Banana Moon Day Nursery in Baddesley Ensor has been open since April 2013 and it takes great pride in creating strong links with the local community.

The driven and motivated team aims to raise the standards in Early Years Education at Banana Moon, and the goal is to provide children with a secure setting in which they feel part of and welcome in, providing them with every opportunity to learn and develop in-line with the EYFS.

There are full kitchen facilities on-site and they produce fresh, nutritious food daily - occasionally the children even help cook their own tea.

The garden area offers a space for children to play and learn about nature and has been separated to offer an Under-Two's and Over-Two's space so that the youngest children can still get outside and explore safely. The large allotment raised bed is integrated with the grass, and children enjoy planting and tending to this over the warmer months. Adjacent to this there is a pretend bus for the children to extend their imagination and envision they are traveling further a field. There is also opportunities for obstacle course building, exploring the bug hotel or having fun with the musical instruments.

My daughter has been attending banana moon for around 6 months and she has settled so well. She has a great relationship with the team and they all seem to know her really well. The communication and updates throughout the day are fantastic. There are so many activities going on each day, she has so
much fun and her confidence has grown so much since attending. As a parent who was very nervous about sending her to nursery, we are so happy that we chose here.

I can't rate the nursery high enough. My son loves going. All the girls are amazing with him and he has learnt so much.
The activities that they do with the children are so creative and my son really gets stuck in. They are great at adapting to your child's needs and communication is fantastic.
You
can tell everyone really cares about the development of your child and they get lots of cuddles and kisses too.

Our daughter started at Banana Moon in October, we worried at each settling-in session how she (and us!) was going to cope, but by the time her first full session came around we were confident that she was in good/ safe hands, everyone is friendly and welcoming and we love having the photos and updates
of her days spent there. We are also so happy with the extra days they put on for special occasions - i.e. Halloween party, visiting Santa (which has been brilliant for us as she was not scared of him at all when visiting him at the nursery in familiar surroundings.) We definitely intend on our daughter and then son to be attending this nursery until they start school!

All staff go above and beyond, I've never felt more comfortable leaving my little girl - she adores going and I will be extremely sad when the time comes to leave. The amount of activities they do is brilliant and she comes back having learnt something new each day.

My daughter has attended this nursery in the baby room since September 2023. I was anxious about leaving her but every single staff member made the transition easier than I thought it would be, they were all so reassuring and supportive. This has continued throughout my daughter's time at nursery. The
relationships between the staff and children are fantastic, so nurturing and caring. They always go above and beyond to ensure the children are doing fun activities to aid development and that these are captured on the daily logs we receive. My daughter has more than one allergy, and yet she has never been left out, it's so nice that she is included and catered for. Overall I feel my daughter is safe, happy, and so well cared for. Thank you to everybody at Banana Moon for taking such great care of our daughter.

Our son has attended Banana Moon in the baby room since April 2023 and we have been extremely impressed with the level of development, the feedback we get and also his attachment to the staff in such a short time. At first he did get upset when going and not being at home with Mum, but now he is always
excited to go and is always happy to see everyone which just shows the attachment he has to the staff.
The activities that the nursery run are fantastic and our son is always doing new things and creating things that he brings home and always seems to have enjoyed what he has done each day. The nursery is also excellent at providing developmental updates as our son achieves new milestones and regular catchups and parent evenings help us understand his progress in greater detail.
I would happily recommend Banana Moon to any parents of young children looking for a quality nursery that truly seems to put the children first.

The staff are always really nice and would do anything to help you when you need it. Our child always looks like they are having fun on the updates and she loves it at nursery. My only issue is that my daughter seems to like the food more at nursery than she does at home which makes me think I need
to get better at cooking! Maybe you could give me some pointers?

Banana Moon Baddesley is a wonderful nursery. From the moment you walk in the door you are welcomed with smiles and made to feel like part of the family.
The staff go above and beyond to create a fantastic learning environment, which challenges the children whilst giving them open-ended opportunities
to express themselves. They use the outside and local community to extend the children’s learning environment and knowledge of the world.
We have been part of the Banana Moon family since 2015 and will be sad when our journey comes to an end this year.
Both my children have been supported, cared for and challenged, which has meant they have flourished in the care of the Banana Moon team. Banana Moon Baddesley definitely takes on the board the child as a whole and the children’s well-being is at the heart of all they do.

From the very start of our child’s journey at Banana Moon, we as a family have all felt extremely supported and welcomed by each and every staff member. The staff are amazing with meeting our child’s needs on a daily basis. They listen to our feedback about how things are going at home, and they provide
us with support too. The app is always up to date and we can see the progress our child is making, we can work collaboratively towards meeting our child’s goals. Our child absolutely adores coming to ‘school’, he has got some amazing relationships with the staff members, especially his key person. He is thriving at this nursery and I am always telling him how lucky we are to have found such a great nursery!

