I cannot be happier with my choice of childcare. My daughter has settled in really well and is thriving in The Spanish Nursery. The staff are so warming and caring with the children and always receive them with open arms and a smile. They work hard to make sure all children receive good care and they
are never too busy to speak with me and my wife and tell us what my daughter has been doing during the day. The food is freshly cooked every day and I love the smell of warm bread and delicious soup when I walk in the morning. The Director is not on site every day but she is always very approachable by email and responds very quickly to any questions we may have. The manager is exceptional and so are the rest of the staff. Perfect place for our daughter and we have peace of mind. Thank you, The Spanish Nursery!

My daughter has been attending The Spanish Nursery full-time for almost 3 years. She loves it and never complains when I bring her in. She learned many new things and comes back and talks about it every day. There are weekly themes to ensure that kids have enough time to engage and learn about the subjects.
Her Spanish has flourished! Many of her friends are from non-Spanish-speaking families, but that doesn't affect the kids or parents. She has had three amazing key persons assigned to her and my daughter and I adore all three. All teachers are great and they are very aware of my child's needs and interests.
I highly recommend it, and would encourage anyone to meet the staff and have the tour.

My daughter has been attending for a year now and she absolutely loves it. I'm very happy with how much they care about the children, the education they receive and the food is nutritious. The staff is great and they have a great manager who is very responsible, cares about the kids and very professional.
They provide daily feedback and a newsletter, and 1-1 review every 3 months.
I can't recommend this nursery enough.

Learning in a nurturing, safe and exciting environment. Staff are gentle and the children are treated as individuals; learning is therefore tailored to specific needs and abilities. Even non-speaking Spanish children pick up bits of the language quickly.

Truly a great nursery - everything is set up so efficiently, is clean and is inspiring for the children. The staff are the most amazing aspect about this place - we felt so warmly welcome, looked after, safe and secure and cared for; everyone from management to childminders are highly professional,
knowledgeable, responsive, attentive, kind and just wonderful, part of family. Immense thank you!

My son has thrived for the past 3 and a half years at this outstanding nursery, which has become like a second home for him. The highly dedicated staff consistently offer warm and attentive care to all children. The unique opportunity for him to be exposed to Spanish, despite our home being non-Spanish
speaking, assures me of the long-term benefits he's acquiring. Additionally, the nursery's extended siesta policy recognises the importance of adequate sleep in children's brain development. So many different activities and cultural events are celebrated, giving him a broad experience.
On-site cooked meals ensure the children's nutritional needs are met, while simultaneously exposing them to a variety of wholesome foods. Pick-ups as late as 5:55pm is a bonus for us as working parents. Overall, this nursery provides an excellent learning environment that we would highly recommend to other parents.

Our daughter started in the caterpillar room at the age of 11 months, and settled in very well, even though she was not used to spending any time away from her parents. She is now excited every time we reach the nursery door, and can't wait to get out of her coat to play with her friends! The staff
are extremely caring and friendly, and we can tell our daughter feels safe, secure and happy. We are very grateful for the time spent each day with her key worker to ensure a smooth handover. It is never rushed. We also receive monthly newsletters with lots of photos, as well as reports of her development. We feel that the staff really do invest above and beyond care for each individual child, and really would recommend The Spanish Nursery to any parents who value a loving environment for their children.

My daughter has attended The Spanish Nursery (TSN) for over 2.5 years. I can't recommend a more exceptional nursery. It has everything I could ask for and more. The staff is warm, caring, loving, and nurturing. They create a fun and creative environment for the children. The key workers discuss your
child's progress and are readily available if you have any questions. Parents also receive a monthly newsletter with pictures and an overall update on what's happening. The children are exposed to many different activities such as yoga, tennis, neon sensory activities, and celebrations worldwide, to name a few. The children receive excellent home-cooked meals, and I have to credit TSN for making my child a good eater and exposing her to a wide range of foods. I also like that the children of all different ages play with each other. My husband speaks Spanish, and from this and TSN my daughter understands and speaks the language. The hours are also great for working parents.

