First Class Nursery provides high-quality, integrated and flexible day care for babies, toddlers and pre-school children, close by to Huddersfield town centre.

Highly trained and experienced staff provide a wide range of stimulating and educational activities linked to the EYFS curriculum. The staff encourage and support all children to achieve their full potential, actively promoting the development of positive self-image within each child.

Children are given lots of opportunity to get creative in the outdoors, with woodwork, loose parts play and caring for the fruit and vegetables which are grown every year.

First Class has embedded the curiosity approach, where modern toys and technology are removed from the learning environment and replaced with everyday items to encourage children's natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create.

First Class Nursery menus are planned in house and children, parents and staff are actively involved in this process. Good quality, fresh, wholesome ingredients are used to prepare meals. The nursery supports local suppliers where reasonably practical and cater for a variety of special diets. Nursery currently holds a Food For Life Early Years Award and continue to follow the Food for life ethos.

The nursery work in close partnership with parents and carers, maintaining strong, open and honest working relationships and good communication through regular newsletters, email updates, parents zone electronic journal, child's learning journals that can be accessed in the child's room and also parents evenings.

First Class Nursery is absolutely outstanding. Since moving our daughter here, we've noticed a remarkable difference in her development and happiness. The team of professionals is incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated, providing excellent support for her growth and learning. They are the most caring
and considerate group of people we've ever encountered, making us feel completely reassured that our child is in the best hands.


Having experienced another setting before, it's clear that First Class is on an entirely different level-our previous nursery wasn't even half as good. We couldn't recommend them highly enough to any parents who want their child to be nurtured, supported, and genuinely cared for. A truly fantastic environment.

Can't fault this nursery at all! The staff are amazing, very welcoming and friendly. My child loves going to nursery and has never not wanted to go, she is always telling me what she's done on the day, had to eat etc. Her learning and development have come on leaps and bounds. My eldest child went to
this nursery as well so for our 2nd child there were no issues for us to choose. First Class have some of the same staff that my older child had when he came. Both my children started at 6 months and while there they've met all their needs, the learning opportunities are spot on and they go above and beyond. Communication is spot on via the app. I would always recommend the nursery to anyone that was looking for childcare.

I am very satisfied with all the staff, especially bluebells, who were all a second parents to my son. The best nursery ever! Honestly, I cannot compliment first class enough, my daughter started in January and since starting she has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are incredible. My daughter absolutely loves every single staff member, she's never had 1 bad word to say. I'm so so grateful for everything
first class has done for my daughter, especially her key worker, she has gone over and above to make sure my daughter is where she should be and they have the cutest bond. The meals are wonderful the facilities are fantastic and I've just felt so happy knowing my daughter is around such wonderful women. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of my daughter.

As a first-time mum, I was super nervous about leaving my son in childcare when he was just 8 months old, as I was returning to work. However, choosing First Class Nursery has been one of the best decisions I have made. My son has made incredible progress and built great bonds with the staff. He often
reaches out for them upon arrival, especially his key worker, whom I would like to thank for her hard work, love, and passion she has shown toward all the children, particularly my son. The meals provided are always nutritious, and if my son wants more, the staff ensure he gets it. I feel confident that my son is well-safeguarded and in excellent hands. My daughter is in preschool and has attended first-class nursery since she was a baby. Every single member of staff we have encountered have been amazing, my daughter loves them all. She has developed and learnt so much since starting at First Class! We really love and would recommend this nursery to

Both our girls are at First Class Nursery and I couldn't recommend them enough. Our eldest in Preschool and our youngest has just moved from 'Baby Room' to 'Bumblebees'. The staff are knowledgeable and caring, some of their lengths of service are a testament to a well-managed nursery. The food options
are nicely varied and additional portions offered (great for our greedy youngest!) and I love how our girls learn about other cultures' foods throughout the year. Whenever we've had an issue, it is dealt with appropriately and promptly. Huge thanks as always.

Cannot fault this nursery in any way. My daughter has been going since she was a baby and has already learnt and developed so much since going here, she is always happy to attend and loves seeing the faces of the staff that care for her as well as the friends she has made.
The staff are brilliant and
always go above and beyond, they always give a warm welcome and you can tell they really love what they do. I’m so happy that I have found somewhere where I feel my child is safe, happy and thriving. I wouldn’t want to take my daughter anywhere else. Thank you so much First Class Nursery!

First class have really nice and professional staff. My child adores the ladies who run his room. The management is excellent, friendly and approachable. I have found them very accommodating and flexible in regards to their care.
The food is healthy and varied and the staff are always coming up with
new activities to keep the children entertained and bring on development.
Really happy we chose this nursery, exceeded our expectations and they utilise our cloth nappies, would definitely recommend.

I am extremely happy with the service provided by First-class. As an immigrant mother, I was very much nervous to send her to the nursery and had doubt about my daughter being able to cope with the new environment but everyone at the nursery were so reassuring. I would like to thank the Manager and

A wonderful nursery with kind, caring and well trained staff. The nursery manager runs the setting extremely well, she is approachable, great with communication and clearly involved with the staff and children on a daily basis. The quality of provision is high and the staff are clearly committed to

I was so nervous sending my son to nursery as he is very clingy to myself and his dad. All the staff were so supportive of both mine, my partners and especially my son's feelings. My son is now so independent thanks to this nursery and his progression and development has come on tremendously. I can’t
thank this nursery enough. My son now gets upset leaving nursery never thought I would see this in my entire life. So happy we picked this nursery to put my child in.

Our little girl started in First Class Nursery when she was 12 months old. When we started viewing nurseries initially, we were anxious about thinking of handing over our little girl for the first time - but from our first viewing of the nursery, and meeting the manager and the team, our mind was immediately
put at ease. We knew it was the perfect place for us when we were told ‘we know how precious everyone’s child is, and will ensure she is so well-cared for and happy here’. Because this is what everyone wants for their child. The team in the baby room did everything to settle her in - working around her naps, eating, playing etc. Now, she is so happy going in each morning and seeing her lovely key workers and little friends. Everyone in the nursery really cares about the children, and form bonds with them. The daily feedback you get is thorough and really helpful to hear what she has done each day. We also love the personalised app with updates on your child. Highly recommend!

Job Title: Nursery Manager

My Name is Laura, I am the Nursery Manager at First Class.


I qualified in 2010 with BTEC Level 3 in childcare. I then went on to complete my degree in BA (Hons) Early Years with professional studies and QTS. I graduated in 2015 with a 2:1.


I started working at First Class in 2018 as a nursery practitioner and then was promoted to senior practitioner in 2019. From then, I remained a Pre-School senior until I was promoted to deputy manager in 2022. I have recently been promoted to nursery manager.


I am now mainly based in the office but I like to go into the rooms to help out when needed and at dinner times. I love my job and I’m passionate about working with children. I am told by my colleagues that I am kind, and always willing to listen and help. Goes above and beyond in my role as a manager.


My other roles within the nursery are safeguarding officer and health and safety officer. I have carried out many training courses including EYFS, food hygiene, First Aid, behaviour management and Mental Health First Aid.

I have worked in all the rooms in the nursery as a practitioner and also as a senior, I then became deputy manager in 2016.

I have been on many training courses including behaviour management, health and safety, food hygiene and first aid.