Our son and daughter attend Banana Moon 4 days a week. They love the nursery staff and have truly thrived since starting there. Their development has improved dramatically, and they love getting involved with a wide range of activities and experiences.
As a mum, it is extremely hard to leave your children
with someone, while you go to work, but the bonds that the children have created with the staff have helped relieve the mum's guilt.
The manager is an absolute diamond. She is fantastic at her job, words don't express how far above and beyond she goes for the nursery.

My two daughters went to this nursery. My eldest had been at a different nursery and then when we moved and I sent her here to Banana Moon. I cannot fault them! The staff are absolutely amazing, I got to know them all, it was different to where we had been before. You actually get to know the people
looking after your children and they were honestly amazing. I had complete trust, the manager was always there to speak to you if you ever needed something. I could message them and they would always respond to me or someone would always be there to answer the phone. My second daughter was born and then attended the nursery. She had a dairy allergy and they were brilliant with her. Everything was segregated but she never missed out on anything. There were always alternatives for her. The girls did so many things whilst they were there. Walks to the woods, playground, bakery, church etc it was fantastic for them! Definitely the best place to send your children! We miss it so much!

He instantly bonded with the staff in the baby room when he first started, and we could tell from day one that it was a right fit for him. The play, activities and learning were all brilliant. It seemed like they were learning him something new every day. He has now since has moved into the toddler
room. He instantly seemed like he was at home, as he transitioned from one to the other. He bonded so well with the toddler staff and, again, have nothing but nice things to say about them. Rarely a day goes by where he doesn’t excitedly tell me, chapter and verse, of what he has done that day with a big smile on his face in the car on the way home. In fact, if I ever pick him up a bit too early for his liking he’s not happy with me, as I think he would prefer to stay for a bit longer. (I had no idea I was such an inconvenience to him). Thank you, Banana Moon, Baddesley team, for always making it a happy place to be.

Writing this review as my youngest child is leaving Banana Moon Day Nursery Baddesley Ensor this month ready to start school in September. It's the end of an era for us as we've been using the nursery for nearly 6 years now as both of my boys went here. Banana Moon is a great nursery made extra special
by the warm personalities of the girls who work there and particularly the manager who is lovely and works really hard to create the culture it has.
They have a good balance between running it as a business whilst trying to be as helpful and flexible as possible around the demands of busy working parents. The boys have always been very well looked after there and we received a lot of additional support with my eldest's behavioural development a while back. Communication is really good and the app is updated with lots of info and pics throughout the day. My youngest particularly loves the garden and going on the mini trips around the village to parks, farms and the library. We're really sad to be leaving!

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2017

Joann has achieved her BA Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies Level 6 at Birmingham City University.
She started here at Banana Moon in June 2017, working full-time in the Pre-School group. Since then Joann has extended her knowledge and skills through a range of in-house experiences and challenges. As part of her continued professional development, Joann has been our Room Senior of Pre-school and has just received a for Deputy Manager after a successful Secondment for Nursery Manager, covering Maternity Leave. Joann took Deputy Manager in her stride, using the opportunity to learn the ropes and has now taken over as Nursery Manager.


She is keen to take on new challenges and has exciting ideas for the children within her care, developing their skills before they move on to the next stage in their lives.


Joann is the Designated Safeguarding Lead at Baddesley Ensor and takes the full lead for this role, supported by the 2 other members of staff, trained by our Local Authority, Warwickshire.

Evie joined our team in 2021 after relocating to the local area. Evie has vast experience working with babies in her previous setting and has also been a room leader. I have worked in a variety of cheffing settings and thoroughly enjoy my job here at Banana Moon as nursery cook.


I freshly prepare healthy home cooked meals each day for the children to enjoy.


During the day I also take part in cooking activities with all age groups including baking cakes, biscuits, making soups, sandwiches, pies etc.


I am growing my own vegetables within the nursery garden which the children tend to then are able to add this to their own meals.

Joined: 2021

Sarah joined our team in 2021 as a pre-school practitioner and key worker. Sarah has vast experience with pre-school aged children working in a school attached pre-school for many years which unfortunately closed down due to retirement in 2021. Sarah has settled into the team well and built relationships with the children in her age group and key groups and their parents and families too. Sarah is Level 3 qualified.

Yvie joined our team at Baddesley in 2021 part way through her Level 3 apprenticeship studies at college with another setting, transitioning to a new nursery to complete the remaining areas of her qualification. Yvie has a course tutor who supports her both remotely and in-house with targets, coursework and assessments helping her to achieve her Level 3 qualification. Yvie is a key worker within our preschool team supporting children aged 3-5years using our Learning and Development programme. Yvie has a mentor in our nursery.