The Spanish Nursery is a warm and loving nursery. The children benefit from home-cooked meals and outside space. Communication is frequent and clear, and decision making is transparent and inclusive. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

This is such a wonderful nursery. I was worried that my baby would struggle to settle in because he was born just before lockdown and hardly saw anyone outside the immediate family before starting here, but within a few days, he was reaching for his key worker when I dropped him in the morning, playing,
sleeping and eating (better than at home) and loving his new broader horizons. This really is a very special place - like a warm and loving family, very focused on what is best for the children, nurturing whilst also helping them develop independence. I really cannot imagine anywhere better for my shy little boy. Thank you to all the staff. You have created something wonderful.

Amazing nursery with amazing and warm staff. My son loves going there and has made lots of friends. It has a very nice outdoor area for the kids to play and it is in a pedestrianised area that makes pick up safer.

The Spanish Nursery is our daughter's second home and we thank our lucky stars every day that she got a place there. The teachers really love these kids and show such warmth, fun and kindness in every interaction. 2020 has been a struggle and Carmen and her team handled it so well: keeping us informed,
adapting to new procedures and at no time losing that relaxed sense of playfulness. The in-house cook makes incredible meals for them and we know that our children are being very well looked after. I would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to anyone. Our daughter is learning so much and is learning Spanish too, which is a bonus!

Thank you for your patience with us whilst we're navigating the challenges we are facing and for your ongoing support. Greatly appreciated.

My daughter started at the Spanish nursery right before covid. The nursery adapted quickly to the new normal, implemented a clear system to comply with the Government rules whilst adapting to our requests and needs as parents and making the children feel at ease. We cannot be happier with the nursery
and staff for creating such an engaging, caring and safe environment for the children.

I would describe it as a place that radiates warmth and happiness and we always felt that our son was in safe hands and being well looked after.
Our son still talks about his time at the Spanish Nursery fondly even after almost a year!
We were always greeted warmly by the carers who were all so friendly
and affectionate towards the children that it really felt more like dropping our son off with family than at a nursery.
The care and attention paid to the children's food left us feeling confident that our son would eat an interesting variety of healthy balanced meals and we felt reassured when they easily accommodated his specific dietary requirements willingly.
We looked at many nurseries and chose this because they really do live their ethos and you really feel that from every interaction.
We miss them all terribly and look forward to sending our recent arrival when the time comes.
Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Sadly, my son is coming to the end of his time at the Spanish Nursery, where he has been for two years. It has been an amazing and very positive experience. The staff are all full of warmth, hugs and kisses for the children which is just what you want for your little one. My son's Spanish has developed
in leaps and bounds and the food is fantastic - the children eat in a social setting and learn to share food. He has learnt good social skills and basic daily skills which I believe will help him with the transition to school and has given him a very good grounding generally. The children also get to do interesting and varied physical activities like yoga and tennis. The nursery manager is always very helpful as well in helping with queries around the minefield of free childcare and vouchers as well as any other concerns you have. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. My only wish is that there was a school attached to the nursery that my son could seamlessly move on to.

I have been very impressed with the Spanish Nursery and recommended it to friends. We feel lucky to be able to use this lovely place! It has a wonderful relaxed, caring and fun atmosphere.
The settling in process was discussed in advance and was flexible in terms of timings and enabled us to build
up the amount of time my son spent at nursery. Within a few days, he was sleeping and eating at nursery and was soon able to stay the whole day. There is a baby room and a bigger toddler room. He loved the outdoor play area with sandpit and toys - well used in warmer weather including for story time and painting.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming and always have a smile for the children. They know all the children by name and are very caring. Food is cooked on the premises. The managers are very quick to respond to emails and any queries. They produce a monthly newsletter which is a nice summary of what's going on. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work, love and care!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.652)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.652) out of 10 for The Spanish Nursery and Children's Centre for Culture and Language is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.952 for The Spanish Nursery and Children's Centre for Culture and Language is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.952

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Spanish Nursery and Children's Centre for Culture and Language is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 number of registered child places is 6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
