not to mention how fearless she was. I'm sure she's absolutely loving school and doing great but she will always be such a big miss here at Woodlands. All the best for you and you family

We've been with Woodlands since the beginning and have had the pleasure of watching it go from strength to strength since it opened.
The staff who work there are amazing - so positive and caring. My little boy had delayed speech and I have to credit Woodlands, particularly the staff, for all the extra
support she gave him to help with his speech.
My children were 9 months and 2 years old when they started at Woodlands and from the moment we visited, I knew this was going to be their nursery. I love that they're encouraged to go exploring outside and to grow their own fruit and veg.
We're going to be very sad when it's time to start school as they'll miss the girls at Woodlands so much.
Thank you for all that you do for my children.

I have never been happier with my son's nursery experience! From the moment we walk through the doors, my son is always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the incredible staff. The management team goes above and beyond to both the children and the parents and nothing is too big or too small
for them to handle. My son has made amazing progress, especially with his social skills, and it's been wonderful to see his confidence grow. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone, as the staff truly care about your child's well-being and development.

Reply from Rebecca, Deputy Manager at Woodlands Day Nursery

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback - I'll definitely pass this on to the staff as it means so much to us all. We are so proud of your child and the progress he has made so far, he is so confident, (developed a great social life at nursery!) and we love his cheeky nature.

I am so thankful to have found Woodlands Nursery for our little girl. She has been attending Woodlands since she was 9 months old and has truly thrived in their care. She is always coming home full of smiles and new skills. The staff are so passionate and attentive, and the environment is so nurturing
and educational, with a lot of emphasis on outdoor learning. My little girl loves attending and has built such trusting relationships with staff, which is so reassuring for a parent to see.

Reply from Rebecca, Deputy Manager at Woodlands Day Nursery

Thank you so much for your feedback! We absolutely love having your child with us and witnessing her development come along so much, and getting to enjoy those cheeky smiles and laughs is such a privilege. We can't get enough of her!

We are so happy to have joined such a fantastic nursery! The staff is doing a great job looking after our children, developing their skills and attending to their needs. They communicate a lot with the parents and they genuinely care about the kids. The nursery is very well equipped with lots of indoor
and outdoor space. My baby was 7 month old when joining and having a dedicated sleeping room was a prerequisite for me! Now he is loving the outdoor space and all of the toys and activities he gets to enjoy! Thank you Woodlands!

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback! We absolutely adore your little boy (as we make very clear!) and are so proud of how quickly he is developing! His cheeky smile has us all in a chokehold, and he definitely knows how to get what he wants from all of us grown-ups. We are so pleased to have you all as part of our Woodlands family.

Woodlands has been fantastic from the day our daughter joined. She took quite a while to settle in (just due to her being always with me until she was 2) and the staff were brilliant, they were so welcoming and ensured they gave her consistency on her settling-in sessions, even swapping staff days so
the same person could greet her and make her feel comfortable.
Now, she goes in happily and has made excellent relationships with some long-standing members of staff and the new staff that they take on are obviously chosen well as she has quickly formed lovely relationships with those too.
The way Woodlands has allowed her confidence to grow, friendships to form and taught her new things, is something we will always be thankful for. The activities and meals provided are wonderful and staff always give an informative handover on pick up. Very grateful we found Woodlands!

We are so pleased to have found Woodlands. The nursery is such a special place, and my little one has loved it. The staff cares, they take time to really get to know your children and build learning and play around their interests. The nursery itself has a huge outdoor space which was important for
us as our little boy loves to be outside. They have mud kitchens, water tables, vegetable beds and lots of active toys. He's really thriving in this nursery.

I am so thankful to the girls at Woodlands for all of their help settling my very anxious little girl. It's been hard for both of us but had to return to work and they really put my worries at ease. There's always loads to do and she loves the huge outdoors She now comes home with a big smile on her
face, raves about the staff here and loves them so very much. She always looks forward to her nursery days! Couldn't be happier!

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.506)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.506) out of 10 for Woodlands Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.981 for Woodlands Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (106 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.981

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.525 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Day Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 number of registered child places is 14.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.4 = 0.625

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
