Banana Moon Day Nursery in Baddesley Ensor has been open since April 2013 and it takes great pride in creating strong links with the local community.

The driven and motivated team aims to raise the standards in Early Years Education at Banana Moon, and the goal is to provide children with a secure setting in which they feel part of and welcome in, providing them with every opportunity to learn and develop in-line with the EYFS.

There are full kitchen facilities on-site and they produce fresh, nutritious food daily - occasionally the children even help cook their own tea.

The garden area offers a space for children to play and learn about nature and has been separated to offer an Under-Two's and Over-Two's space so that the youngest children can still get outside and explore safely. The large allotment raised bed is integrated with the grass, and children enjoy planting and tending to this over the warmer months. Adjacent to this there is a pretend bus for the children to extend their imagination and envision they are traveling further a field. There is also opportunities for obstacle course building, exploring the bug hotel or having fun with the musical instruments.

My children came from another nursery to Banana Moon, and although they have not been here for very long, the staff have created bonds with my children, and they both enjoy attending. I cannot thank all the staff enough for making all of us feel welcome and helping my children to transition to this
nursery from their old one, and getting them ready to attend school. We only wish the children could have attended for longer!

The staff at Banana Moon Day Nursery have been fantastic, our little girl is just going through her settling sessions to move from the baby room into over two's and everybody has been great. The baby room team are talked about with such love when we get home and I am sure that it will be no different
once we are fully into over two's.

Banana Moon has always gone above and beyond for my little boy. My son has special medical needs, and the nursery has been amazing to support him while in the nursery. The difference within a few months is amazing, and that’s all down to the girl's hard work and love they have for all the children.
The team at Banana Moon are like family in our eyes.

A home from home! We’ve been using the nursery for nearly 4-years now and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, across all the rooms, and it’s clear they really care for all of the children. It’s been amazing to see our children learn and grow in their
time there and bounce in and out happily each morning and afternoon. The range of activities and events the team do and get the children involved in is great and adds lovely variety to the things they do.
Although a small site, the nursery really maximises how they use the space and get the most out of things, utilising everything at their disposal. This is something that stood out when looking at different nurseries for us, often others would have much larger spaces but didn’t talk about even half the things that Banana Moon did. And we see those things happening - great job!

My daughter enjoys this nursery a lot. Always packed with activities. Love the daily diary, very detailed and allows to track child progress including what they eat.

The Nursery has been excellent in supporting my child from the first day but especially, during the last 5 months. Everyone has gone out of their way to make sure that they don’t miss out on activities and provide additional support where needed. Cannot praise the staff group enough for being the 'parent'
of my child while they are in their care.

My son attends Banana Moon currently in the baby room. He attends twice a week and very much enjoys his time there. The team working at Banana moon are lovely and I know when I drop him off in the morning he will be looked after, kept happy and safe until I return. The nursery is small, but this allows
all the children to get to know each other and all of the staff. A big plus point for this nursery is the app they use to keep us updated. I love getting my daily photos of the activities my son has been involved in. The other big plus point is the opening times of 7.30am to 6.30pm gives us the flexibility we need to ensure we can complete a full day at work without having to worry or rush back to collect him. Where others locally would charge extra for the last hour of the day. A big thank you to the staff for all they do for our son.

My daughter has attended Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor for over 12 months and has flourished within all areas of her development. She really enjoys the social aspect of nursery life and interacting with all of her 'friends' she talks about particular staff members and always has fond things to say each
day when coming home. Lots of lovely activities are carried out with the children each day and we see this through the parent app which is a great tool and feature for working parents who can simply check onto the app during the day to see how their child is getting on with lovely photos to make you smile. Most of all she is having fun - whilst learning too!

My daughter has really blossomed since joining Banana Moon. The staff are so caring, lovely and friendly. They really create strong bonds with the children and then keep constant contact with parents/carers through the app. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a nursery. My daughter started
at 18 months old so she's experienced 2 of the groups so far.

My daughter attends Banana Moon in Baddesley and she loves it there. She has been going since the end of Maternity leave when she was 10 months and is now 2.5 years old. She has friends there and the staff work hard with her on her development and offering lots of activities to encourage her and keep
her stimulated. They have lots of outdoor time and 'messy' play. The food is prepared on-site and is fresh which is a huge positive for me. The nursery manager is fantastic and the other staff are all very nice. I feel that my daughter is well looked after and safe. I hope to be able to send my younger child there also when I return back to work.

My daughter has only been going here for a few months, but I am already seeing great progress, the staff are so lovely and friendly. I always feel at ease when dropping her off, and the tears are starting to fade away as she becomes more settled. I love getting the updates through the app and seeing
the fun they get up to, especially in these unusual times, it's great for my daughter to be able to socialise with other children.

Both my children have attended Banana Moon Day Nursery Baddesley Ensor from 2015 and we a thrilled with the love and support provided in the care of our children.
The staff are so dedicated and caring, the management is reliable and proactive. The nursery itself is small, but the space is used well.
There are always creative stations set up for play, and the work in the garden over the last 12 months has been really good.
I was pleased with how the nursery coped with the pandemic and how they dealt with the return to the nursery.
The staff provided story session by Zoom, something they didn’t need to do, but it’s those little touches, going over and above what they need to that makes this nursery so special.

My son started nursery at the beginning of the pandemic, 2 days before closure. The days he was there, he seemed to really settle in well and formed a great bond with his key person.
The nursery handled the whole pandemic really well keeping us regularly updated with any updates they had. After 6 months
off, my son returned and within days was walking (he was a roller before the closure). His communication has come on so much and he seems to really enjoy it there. I love the updates we receive throughout the day with photos of what he has been doing and what he has eaten (the food is great). All of the staff are lovely and I am so glad it was the nursery we picked! Thank you to all at Banana Moon.

This is a great little nursery, the staff are excellent and its a very personal experience. It's like dropping off our children to a family member. The children have come on so much since starting, from education to helping toilet train, to just general love and care, they have really helped support
the development of our children. I can clearly see how hard the staff work to look after and help the little people grow. They encourage outdoor activities in any weather, and all of the children are provided with all in one suits so they are dry and comfortable.

The staff at Banana Moon are all so welcoming! My son's key worker and other staff in the under 2's room have helped him settle in so quickly - he now happily goes in each day with no tears. They always report positively and realistically at the end of each day. There is a feeling that everyone there
cares a great deal about each child.

My daughter absolutely loves Banana Moon! All the ladies are so kind, friendly and always greet my daughter with a smile. I have never had any problems sending her and she is full of chatter when picked up about all the things she has done during the day. The team have really helped her to settle in
and make friends and also get her ready to start school next year. I feel much more confident that she will do really well when she leaves for reception. Banana Moon ladies, you will be sorely missed next September by us both! Cannot recommend this lovely nursery enough to people!

I've been extremely happy with Banana Moon. The staff and set up are fantastic, both of my children started their playful learning journey there and both loved and love it. They learned to play share and care and both progressed massively in their getting along with other children and performing new
tasks as the staff keep you up to date with where they are in terms of learning and how we could go about setting up the next learning steps.
Such an awesome nursery, highly recommend it to anyone.
My kids are my treasure and I feel so at ease leaving them with the Banana Moon staff. They help my little stars shine even brighter.

What can I say? Our little boy loves this setting and is always so pleased to arrive for the day. He has made some amazing attachments to key members of staff and he is starting to develop relationships with other children. He has so much confidence (possibly too much at times!), his development is
spot on and is simply flourishing in no small part due to Banana Moon.
The staff are always very approachable and genuinely know my little boy so well. They provide lots of fun activities and amazing meal choices. Put simply, Banana Moon takes away some of the guilt of having to be a working mummy, knowing that he is receiving care that is second to none! Thank you!

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2017

Joann has achieved her BA Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies Level 6 at Birmingham City University.
She started here at Banana Moon in June 2017, working full-time in the Pre-School group. Since then Joann has extended her knowledge and skills through a range of in-house experiences and challenges. As part of her continued professional development, Joann has been our Room Senior of Pre-school and has just received a for Deputy Manager after a successful Secondment for Nursery Manager, covering Maternity Leave. Joann took Deputy Manager in her stride, using the opportunity to learn the ropes and has now taken over as Nursery Manager.


She is keen to take on new challenges and has exciting ideas for the children within her care, developing their skills before they move on to the next stage in their lives.


Joann is the Designated Safeguarding Lead at Baddesley Ensor and takes the full lead for this role, supported by the 2 other members of staff, trained by our Local Authority, Warwickshire.

I have worked in a variety of cheffing settings and thoroughly enjoy my job here at Banana Moon as nursery cook.


I freshly prepare healthy home cooked meals each day for the children to enjoy.

Emily works as our Baby Moon's room leader looking after our babies aged 3 months-2 years. Emily is Level 3 qualified and has great experience with children of all ages. Emily has 2 children of her own, has been a childminder for her own business and also currently runs her own soft play private hire.

Sarah

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Joined: 2021

Sarah joined our team in 2021 as a pre-school practitioner and key worker. Sarah has vast experience with pre-school aged children working in a school attached pre-school for many years which unfortunately closed down due to retirement in 2021. Sarah has settled into the team well and built relationships with the children in her age group and key groups and their parents and families too. Sarah is Level 3 qualified.

Yvie

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Apprentice)

Joined: 2021

Yvie joined our team at Baddesley in 2021 part way through her Level 3 apprenticeship studies at college with another setting, transitioning to a new nursery to complete the remaining areas of her qualification. Yvie has a course tutor who supports her both remotely and in-house with targets, coursework and assessments helping her to achieve her Level 3 qualification. Yvie is a key worker within our preschool team supporting children aged 3-5years using our Learning and Development programme. Yvie has a mentor in our nursery.

Rebecca works within our Under-Two's room and is a key person to our Baby Moons. Rebecca has a good bond with our parents and children. She is keen to get involved with all aspects of nursery life!

Acacia has worked with us as Bank Staff previously and enjoyed it so much that she is now completing her Level 3 apprenticeship! Acacia works with in our Under-Two's room and is a key person to our Baby Moons.

Amy is our Mini Moon Room Senior. She helps support and develop the Mini Moons along side Kim. Amy is level 3 qualified and has many years experience behind her.

Lauren is based in Full Moons. She is enthusiastic and dedicated to providing a fun, nurturing and engaging environment for the children.
Lauren is currently working towards her Level 3 Early Years Educator.

Poppy is currently at college studying for her Level 3. During term time and summer holidays Poppy provides support and cover when needed. Poppy helps with daily tasks, assisting during activities and is dedicated to helping our children grow!
